You're on STEROIDS!
So i've been working out at a gym close to work (walking distance) for a little over a year now. When I decided to do the documentary I requested permission to film inside the gym. They were excited to let me film there until the "S" word came into it.
You see it's owned by one man, and so he gets to make the call as to whether or not I can film there. I was dissapointed, but understood. It just meant that I had to film at the other two gyms I work out at, and I don't go to those nearly as often. Just a little pain in the ass.
Anyway, today I'm in the lockerroom getting ready to hit the weights and the owner walks in from the shower, and drops his towel right in front of me, and on both sides of his ass I see nice bruises. You know the ones you get when you hit a vein or artery while injecting?
So I called him out right there in the lockerroom in front of at least 10 guys. He readily admitted being on TRT, and I said, "So you're on steroids, but you wouldn't let me film here because my documentary is about steroids?"
It got pretty heated, but I didn't swing at him or anything, Just called him a hypocrit, and spineless jackass.

CleyonI don't disagree, my no bull-shit nature took over though. I pulled him aside today at the gym and apologized for calling him out in front of everyone. We had a pretty good talk, and he's actually going to let me do limited filming at the gym.
Just to add more substance to the story, that letter was sent almost six months ago. I hadn't worried about it since. I'm not a vindictive guy, I felt the same way you do about it. I was just hit by the rank hypocrisy yesterday, and went on autopilot. All said and done, it worked out for the best.
CleyonFor refference, here is the email that he sent me to tell me that we couldn't film at his gym. Maybe you guys will understand a little better why I called him out after reading it.

I have read the film outline you sent, and can NOT allow filming of your documentary at Exxxxxxxxx, or any of the other gyms which are a part of xxxxxx xxxxxxxx which I own. The fact that you would choose to make such a film and put your personal wellbeing into jeopardy for whatever reason is questionable at best. There is NO safe way to use steroids, and making a propaganda piece intending to glorifying them is nothing I would ever condone.

as ac89 said, dont think he would of said no because he was pretending to be against them, if anything, he would of just wanted to protect his business with not been associated with illegal drugs, which unfortunately people who dont know any better assume steroids is on the same level as other illegal substances. if i owned a gym, i wouldnt want people thinking only juiced up guys workout there cos the majority of people that train dont take it to the same level as we do and they'd probably be put off.

Sounds like somethin I would do, if I feel jaded by someone like that it f'n eats my brain up until I say somethin. I stew on it... If I was in your shoes there, and didnt say anything, I would have ran it over and over in my head about what I should have or could have said all night and just got more and more pissed... OCD maybe?

He probably said no because he wanted to protect the image of his gym to keep people coming in. Most ignorant people would compare steroids to other hard drugs and people might go to another gym.

I think it might be worth approaching the gym owner again (one-to-one) and say I know you're on juice, i'm on juice, all i'm trying to do is create an informed unbiased documentary which educates people about steroids and if you want I can make the gym name anonymous
