+ 2 Where are the concert junkies around here?
ad
Concerts are easily my largest "for fun" cost every year. I spend several thousand every year on tickets. Whether it's some shit hole dive bar or a giant arena i love them all. A few of the shows i have coming up are
Nine Inch Nails
Marilyn Manson
Bullet for my valentine/Trivium
Static X/Gwar
Sevendust
Ice Nine Kills
Papa Roach/Rise Against
Wednesday 13
The Used
Who's Live Anyways
Nine Inch Nails puts on some of the best live shows i've ever seen. I've seen them about a dozen times now. Blink 182, Metallica, Slipknot, Face to Face and Sevendust are up there as well.
So what shows do you boys have coming up? And who's put on some of the best shows you've ever seen?

I've seen a lot of those bands you've listed you got coming up. Rise against was really good. I've seen the used like 5 times even though i don't like them that much but i'm from utah and so are they, so they're always playing there. Sevendust was really good too, very underrated band. I used to go to a lot more shows, it seems like the price of concerts has skyrocketed in the last few years.

Ive seen NIN like 10 times. TOOL 12 times. Last time in NY I had 7 row floor seats. Center of the room is always the best spot for tool show.
Trying to catch em in DR next month with primus and mastadon. NiN I'm seeing in Boston and hopefully Spain + Portugal back to back at festivals. Think manson is in Portugal with them. Slipknot in Ohio.
First concert was 50 cent in 2003 at jones beach.
Ultra music festival 7 (2005) was my first "rave"
Spent alot of time in NYC, the Hamptons, jersey, Miami.
Masnon came to NY a few years ago and basically nodded out on set for a half hr... it was sad. Every other time I've tried to see him something happens. He gets rained out. I go to rehab. Etc. But I'd like to see him before he or I die.
Ive seen korn and Rob zombie together... more times than I can count. Idk it's almost gotten old at this point it barely excites me.
Before covid... FJB BTW... I had tix to TOOL, NIN, and RATM all the same summer. I was really excited for that.
I wanna go to the sphere and see a show. Thats def on the bucket list. Red rocks also.
Oh and ive been to raves and shows around thailand. Never an official full moon festival. I heard they're shit shows
This will be 12 or 13 for my nin shows. I've never been disappointed with any of them. I got to hear Manson play once almost 30 years ago. I got dragged to work to help my parents when I was 14. They always worked late. Across the street was a small music venue. Manson played when portrait of an American family was getting popular. So I got to sit outside and listen from across the street since I was bored and had nothing to do until they were ready to leave.
I missed out on my first knot fest because of the covid bs. Live nation required vax passports or a negative test done with 72 hours of show entry. I went and got a test feeling completely fine. Only for it to come back positive. I had to eat something like $700-800 for those 2 tickets as it was the day of I got the test. I did get to see them a couple years later but it wasn't a knot fest show. I also got to see Primus years ago when they did their charlie and the chocolate factory tour. All the umpa lumpas dancing around on stage will they played the entire music catalog from the movie plus some of their own stuff. Claypool is an amazing bass player. Primus, a perfect circle and pucisfer are touring currently and coming to a large city within driving distance. Id like to see Primus again but Maynard never really did it for me. The first tool album was good and i remember those messed up claymation music videos they did when I was in middle school. Id like to see tool just to say I did. But his other bands I don't really care about. Almost went to see tool once. Bought tickets for a show and booked a hotel for the birthday of a girl I was seeing. And then things fell apart on her birthday before I ever gave her the tickets. So I sold them.
P eople give Maynard all the credit but adam jones should get most of the credit for tool. They're all great in their own respects but... TOOL is really Adams Jones n company's brainchild.
I saw primus at... gathering of the vibes in CT Bridgeport in like... I wanna say 2009... I wasnon the rail all day waiting for primus n caught em front row. That was dope.
Ive never been into ICP but... gathering of the jugglolos is on my bucket list just bc of how down all them fools are.
I just saw Marilyn Manson and Five Finger Death Punch. Slaughter to Prevail was an opening act. Never heard of Slaughter to Prevail until they took the stage. Holy shit they were awesome. Marilyn ,FFDP, Slaughter to Prevaill all put on an incredible show.
Going to see ZZ Top in a few weeks. Still love their music. Saw them when I was 14. Was my first concert.
Saw AC/DC on their Ballbreaker tour. Was nearly a religious experience. Love that band.
Saw Rob Zombie multiple times. First time was on the Educated Horses tour. Was a small venue and the single greatest concert I've ever been to.
Going to see Metallica in June. This is a bucket list show for me. I've always wanted to see them live.
Edited to add if anyone hears of Parkview Drive coming anywhere in the southeast US tag me, DM me, throw a brick at me. Do anything necessary to let me know.
Parkway drive gonna be apart of the summer of loud tour
Literally bought tickets today with a pre-sale code. Thanks for remembering brother!
