+ 2 Dr driving me Nuts

ad

Been on TRT for almost 17yrs. Got a new Dr and he has been driving me nuts. Started me back on Androgel which never worked for me in the past and still doesn't now. Switched me to shots but of course only wanted to give me 200mg every 2 weeks. I proved to him already by blood work that wasn't going to work and only gave me low T at the end of the 2 weeks. I told him I needed 150mg a week to feel normal and that's what I was on for many years. He still wouldn't up the dose. After 1.5yrs of his BS I decided to just order and take my own Blood panels and prove to him what works. Sust works the best to feel normal everyday so that's what I ordered. To combat the negatives like higher hematocrit (thickening of the red blood cells) which was starting to happen so I give him credit for that but I believe it's because of the higher spike in Test causing it.

Taking 200mg eow I would never feel horny. Not even the spike would improve my libido. So I decided to take much smaller daily doses to mimic how the body produces Test. 30mg/day Subq, 29g 1/2" insulin syringe, and now within a week my libido is coming back. BP is normal 126/85. I will adjust my dose as I get blood work done every 2 weeks. Without the big spikes I expect my hematocrit level to start going back down. Last blood work showed hematocrit at 51.
Taking daily Subq shots is so easy and painless. This should help keep levels more normal and avoid negative sides like high estrogen / hematocrit / BP etc no matter if you use Test E, C or Sust.

I will update this as I go along and show blood work panels.

Where is the best place to order Blood work from?

Thanks

It's a pain in the ass to find the right trt doctor. I'm skeptical that you taking things into your own hands will convince someone to change their ways who sounds to be conservative with a closed mind. Keep in mind once you tell him you've done this, it becomes part of your medical record. If you're seeing him through insurance, they have access to it. I know HIPPA protects you with some. Also, depending on what your profession is, sometimes your employer can get access to it too, regardless of HIPPA. Just things to consider...

You'd be best off finding a new provider, one that's up to date and willing to try new methods of treatment. Many providers want to try and practice medicine with a one size fits all approach. Most people seem to realize this is a highly ineffective way to treat people, unfortunately it seems the majority of providers continue to go about things that way.

I've already did this with my first Dr. 17yrs ago... He had me on gel and it wasn't working for me so I got shots and adjusted my dosage to 150mg and I felt normal... Told my Dr. and tested my level and agreed with me and wrote my scripts. I'm not worried.

Rockin's picture

This is what I'm taking daily:
SUSTANON 300... I'm starting out with 1/10th of ml with total of 30mg...
Testosterone Propionate: 3.6mg
Testosterone Phenylpropionate: 7.2mg
Testosterone Isocaproate: 7.2mg
Testosterone Decanoate: 12mg

Greg's picture

Are you trying to sell us that this is what your old doctor had prescribed? 60 mg daily injections?

I'm starting to like your new doctor

Rockin's picture

I never said that... and I never said I was taking 60mg/day. 2 previous Dr's. gave me 150mg / week

Greg's picture

This is what I'm taking daily: 30mg + 3.6mg + 7.2mg + 7.2mg + 12mg = 60mg daily (420mg wk)

All that aside, you need to finds a doc you can work with and NOT self prescribe. No doctor is going to take charge (become responsible for) your health with questionable stats and diagnosis. They will start you over from square 1. It'd be better to "play the game", follow their process of due diligence, than it would be to try and play doctor to prove them wrong.

Rockin's picture

lol...that's not a quote... I like how you left out part of what I wrote then added to it...

ECinfidel's picture

I'm sure Greg just misread what you're saying. But seriously, you're pinning 7/10 ml of sust 300 e/w for a total of 210 mg low ester test and you're pinning daily? You could probably pin a long ester (C or E) twice a week, or shit, test C 200 at 50mg 3 times a week if need be, for a total of 150mg and get the same results and save yourself a whole bunch of hassle.

Rockin's picture

When I get blood work done I will know if taking smaller daily doses lowers my Hematocrit...that's my Dr.'s real concern at the moment...and I would like to see it lowered too... Last tested at 51...he said I could donate blood but I want to see if this solves it first...

Dacky's picture

I’m pretty sure I know what the result will be but keep us posted. I’m interested to know how it works out for you on this point. I know how it did for me with a similar experiment.

You need a doc with more experience , a doc who subscribes you Test that your levels are high enough and stable!

Even for Test U. 200mg/e2w is too less, ***** recommend in the origin leafet 1000mg e3w or e4w!

For bloods depends on your country, but a lot doc's and hosiptals do bloods for a low price. If not try to find a good lab with fair prices.

Hope you get help soon!

Find a new Dr or come to grips with what your doing. If it’s not through a doc is not trt. I refer to it as cruising. Sust is a poor choice for trt.

I was on Sust type from another Dr many years ago and it works better for me, the little quick release would keep my libido in high gear everyday... Test C or E never did that and there would always some lag time...

Dacky's picture

Makes no sense. Once you’re at stable levels your libido should be well “stable”. Consider this could be more psychological than hormonal?

Rockin's picture

Possible...but seams to work... time will tell if I need to switch to Test E if the little spikes from Sust cause blood work issues...

Test C or Test E. , if not available at the pharmacy Test U. "the real trt ester".

Like everything in a capitalist society

time to shop around.

