Weird and Wonderful Training Methods

I'm on holiday in Mexico as we speak. Beautiful weather, outstanding hotel, endless supply of quality food. What more could a man ask for?

More plates in the gym, that's what. It's all machines with a few token free weights, (50lb dumbells). This morning doing a shoulder workout, I gathered up every plate in the gym giving me about 180lbs....... This isn't going to work, then the cleaner walked in. I had an idea.

My Spanish is pretty basic, her English similar. I wave $10 at her and get her to sit on the bar on the smith machine. Now I've got about 300lbs. I don't think she realised what she had agreed to until I started pressing her + plates up and down. She gave me a very confused look, somewhere between fear, confusion and delight with her $10 lol.

Job done. Shoulders pumped.

Anyone found themselves in this sort of scenario done anything similar????

Yeah, I dont think it was the $10 she was delighted with...probly the big, studly monster gruntin an heavin underneath her! Bet that bar was a little slicker by the end of THAT workout!

Last time I went that room they call a gym was depressing...

Similar experience in Nepal, but minus the fat chic.

Went to a neighborhood gym (as opposed to a tourist hotel gym). The average Nepali is short and slender, maybe 5 2". 120 lb. While they are world renown for their endurance (Sherpas on Everest) they are not generally known for brute strength.

I had to wander through the gym gathering up all of the 20 kg weights to do my workout. I am definitely not exceptionally strong, definitely not Eroids strong (58 yrs old, 230 lb.) but in that gym I was a god!

Everyone in the place was staring and whispering to each other. I think they never saw anyone bench 300 before.

So if you want to be king of the gym but don't want to work too hard to get there, don't get bigger, just go where everyone else is smaller!

Works with other issues too. Can't get a bigger schlong, so get a smaller woman. Yep, my wife's Nepali.

Lol - that's very true. I train in an environment where there's a lot of big strong guys. It's a long time since I've been aware of people stopping what they're doing and watching me!
