Wipe off the top of the vial

Hi guys, i forgot to wipe off the top of the vial with an alcohol wipe when pinning today. Is it that bad? How is likely the risk of contamination for forgetting it one day?
And how could i tell afterwards if the vial is contaminated? What are the signs? Thanks

Testrogen_PropC...I used to alc wipe the top of the vial every time I drew a shot, but since I recap the little flip off top after every shot drawn, I now just alc wipe the stopper on a brand new vial and call that good for that bottles life. Not that big of a deal as long as you store it in a clean place and re-cap the top. If I dropped the vial, then I'll alc wipe the stopper again. Pretty much just use common sense and you'll be fine. Always alc wipe injection site and always use brand new pins

Thanks guys... And what about the vial itself? Will i be able to notice anything if its contaminated? Its is properly stored i showered and before touching the vials i cleaned my hands with antibacterial liquid. Then i pinned the vial with a sterile 21g, extracted the amount and then changed to a 23g for injection. I did wipe off the vial with an alcohol swab a t the end, but forgot to do it before.
Is it safe to use that vial next time?

I wouldn't worry about it. If it starts to look cloudy or you see floaters in it then it is time to worry.
If you get an infection then it is bad, if you don't then you lucked out. Remember to wipe the top next time.
Richard.SimmonsYou should be ok unless your using improper storing, don't store or transport vials in clothing or pockets. DO NOT re-enter a vial with a needle or syringe after you used it,that vial will be used to again to withdraw medication again. Don't pool or combine leftover contents of vials for later use,if it has not been properly stored after opening you should be fine. Just remember proper administering an injections next time.