Of course man!
Id love to see slaughter one of these days.
Im gonna have to check em out
Slaughter to prevail is an amazing band!
I'm a huge fan now. Love their music!
Did you mean parkway drive?
Shit! Yes. Sorry about that. Love their music and would love to see them live.
I'd like to go to Marilyn Manson concert.
Also Exodus show since they brought Rob Dukes back. Fingers crossed for the entirety of BBB live and a couple of the mid 00s - early 10s songs.
I was in 8th grade when the Lunchbox single came out and i listened to that thing on repeat on my discman for weeks. I loved Portrait of an American Family in middle/high school. I've gotta say sobriety seems to agree with the guy. He's looking healthier than i've seen him appear in 20 years.
I want to see imagine dragons live.
They're dope I'm prettybsure ive seen them in new york at Electric zoo one year. Can't be too sure tho
I got to see them live around 10 years ago. They had just become popular and were playing at this weekend festival Budweiser put in in a near by city. I was there to see nine inch nails and queens of the stone age. They put on a decent show. I haven't really heard much about them since besides that they got crazy popular.
Why the hell is Gwar still doing shows without Oderus Urungus? Why the hell do bands keep doing that? Did they see the Misfits continue without Glenn Danzig and think "Wow they sound like fucking shit now, we should do that".
I was lucky enough to catch them before his passing
I've never seen them live. I always wanted to. Their music is mostly mediocre ngl but their attitude and the LARPing tier costumes and stage acts all 10/10. Man I'm so sad I missed that boat. How was it?
Great show, over the top, and I left drenched in blood! 10/10
I will guess I’m in the minority, but I practically refuse to pay for concerts anymore. I have always had experiences that weren’t impressive, but my expectations could’ve been too high. Unless it’s a gift or someone I care about reallyyyy wants to go you’re rarely find me at a concert. Especially not on my own dime.
I do love music, but something about being packed in with 10,000 random people and listening to something I could listen to mixed/mastered on a better system sits wrong with me.
When I was younger I was all about it though!
It's cause your sober now lol.
I've been sober for years now and i still love live music. I do prefer smaller shows with several hundred people to giant arenas though.
Idk man I don't think I'd REALLY enjoy a show without some Molly or something. I'll still go to them, the experience just isn't the same as it used to be.
Shows are waaaaaaaay better on psychs but... I cant even remember most of any of the shows that I was high at. Going sober is great bc you remember things.
I haven't rolled in years but i would with the right person. I do take small doses of mushrooms before a bunch of shows. Anywhere from .5-1g. It's not enough to give you more than some slight eye wiggles. But it puts you in a really relaxed and social mood where you want to go do stuff. Thats about it for anything mind altering these days. I'm really bad at having casual relationships with addictive, mind altering substances. So i just avoid them all together now.
Hahahaha you’re probably kinda right.
More so having a greater sense of financial responsibility and not thinking that is worth the money or time I would have to spend.
Now I have had some crazy Trips & Rolls and that’s the only time I really enjoyed EDM live lol. May have partly been the naked slutty girls everywhere hahaha.
Papa Roach is still putting on concerts?? Holy shit. That’s stuff from my childhood playing damn Tony hawk video games.
This will be my first time seeing them. Def a bucket list thing. They even just put out some new music not too long ago that's decent. The first 2 tony hawk games had amazing soundtracks. A good mix of bands i already loved and ones i came to love. pretty sure that's the first place i ever heard Less Than Jake as the song All my best friends are metalheads was one TH1.
Man I love outdoor amphitheater concerts in the summer. We did Avril Lavigne (wife’s choice) past summer and was a great show! Way better than I expected! Was first show we took our kids to. Love the reggae rock festivals too! Hard to beat a tropedelic show on a beach somewhere !!
Avril is looking pretty damn good these days. You wouldn't think it's been 20 years since she was a pop star.
anvilWhy thank you. Oh you said Arvil..nevermind
Man you aren’t lying!!! She looked great! Sounded great & had awesome stage presence! Simple plan was with her also, they rocked too!
I genuinely think the multiple actresses playing Avril Lavigne and her being an industry created character is why she still looks good.
Haven’t been to a concert Ina long while. Will start with the most memorable then name off the rest.
Rammstein (back in 2011! by far the best concert ever!) I almost fainted multiple times bc of the heat coming from the pyrotechnics and fell a couple times and almost couldn’t get back up! Some Viking looking dude picked me up from the shirt like nothing said be careful you can get trampled and die then through me in the pit lmao. Nothing but monsters in the pits!
Red hot chilli peppers - paid 800 for 7th row tickets for stadium Arcadium tour. It was fun but calm.
We butter the bread with butter - this was there first show and tour in US. It was a very intimate show with less then 100 people if that. I dominated the pit and got dap from them. So that was cool.
