+ 2 Shit talkers.

ad

Lately I’ve been noticing this happening a lot. Everyone has something to say about the next guy and I’m not referring to on here. A friend of mine who is up and coming in the bodybuilding scene and just got signed as an athlete for a very well known company is killing it right now. My coach said “please tell me you don’t look up to (Jon Doe)” my coach also competes and went on to say oh he’s a terrible bodybuilder, he’s so short that’s why he looks so big, he’s too short limbed to be pro and on and on. I could give numerous examples but this is my thing.
Where did things turn into hating on the next guy? Not knowing somebody and judging them so viciously? I understand competitiveness but I also understand nod of approval for hard work. Why can we not lift eachother up, motivate one another to become better, because there is power in numbers. If this is how you act chances are you’re probably a shit person deep down, self centered and not a good person in life.

It baffles me that some are so quick to pass judgment on one another instead of recognizing the hard work they’ve put forth. You watch the old bb videos and those guys trained together, hung out together and pushed eachother. That’s the shit I wish I would see more of. Why can’t we all just get along?! Anyone else see this or understand what I’m trying to get at?

It really comes down to just jealousy and envy of others towards others its horrible and I really cant stand when people do it behind people's back it really upset me when rich pianna passed and the haters who were always there came out now that the man was dead and really started saying horrible things when most will never come close to winning a state competition.
Its really unfortunate that like you are saying we can't lift each other up or say straight to the person with constructive criticism and give it to him straight sometimes the truth hurts but 2yrs ago a guy named guitar player gave it to me straight and thats what lit a true fire under my ass to get me where I am now.

How Disrespectful is that to talk bad on a man’s name who is no longer here to fend for himself. Such a cowardly act.

I met a guy at the gym who’s in his late 40s who judges shows and just a massive human being he looks great. He started asking me if I thought about competing and this is when I started to consider it because there was also a few others who said the same to me. He said take your shirt off, the gym was completely packed and I was like right here? So I did and he made me do some poses and gave it to me raw, said this is good, this isn’t or build this up but instead of being an asshole he was doing it to help me grow as a person. He could’ve said your delts look like shit or you’re never gonna make it but he didn’t. I have more respect for that compared to the ones just running their mouth.

So much time spent online has desensitized people to the effects of their words on other. So much time is spent communicating and "socializing" without physical contact that people don't have a first hand account of their comments impact. I really believe this has carried over into life and real social interactions. There are no such things as empathy, respect or decency especially when dealing with a person we don't know.

Edit: and if you have the ability to physically dominate another and you exercise that, the guys that woof the loudest are the first to sign an affidavit....

A lot of great responses to this thanks guys, it’s nice getting other people’s point of view on it and gives me an opportunity to reflect on myself too.

Quick story. Got drunk at college party right after enlisting in army. Long hair. I was a hippy but excelled at sports. Drunk kid says I heard your going in army. I say yep. What are you going to do he asks? I said I am trying out to become an infantry airborne Ranger in the 75th Ranger Regiment. He laughed and said dude you will never be a Ranger. Never met the guy or ever saw him again. Every single day when I was in training when I was cold, hungry, hallucinating, I thought of that cock sucker who said I would never make it. The next 2 years I trained non stop, passed each and every single thing I was tested on and spent my entire time in special ops. That one kid who I never saw again who laughed at me gave me the strength to never quit. When people are negative use it for fuel for your life and goals. Then relax and smile

That’s some motivating shit! Thank you for your service and that’s a huge accomplishment. I can relate to a sense.
When I was 15 I started using drugs, graduates to the hard stuff at 18 and continued on with overdoses and wrecking my life for the next 7 years until I got clean. Everyone said I’d always be a piece of garbage, junkie, never go anywhere in life and I used all that as ammunition to show them wrong. When people put things like this in your head you end up believing it’s true too so I was also proving myself wrong. I never looked back and have made major accomplishments and achieved many goals that I made for myself. Those same people are the ones who have apologized and congratulated me too. Never stop doing what you believe in because of what someone else says. Help eachother out and grow.

Hello Sir,

This is a serious subject we can see and monitor this on a daily basis, I guess it is a competitive sport and we are like animals fighting for being the best by trying to get more respect from other animals like ourselves. That would not be a problem as we live in a competitive world where all the resources are limited and we have to fight for them and even though politician will say we are all the same, we all equal, that is not exactly true.
The problems start when, instead of putting hard work in, person starts expressing negative thoughts about others trying to raise his status in society that way. This person may feel better deep inside when trying to get others down however eventually he/she will realize that they are worth nothing.
I think the person that is willing to put some hard work and is ready to sacrifice something in his life is going to be the one that will succeed and this is related not just a sport but life in general. Person that is willing to give an advice, give a support and share his experience to educate another is going to be the one that will be successful.
All them people that talk negative things about others are more likely just sad and miserable people anyway, so they do not deserve our attention.

Regards

This was very insightful and exactly what I wish I could’ve put into words. Ignorance is bliss

That’s weakness being verbilized by said person. Human nature is to attack what you’re too lazy to work for and then blame everything else besides yourself. I have people in my life who know what it took for me to reach the level I have professionally and from a physique standpoint, like literally they’ve known me the whole time and what I’ve dine to get here. Instead of taking my advice or trying to replicate my work ethic they’ll bitch about how they deserve more and the world owes them, all while sitting on Facebook accomplishing nothing with their time. The world is getting soft and turning out new generations of pussy’s everyday.

My advice is to slowly remove those people from your inner circle. I think it’s better to progress through life solo rather than be surrounded by those who will drain your willpower over time.

I’ve been slowly removing negative people from my life and it’s been a weight off my shoulders not dealing with it. Keep grinding my man!

Life is a fight . Show weakness and you will be eaten. And very few people respect and adequately assess their rivals.

It’s not all like that. Sure there’s some, but you can also surround yourself with great people. The guys on here are always very encouraging and if you make a true training partner in the gym they are usually a friend for life. This lifestyle and passion has the capacity to bring us together, don’t let some bad apples mess that up.
