So Whats your policy on making requests and accepting requests . For me every request I have made has been followed up with a "hello, nice to meet you " etc etc message , if not further convo to introduce my self.
Its funny though, Ive accepted a few FR's and never exchanged even a single message with the person. So just curious, why then do you make an F.R. ? Is it just in case down the rd you need to contact them ?
Do you accept all F.R.'s ? Or do you expect a few forum responses first ? Is an out of the blue FR like asking for a BJ on the first date ?

I accept them all... generally most contact me saying "Thank you and tell a little background" It's not facebook so I don't really see a lot of point in looking before accepting.. However, I do like to go and look once they've contacted me.

AnonI accept (ALL) friend requests. If someone has taken the time to send me an FR, I'm actually impressed. Unlike Ed, who is 100% NO HOMO, I am 100% ALL HOMO. I can usually tell when a homo or no-homo sends me an FR but I don't discriminate.

I do the same. I just accept them all. Usually I won't initiate any conversation because when u have 5 requests at a time and 20pms it gets tough to keep up. But I do agree with novice. If you send a request you should introduce yourself and say hello. Say something

novice has came up with a good topic this time. There is one bit of etiquette that I do practice and that is to not bother people who have a job to do unless it is absolutely necessary. I know you have to get on here and make your rounds and it would suck to log on and have to spend all your time sifting through endless PMs.
It gets taxing for sure. I'm at work in my day job. I get periods of down time. I go through the reviews first, then check my pms. Then go through each forum section. Check the posts I haven't seen. It's a lot of work. Lucky for me my other half scowers the board and points me in the direction of things i miss. She's always making sure i stay focused. Love it! All the mods are on different schedules for the most part. Or different time zones anyway so there's a few hours a day when it's just me. So when I get requests I just accept them all and wait for the pms. Being a mod on this site is a lot of fun and a lot if work at times. There are probably 15k/1 members/mods on at any given time. Last numbers BFG gave us it was 10,000/1. But we all do our best to stay active as members and not all work.

AnonSometimes I send a request but I don't know if it gets accepted, unless I'm specifically looking for that person for a question. But if I send a request without a message I just want to be your friend and say hi. I like to be friends with those who are nice to me.

I accept all friend requests. Try to be there if anyone needs help in pm and I'll help where I can. I do that because there was a time that I didn't know anyone or anything and guys like Vike and Tread Accepted my FR without blinking an eye. They always responded to my dumbass questions and never put me down. I'd be a prick to think that I don't owe that same awesomeness to anyone else in the forums.

As always you think of the important things! I have a lot more respect when a person introduces themselves they also go to the top of the list as far as me returning their messages. Except when I have already spoken back and forth with them on the boards.When I send out a request I thank the person for accepting it as well.

You probably get hit up a lot, it is because people respect you and your words. I too have wondered what the actual etiquette of the FR is here?
