How Do You Justify Taking The Juice?

ad

I reckon most of us who first started working out, in our early days, swore to the heavens above, that we would, 'NEVER', take the juice.

But for one reason or another we're ALL taking it. (Or we wouldn't be members of ERoids, right?)

For me? I was sick and tired of seeing everyone else around me growing and getting MUCH stronger than I was. I was doing just as much, and in many cases, a damn sight more than most in the gym. More sets, more reps, more weight. Yet everyone else seemed to be leaving me behind in the growth stakes.

So I asked for, 'The Knowledge", from those big enough to know what they were talking about, bought what I needed and FINALLY started to grow.

I now justify my usage by this simple story.
"If I want to travel a hundred miles the hard way, I'll use a push bike, with two flat tyres and I'll train naturally. But when I want to travel the same distance, in comfort and get to the end of my journey as quickly as I can, the juice I buy is my f*cking Ferrari. The fuel my ride needs to complete the journey is the effort I put in to it".

That's MY justification to myself, anyway.

What's yours???

At my age,....I don't need to justify shit!!!

LOL

There's not alot that can be argued within that statement Smile

Justify?...I did always have a tough time growing a full beard, so that's why I turned to the gear. I was more into the interesting side effects.

No, seriously...I feel that I really don't have to justify. Why would I, because it is illegal in my country? It wasn't at one point and there wasn't a need to justify it then, so why now? At least that's how I feel about it. I guess some need a reason to justify their roid usage because it seems a good portion of the fitness world has a
superior attitude toward something they call 'cheating'. Funny...did this indifference happen in the Gold's Gym era too when The Oak and Lou and the rest of the Weider gang were delving deep into the dark abyss of performance enhancing substances?

AppleJuice's picture

The FDA forced me to start using gear. Why? Because all the CRAP legal supplements didn't do anything except make my wallet lighter. Besides, I bust my ass in the gym so I feel that I'm deserving of gear. I've EARNED the right to use it if that makes any sense.

JustAMate's picture

It makes TOTAL sense, Mate.

I've ALWAYS believed, "You'll ONLY get as big as your wallet".

And if the contents are being used up on powder suppliments that cost a small fortune and USUALLY don't do what they promise you HAVE to spend more wisely.

I like it...I feel better than before, better shape, stamina, energy for work, energy for workouts, maybe some ego trip in there by looking better, some attnetion that I had not had in years, did I mention sex?

JustAMate's picture

LOL. It does feel good walking down the isle of your local supermarket, listening to the, 'Not So In Shape', husbands growling at their wife/partner because she can't take her eyes off you. Ego trip? I can relate to that, Mate.

Im with you Tread. At my age it was really an educated decision and at the top of the food chain is where i grew up and kinda what to stay there. Health more than vanity.

ruski's picture

shit ive been saying this for years. before the thought of gear ever even crossed my mind lol.

JustAMate's picture

LOL The Tread-M has spoken

My motto. "Cuz i do what i want." My wife hears it everyday.

Beachbdygrl's picture

That's my motto too. I add the whateva, whateva, I do what I want to! In my head it's always in Cartman's voice from Southpark.

my testosterone levels have been consistently low and as a result caused fatigue, possible depression, as well as the obvious ectomorphic disfunction of almost nonexistent muscle growth. therefore supplementing testosterone properly and safely has improved all aspects previously mentioned. blood tests have shown that between cycles my test levels maintain normal range. but i do notice that when i am on cycle if stress levels are overwhelming this can lead to depression as well. so i have to be careful about dealing with stress when boosting my t-levels.

JustAMate's picture

I have to admit that I never get the off-cycle blues. (Maybe because I know they're hanging around on my shoulder, ready to jump in, I actively do all I can to avoid them taking hold). But the usual aches and pains from working out and not healing as fast as I do when I'm on the juice certainly does seem to make those little whispers of, "Let us in. We won't make you too sad", alot louder as I'm getting older.

But hey. Whoever said working out was easy, right?

Trained totally natural for 17yrs but my choice of competing on the national stage now leaves me with no other choice, other factors like the kids being all grown up and left home helps as we can now focus totally on the goal at hand, and the results that proper aas usage brings about is phenomenal.

JustAMate's picture

If you want to be as big as the guy next to you, you now have no choice.

Eminemsroyaltys's picture

All the work in the world and I couldn't ever catch the big guys....now with the juice I lift more than most amd holy fuck my entire frame grew and I've been "off" for a while yet my frame is permanently bigger.

The next one will be the big one ;)

That sucks! I was diagnosed with malignant melanoma a few years back. Had two procedures done to remove it. I've lost 4 close relatives in the last 3 years and another diagnosed last week with breast cancer. I don't know you but i'm glad you're ok brother!
