+ 3 Promo vs Non-Promo

ad

After doing a review for a recent promo I was questioned by the supplier. He has every right to know why I rated the way I did. I feel suppliers and members feel obligated to give 5 stars unless something drastic happened. Theirs is one question. That really doesn’t pertain to promos because it question value. I feel I would gauge suppliers based on previous experiences with other suppliers. I try to base everything off of my best experience.

I don't vote all 5's in a review and immediately I get PM's from sources asking why I didn't give them a 5 in a certain category. It is my damn review and I don't have to explain a damn thing to you. Read my review. It is self-explanatory.

That's not why they asked. The why you rated the way you did, is already obvious (or should be) from your review.
They ask, because they try to pressure you into voting 5 star.

Even when you're rating a free Promo, you're still assessing price-to-performance.

I’ve been contacted a few times, with sources asking why I didn’t give it 5 starts, which I reserve for exception service & situation. Otherwise, we handicap out own best resource for product & source comparison. Sometimes they’re polite, but I’ve also been asked directly to rewrite the review with all 5s across the board. Kinda shady. This is a valuable conversation.

Ok thanks BFG I didn’t want to say price just in case it’s a violation. I know they like to pressure but he didn’t pressure me he just inquired which I don’t blame him. I would want to know as well. My view is that we give 5 stars much too often so someone who did a decent job and someone who was an absolute superstar has the same rating sounds unfair to the superstar in my view. 5 stars should be rare because then we do t leave any room for guys who go above and beyond. Thanks BFG! When I saw a comment from you I thought I did something wrong hahaha. G

Yea the 5 rating system is universal as well as the problems that can be associated with it. Unfortunately nothing is perfect.

What’s up Dee! You know how it is. I feel obligated to give promo sources better ratings because they are doing us a favor but at the same time they wouldn’t be doing it if they didn’t benefit. It’s a win win all they way around but they do get screwed when guys don’t review. We owe it to our fellow members and sources to give very honest reviews. I have been on other boards and I feel BFG with the help of Greg and several other members like Makwa, Big Tone and so many others make Eroids the most legit. There are some other decent boards out there but they don’t have the traffic we have here. This plus the only board where you can post and be sure to get responses within minutes.

Wuz up brother. Nice post. You make a damn good point and yeah I understand where you're coming from. I mean just because you're in a promo doesn't mean there's an obligation to vote 5 across the board. Other factors do come into play at some point. Personally I agree a 4 isn't bad but some folks just don't see it that way. In my opinion promos benefit both members and srcs and not voting or fraudulently voting hurts members as well as srcs. It all goes hand and hand.

Thanks Dee! Guys like you can influence others to help make things more accurate. What is worth most and I mean most of active sources are all good so that makes it tough but that’s where we come into play.

This is a review site and I feel if everything went as expected it’s a 3 snd if it went really well it’s a 4 then if the entire process start to finish was above and beyond and exceeds expectations then that’s a 5. That’s just my personal view. I think that way it’s a better perspective what to expect. I have had orders that were significantly different experiences but they all were 5 stars.

most rating websites face the same issues, users voting either 0 or 5.