Trivium - the crusade tour got a guitar pic from Matt heafy and shit singed from Corey. It was in small venue which I always prefer so up front the whole time
Insane clown possie - I moved to Ohio and became great friends with a jugallo. I mean this dude was dripped in icp tattoos his wife aswell. This dudes children only wore jugalloo gear. Hey knew my bday was Nov1st so he invited me to there biggest “gathering” on Halloween in Detroit Michigan. Fuck it I went and I have to say it was the second best concert I had been too. Shit was crazy. My ribs and chest were bruised from the force of the crowd pushing me against the railing in the front. Bitches were down for anything. And I mean anything.
I will say I almost got jumped. I dont dress like these people I was flamed up. Red and black Js long socks. I looked like a Norteno from cali well bc I am lmao. They started asking me who I was with why I dressed like that and what I was doing at this concert. I remember thinking am I about to get jumped but some fags who dress like fuckin clowns. Luckily the guy I went with realized I was gone for a minute and started looking for me. As shit is about to pop off this dude starts yelling. Next thing you know he’s talking about you aren’t a real jugallo. If you were you’d respect who I brought blah blah blah. They apologize to him then to me and I just remember thinking this is gay as fuck lmao. Still had an amazing time fucked around with 2 bitches tits everywhere crowd hyped as fuck. I had such a great time the next day I decided to give them a listen. They are fuck trash!! Lmao I can’t listen to that shit at all, not one good song but holy shit can they throw a fuckin concert.
Havok
Toxic holocaust
Whitechapel
Gwar
Nine inch nails
Ill Bill
Vinnie Paz
Immortal technique
Big daddy Kane
Salt n peppa
Ice cube
Del the funky homosapien
Atmosphere
Hell yeah I wanna go to gathering of the jugolos. Looks like a good time.
Rammstein concerts are the shit,!!!!!
I listened to ICP back in the 90s as a rebellious teenager. I think it was the great milenko album. It's nothing i'll listen to these days. But i wouldn't mind throwing it in a few of those jugalettes. So long as they have no way of tracking me down afterwards.
I've got my first Gwar show coming up. I've been told no tot wear anything i care about to the show as it may get covered in fake blood. I've seen Trivium maybe a half dozen times so far. They're awesome in person. I saw them open for Sevendust maybe 8 years ago and kept coming back for more after that.
Definitely don’t. I was drenched in that shit. I left that concert looking like a whore after a bukkake scene lmao. I recently decided to revisit trivium so I looked up a greatest hits mix on YouTube and I realized I hadn’t listen to them in hella long lmao. I didn’t know I single song off that shit.
Might drop mad scratch on some snake pit tickets for Metallica. I’m not sure yet. They are number one for me but I have yet to see them live. I should have gone to S&M2 I dropped the ball on that.
I got to see Metallica last summer for the first time. Great show. But it was a lot of money for just ok seats. I'm glad i went but i wouldn't spend the money to do so again.
Yes extremely overpriced but I’d look to see them atleast once. How was the used concert lmao! I have to ask did you go to go or did you take a female? Not my cup of tea but the females that listen to them is 100 ima tryna smash.
It was a 2 day show. They played a different set each day and had different openers fo reach show. I went the first day with a friend and the second with the gf. I'm pretty sure the tickets were over 600 each after fees. They're doing the same thing currently with the double shows. Though you can buy individual show tickets if you wait a little bit.
The show was good and im glad i went. It was another bucket list concert. I started listening to Metallica in 5th grade when the black album came out. They were my introduction to metal. So it was worth the money and time but i wouldn't do it again now. They sounded great though. It's just for that much money i expect much better seats. It was over a grand per seat to get down on the floor. My tickets were over 600 each after fees and i was maybe 150'+ away.
I had a really close cousin that came from mex to live with us. He was heavy into drugs but far from gangs unlike most of my family. He showed me Metallica, rammstein, and slayer when I was around 12yrs old. If it wasn’t for that guy showing me these bands I would have never played drums or guitar and possibly had a harder time getting out of that life. I didn’t hang out with metal heads bc the life style wasn’t the same and I couldn’t relate bc of upbringing but I also didn’t necessarily fit in with the homies. I got down I was ready for action but I listened to metal lmao. I wasn’t slapping northern expozure lmao. Then deathcore came around and it spoke to my soul. All the hate violence and emotion wrapped up in bone crushing breakdowns. Basically what I’m saying is metal saves lives lmao
I read that last post wrong. Didn't notice you asked about the used not metallica. I've seen the used a few times so far. I think i've gone with a girl every time so far. They upcoming show is them doing their first album in full. They're doing 3 shows at each venue playing 1 of their first 3 albums entirely. I'd love to go to all 3 shows. But the venue is 90 minutes away and 2 of the 3 shows is during the work week. So i picked their first album which IMO is just slightly better than their second. If it wasn't for Blue and Yellow i'd probably have chosen the 2nd albums show.
I dont know them like that I just know I have a thing for females who like that kinda music.
