Heads up guys and gals
ad
Due to the covid 19 pandemic the large meat packi g plants are closing. And local meat producers and stuck with animals that were scheduled to be hauled there to be slaughtered. It's happening locally here. I know some of the smaller operations and they have animals ready to go and no place to take them. Causing prices on unprocessed animals to drop and processed to sky rocket. I'm getting a couple hogs myself for cheap and will process myself.

I just bought a chest freezer from a lady selling it in Facebook and bought a 1/4 of a cow. Filled it right up.
Have you cut up a hog before? I have a hard enough time cutting up the meat at a Sunday roast
I butcher my own wild game. I'm guessing it's not that tough. I'll debone everything and all the small scraps I'll run through my grinder. Get some different seasonings for the sausage and whahlla pork roasts chops and sausage. But then again I'm a dumbass so I'll fuck it all up somehow.
You tube it brother I’m sure it’s on there somewhere.
I have some old friends who did that many times.
Nothing better than making the white brats straight from your hog
Damn those are good if not the best.
Bacon always was too gamey for Me.
AnonIt all eats the same fucked up or not!
That sounds ace. By the 2nd pig I’m sure you’ll know what you’re doing, and have some quality bangers!
RustyhookerThis covid craps getting rediculous considering any virus never goes away.
TronI've heard some people saying it's even getting ridiculous.
Expound on that for me, Rusty.
Are you saying ANY virus never goes aw..... Yes... That's what you said... no sense in me typing it. I just don't understand. I'm going to have that stuck in my head now. "any virus never goes away" "any virus never goes away" "any virus never goes away" "any virus never goes away" "any virus never goes away" .......that's enough of that.
RustyhookerVirus' dont go away. Meaning its not going to be destroyed. We as humans build antibodies to fight off virus etc. All a virus can do is adapt and change from its origional form to the next stage
Covid has a science based paper trail showing its man made and a splinter off the sars.
Virus wont go away...look at haunta, ebola, sars, swine flu, bird flu etc etc etc. Theyre all still present and poke up around the globe. The virus adapts and we continue creating antibodies.
Heres the problem....so you super sanitize and stay clear of covid. Covid in time will morph to a newer stage...covid 2 as example. So now youre here wuthout natural antibodies to covid, which was Sars...and you catch the new, nastier version. How ya think your body will react?
Molinin302Was talking about this at work today. Latest projections after the peaks (which are occuring now believe it or not) is this will be passed around until September on a much smaller scale. Forgoing mutation, which is almost inevitable, this isn't going away for a while. Just be smart and stay healthy fellas.
I know what you're saying rusty. This is getting old real quick
makes me glad me and my boys kill several deer, rabbit, turkey and have our own beef and pork slaughtered and worked up. I got 2 hogs and a beef going to slaughter in 2 weeks. Time to make room in freezer.
I just got a half a beef a month back and have eaten a bunch of it. The wife said we don't have room on the freezer for two hogs when I told her I bought them. I said go look. She came back and said good call. Holy shit I'm right for once in twenty years of marriage. I asked if she'd sign something so I can frame it for proof. She said fuck off and went Into the living room.
Relentless458Supposedly there is only a 60-day meat stock reserved in the freezers of those meat warehouses. Pretty scary to think how fast that will run out and they are not restocking the freezers.
Exactly. And all the pig and cattle producers have an abundance of livestock. They have to continue to feed the most expensive animals on the farm to feed. Meaning you can get top quality meat at a fraction of the cost if you want to do the work.
Relentless458Yea man its real. If you know how to gut and chop, chicken and pork gets significantly cheaper than it already is
Hope it is just that pork factory. Says they are closing for 2 weeks. They can reopen if they clean it and make sure workers are tested for the virus and have proper PPE.
But another grim reality of the world today.
Stay safe bro!
The problem is the majority of worker there don't speak much English if any at all. All workers should self quarantine for the two weeks but won't. When it's all said and done I bet the majority of workers there will be infected.
My point is there may be a meat shortage as well if stuff like this continues. So now would be the time to try to locate alternative means of obtaining it for yourself and family if possible
Valid point. Yes it will be truly devastating if meat factories start shutting down.
Living in an urban area I don't really see a solution to getting fresh meat if that happened.
