Thats what i been missing

ad

for years ive looked around and asked guys that where at my level of strength and size to train certain days together and always got flakes. I mean its been some time since i had a good training partner.

I been seeing these kids train at my gym now for awhile, almost anytime i go there they are there. maybe 20 years old, they both weigh about 150, they stay there for like 5 hours everyday and havent made any changes since they started.

So a few days back I hit them up and ask them if they want to learn how to do some more intense training. We aint in the same ballpark weight and strength wise, but i just load the small weights first and then the heavy ones so theres not a lot of adjusting weights as we rotate between people.

First I was gonna work them in to some positive failure reps and see how they did, they where ready for more! Ok so how about some negative failure reps, they where ready for more! Ok then lets see what you guys think of drop sets, loved them! ok how about some drop sets to negative failure forced reps(I guess thats what they would be called), couldnt get enough!

a couple days now, man my body is in shock! woke up sore, body tight as hell. these kids are like a breath of fresh air. I went in thinking i would help them out but its a win win!

There is definitely something very rewarding about giving back. I train my cousin on occasion and just to know I put him through hell, he's in pain and furthermore is growing is rewarding!!Good on you for Giving back and not acting like you were too good to help the kiddos!

Had another younger guy that I suggested Viking weight gainer shake to a few weeks back come up and thank me yesterday. That was pretty cool. The real credit is not mine but obviously I can't tell him everything. The kid is in good shape and real low BF but wants mass, so I pointed him in the right direction. Food and lots of it.

its funny you just wrote this. 2 weeks ago a freshman in college asked me how i would feel about teaching him "everything i know". i said alright im down. this kid doesn't miss a workout. he is on time. does every set i do with less weight. he is a hard worker. ill keep training him if he sticks with it. i feel like he will turn into a beast in a few years.

You really made some changes since i first met you. Or at least you've opened up a whole lot. You seem to have gotten a sense of what it's all about again. Helping people. Being someone they look up to ,not shy away from. Not just your story in this post, but your demeanor on this site. With the members. The new mods. All around. It's pretty cool to witness. Awesome brother!

Over the summer I had a couple young 20-somethings I was working with. One needed a lot of help the other just needed to be pushed. They both made pretty damn good strength gains before work got in the way. It is too bad, the one really has good genetics. Anyway, me pushing them meant me pushing myself and I truly believe they played a big role in how successful my last cycle was. I preached to them about diet and training so it made me stick to it that much tighter.

Due to the falling out I had with my regular training partner I have been lifting primarily solo for the last couple months. While I enjoy the cracking jokes and camaraderie of training with people I also now realize I get a lot more done solo. That being said, I won't hesitate to help another couple young dudes that need it.

You got real lucky with those 2 in a sense. I tried to help 1 guy at my gym with their form and with their diet and training; not even a day later he was back to the worst form I ever seen and when I asked him he told me "Well my friend said that you are wrong and this is the right way to do it." Of course being the nice guy I am I told him your friend is a jackass and is going to help you out hopefully when you break your back.
1 more I am currently helping actually pays attention to what I am saying and now when he is in the gym we both train together and I am actually seeing some improvements. For every one jackalope there will be another that is not a lost cause who wants to learn.

See noid not all of the new generation are fuckwits. Good people are all ages ,good things often come from things and people that you wouldnt expect. The people ive learned the most from and have been inspired by are mostly older guys like yourself, but ive also met a few my age that really surprised me. I never doubt people any more untill they give me a reason ive trained with some older guys more than twice my age that were bigger and smaller and got my ass handed to me lol ive also trained with younger guys who i thought were not on my level who also surprised me.