In this case, for a new a doctor that actually listens and cares about their patients health.

Rockin's picture

He cares but doesn't have the experience so he's cautious... even put me through a sleep study... He actually suggested I go to one of the clinics around here but I'm not going to spend $200 + a month on a pellet when I can get a years supply for $150... insurance already cost over $600/month

MedDx's picture

If y'all can work together, and he's willing to do it, both of you will be better for it...help him be less cautious...sounds like you have a good plan..

Rockin's picture

That's what I'm shooting for... I have a daily journal for him to read...I'll note improvements, side effects, BP, Pulse everyday then blood work every 2 weeks. He wanted to see me again in 2 months so I'll have plenty of info for him. In the end I'm going to do what is best for me and I'm hoping he comes on board with it. Through the years I've had 3 Dr's. My first Dr was smart and even though my Test Level was 400 he knew some men need more to function normally... he also started me on the gel and it didn't work... I got shots from a friend and found what dose worked for me and I told him... he tested me and agreed... it was 150mg a week.

30mg/day Subq

Glad it works for you, but that’s a whole lot of pinning.
Have you discussed weekly shots as opposed to bi-weekly?

I’ve had problems with doctors in the past and have had to switch several times to find one that is reasonable and that will work with me. Best of luck.

Rockin's picture

A daily Subq shot doesn't bother me at all... yea I tried weekly shots and he only gave me 100mg/week... that dose as you know doesn't do shit...

I would love to go back to my old Dr but he isn't covered in my current insurance plan... sucks

vhman's picture

I used to do sust and my estro was out of control. Couldn’t ever get stable. Then tried biweekly shots with test-c, but got tired of the pinning after a few years. Now on weekly shots and I’m very stable and able to deal with the pinning.
As for dose, only bloods and how you feel will determine that as you know. I’ve dropped down to 150 a week (from 200, then 180) and I actually feel better and more stable at that dose. Less sides as well.
There are lots of docs around. Get a list of who’s covered by your insurance and try a few out.

MedDx's picture

Good info

Rockin's picture

I agree,,, I will need to lower the dose... 150mg felt good to me too for years and my level would be 700-750... it won't take me long and I'll be able to dial it in... I have only been doing this 8 days so it will take a while longer for me to feel normal again.

herpjunkie111's picture

I recently started taking mt2 and that has to be pinned every day for a few weeks in the loading phase. I just began using 30ga x 5/16" and I literally don't even feel it. before that I was using 27ga x 1/2", which isn't horrible, I also use that one for gear on my delts and ventroglutes (areas where I have no bf).

Maybe there's something to this ed subQ pinning. Guys that run gh and certain peptides pin ed. Just a thought anyway, not saying I'm sold on it, but might be worth a try. I just wonder about absorbtion subQ vs IM with a thick oil though, never tried it myself. We're talking much smaller amounts ed though, so not like a ML.

ECinfidel's picture

Before I started running my own trt, the Dr. I was with administered all his shots sub q. Apparently sub q shots allow for a more steady and consistent release of the compound. I've read a few studies to back this up as well. Having said that, I do all my pinning IM. More options and you really are hamstrung regarding just how much oil you want floating about sub q.

Rockin's picture

Right now at just 30mg/day the amount of oil for the Sust is only 10iu so it's a tiny amount... I have absolutely no soreness or lumps etc from the shots...

ECinfidel's picture

300mg e/w is basically a low dose cycle. I dont know why any doc would have someone on that high of a dose.

ECinfidel's picture

That's odd. Even w/your baseline serum in the tank as it was, most guys would be testing at around 600-700 on half that dose. I know I was.

ECinfidel's picture

Sorry to hear that man, but I'm glad you're well. Good on you for switching Drs and staying on top of your bloods. They dont lie.

herpjunkie111's picture

I'm on 150/week test c and tested in the high 1100's. On 100/week test c I was 960'ish.

ECinfidel's picture

Yeah I"m at about 1100 as well at 160 wk. Funny, when I was at pinning 150 wk using pharma i was only at just above 700.

herpjunkie111's picture

I get better results off a product other than my pharma as well. Could be that it's a bit overdosed or could be better absorbtion. I would get little knots for a couple/few days with the pharma, I don't get that with my preferred test c.....

ECinfidel's picture

Same. Honestly I'd prefer accurately dosed gear. But once you run bloods, which should always be done when switching labs, it's easy enough to dial in. Although I'm pretty sure my "fellas" took one for the team when I jumped to the rockstar test. Lol

herpjunkie111's picture

I haven't noticed any difference in the fellas since switching, but I have thought about dialing it down a little when this cycle ends and go back into the 900's so my receptors aren't wrecked and give my system a break. I'd like to keep seeing good gains off simple cycles for as long as possible.

ECinfidel's picture

Had a similar thought recently. I've got a 12 wk cycle planned for August, and was thinking keeping my levels on the high end for about 3-4 wks post cycle, just to aid in maintaining some gains, end then taking it down a notch for a bit to let things cool down.

herpjunkie111's picture

Sounds like a solid plan, what I need to do as well. Pop that in my dosage calendar. May end cycle at 200 and taper down 25mg/week to 150, hold steady for a couple weeks, then taper slowly down to 100 and stay there until next cycle.
