I would think it depends on your area. If you have multiple golds gyms and 24hour fitness nearby it's going to be hard to beat their prices. Those gyms usually always have nice locker rooms, multiple showers, full time cleaning staff, brand new equipment, tanning beds, as well as yoga classes, and many other features. Those gym also usually only charge $20-40 a month so it's going to be hard to compete with that.
Not trying to crush your dreams or anything. If you got the start up funds and a group of people interested then by all means go for it!! But just things to take into consideration.
All my area has is a ymca closes at 10 and opens at 6am!...no good size gyms no 24 hour gyms no golds gym within 150-200 miles id say! I can say that i no a good portion of the members wer i go wud deff b up for the gym cause it isnt an actual go hard or go home gym!..its more fitness and plays country music lol dont get me wrong sum countrys ok to losten to but come on on!...ill take those in consideration man preciate it
A gym can be a money pit man. If you have investors I would say go for it.
Yea thats wat i think to jus still playin options out fully thanks bro!
xub3rn00dlexYou could try getting a franchise running, but as i know noyhing about that i can't tell you much oyher than to contact a business.
I have looked n to that as well thats big money there!..i know tht for a golds gym franchise u r lookin at no less than 800,000 and no more than 1.2 million to startup!...i looked n to that and said uhhh no! Lol thanks man
You can get in at Anytime Fitness for much cheaper bro, I looked into it a few years ago but didn't get very far. I have no idea what the gyms are like though, never been inside one. Looks to be more of a Planet Fitness type of vibe so I'm not sure if that's something you'd be interested in.

They got all kinds of shit on there about how easy it is and what a great opportunity and franchising awards and whatnot but who knows.
Ive never heard of them man ill sure look n to it tho!....i aint much on a planet fitness, i got ask to leave one of them b for cause i droped deadlift on floor!...but thanks bro ill check n on it
The franchise just bought out my gym.
Same equipment, some remodel, new logo.
Basically a low cost, no frills, 24 hr gym.
When they took over they took out the sauna, reduced the amount of shower and bathroom stalls, and eliminated towel service.
The anytime did bro?...r they more like planet fitness? Or do u no
Yes, Anytime bought out the gym.
Nothing like planet fitness. Basically it's the same small town gym it always was. (wasn't a chain like Golds or 24 hour fitness)
Upside is that it is open 24/7 with member keyfob access (staffed only during business hours)
some new equipment added and replaced older stuff.
Downside is that they took away our sauna and larger restroom/showers (smaller restroom, fewer showers)
they also took away towel service (now you need to bring your own).
Without the laundry and larger restrooms/sauna they were able to expand the area for more weights and machines.
They also have a member access website to track and monitor your stats, goals, and progress. I personally don't use it but if you're running the place; might be a selling point.
Some ups and downs i c!...good info man thank u alot!
Yeah I guess 24 hour fitness would've been a better comparison. There's nothing quite as bad as Planet Fitness lol.

good luck in your endeavor man, I really hope you find what you are looking for!
All comes down to basic business. How many people could you get to show up and sign vs. the amount you pay for equipment/rent/insurance. Better off just investing in decent used equipment and getting a few friends to pitch in.
Ic wat ur sayin bro thats a thought as well thanks for ur input!
