ad

Alright I see all kinds of Topics on all kind of different things. So here's one ? What Kind of dog or dogs do you have?? The reason I ask is when I was younger I had a great friend that was a big boy 250 lbs 10% bf he was only 5'6" with no cardio his dog fit his personally ! He had a English Mastiff. They say dogs are mans best friends??

Pmob has 2 Great Dane and 1 English bulldog. Love em !

Catalyst's picture

My mate has an English bulldog. Fantastic dog, definitely one I'd consider. They like the rough stuff too, which will work with Mr Husky here.

I've got a chocolate lab. I love that e damn dog and without him I would honestly probably never cardio. He is just so damn hyper I have to run him at least three miles/day. Great dog

Cane Corso. Big mastiff with an attitude. You shouldn't deliberately go looking for a Alpha in the litter because they will always test your patience! He is always pushing the boundaries! Believe it or not he is a well trained dog too!

Them mofo's are very protective

My buddy has one but his is a female. She was hard as hell to train but now that she is trained she is a great dog. He rescued her (fuckin purebred cane corso at the animal shelter!?!) so she was a little bat shit crazy at first

We have a Siberian husky at home, she's a good dog. Thinking of adding another one to the family and a companion, leaning towards a German Shepard.

Catalyst's picture

We have a husky too, male, 3 years. Fantastic dogs.

brandoc84's picture

Both beautiful and very loyal companions. As i kid i grew up with a Shepard. He was super aggressive to ANY ONE outside of my family but remains one of the most loyal, protective, intelligent dogs that i have ever owned or even been around. It was scary how fuckin smart that dog was.
Smokey Bear was his name.....and i will never forget him.

GATORNATION's picture

Right now I don't have one, but we recently lost our English Mastiff. The most loyal breeds you can find. He would sit at the front of the yard and watch people as they walked by if the kids were playing. 225lbs of teddy bear (he was the runt of the litter)...lol

I'd love to get another one some day.

Sorry to hear that. Lost our Labrador about 8 months ago. Still can't have pictures of her around. When you're ready, go get another dog. We got a rescue dog soon after, distracted us and I now have a great new best friend.

GATORNATION's picture

Thank you. I've thought about rescuing a mastiff. I probably will eventually.

Glad you guys gained another family member. The others are never replaced or forgotten that's for sure.

Husky lab mix, most lovable dog I've ever met

only1cat's picture

I have a 68lb American pit bull who thinks that everyone he see's is supposed to pet him. I've had him for 7 years now as a rescue dog.
I also have a fat, no a FAT Jack Russell who was given to us upon my wife's grandfather's death.

Last I have a long haired chiuhiuha, she is the most amazing little dog I have ever seen. We got her because she was going to go to the pound at 1 years old. The people was moving and didn't want to take her.
All of my dog's are more or less rescue animals, and would never ever want anything to change that we got them, to take care of them.

Right now nothing, BUT I will say this- when it comes to getting a dog, I am fucked. I have a wife and 2 beautiful daughters, ages 4 & 2...we have went to look at dogs a couple of times, and true to being a little girl, they both always go for the damn teacup Yorkies and cacapoodles and whatever other hybrid of two small, annoying, high pitched barking dogs these freak breeders can come up with. When my wife and I first met, she had a blue nose and I had an American pit terrier, and they were awesome, but our move into an apartment forced us to let a friend Adopt them. So I have shown the girls pits, labs, and retrievers, anything with some size that dad can play with and enjoy too, but no. I am doomed to have a 3lb dog with a perm and little bows in its hair who will bark at the shadow on the wall and leaves falling in the yard...FML, SMH....

3 year old female pug. Hahaha. She's the most ridiculous animal on the planet and sometimes I hate the licking, snoring, snorting. But damn it I love that little dog. Shes the most loving little dog I've ever known. She's my profile pic too. Haha. And yes at 6'1" 235 lbs 12% I do get funny looks while walking my 17 lb pug with her pink harness. And I wouldn't want it any other way!

Red Nose pitts.. One male One female.. Female has had 2 litters so we tied them tubes!!! Best dogs Ive had. Dont shed, listen very well. Most obedient dogs. Also great with kids.. They have had bad raps for the fact they will do ANYTHING their masters want, so if someone wants to fight em they will without question.

For the record, Iv'e had terrier, shepard, bulldog, chow, etc..

BlackDoug's picture

My favorite dog is one that doesn't poop in my house! Anything beyond that is just a bonus ......

As the name suggest we like dogs that run fast and bite hard. I have had german shepards in the past and currently a begian malinois. Every dog I have ever had was a working dog that worked or competed for a living. Most were spoiled rotten also. But there will always be a special place in my heart for Dos. He was a beautiful bi color shepard. For those that follow the lines he was a Fero grandson with Barenfang mother. He was special. Full super hard grips, very intelligent. That dog would literally beat your ass qhen muzzle training. We had so much fun together. I miss him.

I have a pit bull 10 years old, a jack Russell about 10 years old, and a chiuhiuha 3 years old. All house dog's all pet whores!

wolvesreign's picture

I like big dogs like danes and mastives but they can have so many health probs and their longetivity is so short. Went with a black lab. She's very large for her breed at 110lbs. Thats more then enough dog for me.

Hell yeah! A Saint Bernard.... Super smart and great with kids. Downside major shedders so gotta keep me clipped

LadyLuck's picture

Pitts. Forget the stigma. They are the best, most loving dogs around. Used to be called 'nanny dogs' because of their gentle nature with children and family.

Darktide's picture

My family has had 100% good fortune will bull breeds. I have friends with Chows that have been very temperamental. I hate to stereotype a breed because a lot of answers will come from people's experiences. So personally do the research on the particular dog you have in mine rather than just the breed. Than bring your son around the dog to see their interaction is what I would suggest.

I believe this is more prudent than recommending one breed over and other as far as temperament. Now as in door or outdoor some breeds are definitely incline to one or the other as far as energy etc.

rolltide3's picture

I agree totally my son just turned 3 and bigger hyper dogs scare him a little. Iv always been a huge dog person and just wanna find the right dog to make sure my son shares the same passion

Cooldiver88's picture

My husky does fine inside as long as she gets to go out at least once a day and gets some exercise. Far as with children I have seen my 4 year old boy do some crazy shit before I could catch it and who knows what I haven't seen to her and she just takes it like a champ and plays with him. She is so careful with him man, when I go out to walk her and he tags along she will walk beside him so he doesn't wander off from the sidewalk, not that I would let him but the fact she puts herself in front of him to block it is a testament of its own. http://www.dogbreedinfo.com/siberianhusky.htm

Oh and they talk man, it gets ridiculous sometimes when I get home and have to listen to a story in dog howls and I am expected to respond. Love her though, couldn't ask for a greater addition to my family.

rolltide3's picture

I agree a dog is a great addition had a black lab but he got hit. So thinking bout a new dog how bad does she shed

Cooldiver88's picture

She doesn't shed persay, huskies will blow their coat 2x a year and that last about 1-2weeks, the earlier if you brush her everyday and help it come off. I take her outside when I brush her and just let the fur fly in the wind.
