So disgusted with the Hawthorne police officers in this video. They really failed America today. To watch that poor dog get shot when the cops were obviously in no danger at all, let alone the harassment and arrest of an innocent bystander. They could of done a million things tasered the dog, billy clubbed the dog, let the owner whos right there put the dog back but they didn't they chose to shoot and kill a innocent dog just doing it's job which wasn't even being that aggressive. the cops are the real criminals here and should be tried and prosecuted and anyone who defends them I have no respect for. I already called the Hawthorne police department and filled a complaint and I encourage you guys to do the same. They swore and oath to protect and serve our community and they failed us on so many levels today.

Lets say for instance that people love their pets like they were children. They would try to keep their children in a safe environment. If he wanted to screw with the police he should have taken the dog home and asked a neighbor to care for the dog. Instead he puts the dog in the back of a car. What is the dog sup[posed to do, sit in the car until he gets out of jail for what may be a day, two or three? Where is the dog supposed to shit? In the car? I know if I have something that I love, I am going to do my best to create a secure environment. It was a stupid dog that doesnt even know that it is not wearing pants. The cause of this dogs death is on the owners hands for putting it in this situation.
he didnt deserve to be arrested rather his dog to get shot. that was just a poor animal who was acting on instinct , atleast they should of tazed the dog. regardless a 60 lbs dog has less blood then a 170-190 lbs human, and its rare for a human to survive 3 bullets,hell my profession (EMT) allowed to pick up guys who got shot in the stomach once and they are gone in two hours , let alone the dog got shot three times and is confirmed dead.
AnonNo I dont think he "deserved" to be arrested, and no his poor dog certainly did not deserve to die that way , howver the fact is this guy invited this problem upon himself.
I have what I feel is a perfectly safe looking dog, and I have seen policemen put their hands on their gun as he walked up to them. I have in my stupid stupid youth, tried to fight the police on what I thought was right, and no good ever came from it.
So yes I agree there were far better ways to handle this , but I am in no way surpised at the way things turned out. Do I think there are scumbag cops, yes of course can you tell before its too late ? Not likely, so the lesson is just stay out of their way if you can, dont go looking for a problem.

Have you seen the video? The dog got shot from 3 feet away and it rolled around helplessly in the street squealing and suffering for about 1 to 2 mins before death. It is confirmed dead.
No I don't know for a fact the dog died. However even if he could have survived the multiple gunshot wounds how many people are gonna lay out the money to put their dog through surgery? Not many. Majority will just put the dog down and so if that's what happened and the dog survived until he made it to the vet that's god knows how long it lay there slowly dying and in pain. So yea personally I woulda fuckin put it down at the point it was already at
AnonI spent 7k on my dog after he got hit by a car. It was that or put him down. Im sorry but my dog is like a child to me. Luckilly I had the money, thats not always the case for me so there are times that same episode could have been tragic for me.
All Im saying is there is/was a possibility the dog could still have been saved. Yes the dog may have died that day, or very soon after, but was it because they did decide he couldnt be saved, or was it a slow death from his wounds.
