+ 1 My personal take on steroid abuse
I don't know where to post this but I figured it should go here. This is all based on personal experiences.
One reason why I think we see all these kids coming on here is due to America's view on drugs and steroids. One reason is we glamorize steroids here. When we talk about how powerful something is we say "it's on steroids." I've literally been hearing/using that phrase since I was 10. Kids hear this and automatically it's in our heads that steroids make everything bigger and better.
Second reason is we over exaggerate claims on steroid abuse. Look at how the world views Barry Bonds. The man was an amazing athlete, Hall of Fame worthy, before he even took steroids but he's shunned because we believe all his success was built on gear. Never mind he dedicated his life to this sport and he ate and trained with the sole purpose of being the best. No he used steroids therefore he didn't earn anything. Kids hear this and think "man if I take steroids, I'll be bashing home runs left and right."
Third reason is due to the medical community. On TV, we are plastered with ads from drug companies that can solve every one of your health issues if we just take this magic pill. I see so many patients come in who have type II diabetes and they start telling you what they've been eating (candy, sugar, soda, white bread etc) and you tell them that it's wrong to eat like that, they just respond "I'll take more insulin then." And the worst is doctors will just say "'maybe you should lose weight" but then write them a prescription anyway! Patients with high blood pressure eating potato chips and burgers. They'll take the drugs but won't change anything else about their lifestyle. In America, the pill can do all. No one practices health prevention. 75% of all patients I have seen would never need a prescription if they just took care of themselves. So we in America have adopted this attitude that we don't need to work hard to get what we want. 30 minute abs, 20 minutes to tone. No one believes in hard work and so the kids see this attitude and think steroids will solve problems of being small...it won't.
And the fourth reason is lack if strong parental figures in today's society in general. I know so many kids who abuse gear and you look and their parents never had any time for them. No one told or showed them how to be strong, not just physically but mentally an emotionally. So they look to compensate some other way and then they give in to peer pressure because they have no foundation. They want to get big and they see older guys juicing and instead of thinking or asking for support they go look for the quickest solution to their problems.
So if any kids happen to read this; train hard, be strong, eat smart and be dedicated. You take those principles and you apply them to life, you'll be great physically and emotionally. Don't go for the quick fix, go for the right thing

Wow very well said sir and agree completely are society is screwed up.
bigwillytop notch reading. I look forward to more from you sir.
Nice post:)...terrible the way society views things...steriods only helped Barry(not saying barry wasnt an asshole just agreeing that he was a HOF potential before AAS )because he trained and dieted like a bastard...and it didnt help that he was a great hitter before he added 50 lbs of power over 15 years(not over fucking night)...people think he took a shot in his ass or rubbed some cream on and he was magically bigger and stronger like bean stalk beans and the AAS must have tought him how to hit the baseball too...so how come arnold or any of us don't hit home runs like babe ruth...lol damn...
Todays society just believes everything is handed to them without any hard work or effort.
Exactly! I understand it can be hard, and sometimes you need a little help but I have friends that are running a gram of tren a week... A gram!... But their diet is shit and they wonder why they don't look good
There is no drug in this sport that works better than diet
Sirk1981Thanks for ruining my life. Lol. Diet is the most important thing IMO. Whether it's for general health, mental health, even sexual heath. But most people say fuck it I'll take a pill. I was in a horrible accident on Feb 4 and released from the hospital Feb 21. I didn't start to FEEL better until I got home and back on my diet. True I'm not going to be in the gym for months but, I feel my diet is playing the key role in pain reduction and healing. Check out my pics.
I've been cleared for 4 months now I was involved in a pretty big wreck while on my motorcycle, it was hard getting back into it for the first few weeks mentally but I'm training harder than ever now and feeling great but I'd recommend you some tb500 to aid in a speedy recovery
X2
Down UnderOh yes there is. A much, MUCH more powerful drug. It's effects are so strong and amazing, you'd be surprised more of the fitness community isn't using it. It starts with C.
Consistency.
