Trainers . . . what a joke!
I circulate through 7 gyms here and see dozens of "Personal Trainers". In fact, safe to say about 30 of them. One and only one is a guy who competes and I might ask him something if he wasn't such a wound up prick.
All these people hiring these "fit" kids. Well who isn't "fit" when they are 20 years old? Is it just status as to who can waste the most time and money instead of actually learning and doing something?
Funny as hell the juice monkey at the closest gym is ON cycle and looks like he is on A-Bombs and ice cream. Smoother then a baby's ass with a 40lb head. JOKE!!
But I tell you what he has a new moron every time and even had paramedics there couple weeks to take away his 86 year female client he almost killed with all his 15 minutes of expertise.
Buy a book, pick some exercises and learn where those movements make you sore and where you want to grow. Eat like a somewhat intelligent human and BE CONSISTENT.
This doesn't take magic pills or some lame with a certificate, it takes YOU and that is the beauty of the whole thing :-)

You don't even need a book, there is an abundance of knowledge on the web to learn anything and everything.
I agree with most of the post. I think allot of the problem is "certified" trainers dont know or understand what there doing really doing. I have yet to see a trainer sit down with a client and go over current diet and or plan a new one. Let alone explain the exercises there puttting these people through. Most of the exercises the trainers put these poor people through makes me stand back and go "WTF are you doing?" The one trainer ive seen at the gym id even consider training me is on Gear. All the others look like they have barly set foot in the gym.
At my gym, 2 trainers worth a shit amongst many that aren't.
A-bombs and ice cream is one of my favorite cycles BTW.
AnonCommon sense would tell me: Hire a trainer that I want to look like, perform like or has lost 70lbs and now looks great. Dudes should hire dudes and chicks stick with chicks.
AnonThat is SO sexist ......
AnonOf course there are Real trainers out there but 30:1?
reminds me of a kid at my guy trainer who doesnt even pay attention to his clients had some kids doing dead lifts and by the end of the month i bet they will slip a disk never corrects there form and when its his turn to lift he starts yelling and screaming like he lifting a million plus pounds
New at this and not sure about the rules. But can I mention a trainer's name here? I'd like feedback on this guy. He owns a private One-on-One fitness facility in New York. Please let me know if its cool to ask about him by name.
beavisNO!!!
I was lucky that when I started working out at the age of 16, I had a great trainer that had 15 years of experience in lifting and contests.
Wasn't cheap, but at least I started out doing things right instead of wasting years and not getting anywhere. Such a cool guy, he always used to be extra brutal to me because he thought I had potential.
Same her, have a uncle who used to compet an he showed me what's up at a young age. Without him I would have been lost like so many others.
Yeah, most "personal trainers" are a joke every now and then you get a guy or girl who knows what the hell they are talking about but few and far between.
ItsNoelThis post is really good half the trainers where im at i go to different gyms are all fukin jokes and dont even fit the part.......... the only good trainer there is at the GOLDS GYM here that guy is worth the money really talented competes and very humble guy....
ha glad you posted this i have really been considering getting a trainer to try to take it to the next level but maybe ur right i just need to step my own game up
JtizzleJust do your homework , look for a national certification and don't get SOLD.. But if you can do it on your own you will be better off because of it IMO
Bro all it takes is a 2 day cours and you to can be called a "Personal Trainers". Its such a joke most of these guys have no clue what the hell they are doing. I had one blatantly come up to me whan i was on the cardio machine and tell me " you now you shouldnt be doing cardio while on cycle, you will loss your gains" wtf. Funny thing is i was on pct at the moment.
2 days and 5-800 bucks depending on who you go to. Funny thing is a fat fuck can pay 500-800 bucks for a 2-3 day course and be a "certified" personal trainer. I have a B.S. in Exercise Science and the local gym wouldn't hire me because I wasn't "certified" as a personal trainer!!
Exactly, I feel bad for those fools who actually pay for one.
AnonAmen!
ItsNoelhe has a new moron every time and even had paramedics there couple weeks to take away his 86 year female client he almost killed with all his 15 minutes of expertise.
LMAO
AnonTrue story Brother!
