First Show, need advice
ad
Ok guys, so Ive finally decided to start getting prepared for a show, ive been putting it off for way too long. I have several questions. So i checked the NPC for alabama schedule, and it looks like there is not a schedule past august 24th, is that the end of this season? Also, do they drug test you for the mens bodybuilding competitions in the NPC? I was made to understand by a friend that they did not. Also how long is the typical period to give to get in show ready condition? I was thinking 3 or 4 months. Also would tren enanthate and winny be good aids to getting in that show shape? Thanks guys

testaholicGo to as many shows before yours as you can. when I did mine it was the first one I had ever even been to. I didn't kno what to expect...
Ive been thinking about doing that and going to watch how it goes, how does a show usually go? Like how long does the posing take etc. ? Thanks
Pre-judging will take place the morning of the show. They pretty much determine who is the winner in the different weight categories during this time. The night time show is more for the audience and to determine overall winners (i.e. best of show)
Okay makes sense. Im going to watch my first show soon so I guess I'll learn more about it then
Marcel1229Stay Humble.....Keep your mouth shut and let the other opponent talk shit, when someone is talking shit about you in any sports that means that they're scared, trust me I know, I play football and a lot of guy's mouth are writing Checks but their ass can't Cash,....and Show them what you got! Hard work pays off!
Thanks bro, lol I will do that. You are quite right hard work pays, thanks
The NPC generally does not test, but that does not mean that they can't.
Most bodybuilders begin a precontest diet 6-8 weeks out, but you should be eating clean all the time if you have any significant amount of fat to lose. Starting a precontest diet 3-4 months out will ensure that a lot of your size may dissipate.
Trenbalone and Winstrol are great pre-contest compounds, but I would advise running the Tren in the acetate ester the last 6-weeks.
Awsome, that was one of my key questions(testing) Out of curiosity, should they test and one fail, what are typical consequences? What about workout, should I change rep scheme to 15-20 reps you think? and if so how far out would you start that? The only things im eating now that are not "clean" i have bleached flour(for making biscuits) occasional use of brown sugar, honey is my main sweetener, light sour cream and cheese. I know that precontest diet would include more foods like wheat, brown rice instead of white, and not include the sour cream and cheese. I plan on competing May of next year and all since alabama schedule is too soon for this year. What is the most accurate way to measure BF%? I have a OMIRON fat loss monitor but im not sure its that acurate. Thanks so much for the replies
phil113kgFrom what I know, if NPC chooses to test and you fail then what ever placing you earned is taken from you. If and this is a big if, you earned any money then that would have to be given back. The person who placed after you will be bumped up to your slot and that's it. If they test it would normally be for diuretics but not AAS. Only the contest advertised "NATURAL" will be randomly tested for gear usage. AAS testing is very expensive and most contest organizers don't want to fork out that much money.
Your workout should go through a series of changes as you progress closer to your date. Some, like me, will continue to lift heavy till several weeks out to keep the fullness. Many factors are involved in this topic so you will have to approach it in an individual case by case.
Dieting is an issue that is different for each person. Some can handle dairy products up until the last two weeks while others can't. It depends on your body composition. If you are a hard gainer then normally it means you have no problem in loosing weight due to a higher metabolism and vice versa. Stuff like that has to be taken into consideration and planned for. You have a lot of time until you begin so think this out thoroughly.
The most accurate BF measurement is the "mirror". Let the mirror be your guide.
Very informative post man, I really appreciate it. Do you think I should consider messing with diuretics for the show? I have never used them. What about nitric oxide during show for good vascularity? Also, havent done a show yet, how long does the posing time take? How should one get a pump on before the showing so everything pops? Im guessing mainly bodyweight excercises and maybe a few dumbells if I bring them with me to show, is that correct? Thank you so much for your time
phil113kgDiuretics is a case by case thing. For your first show you would probably not use it. You need to learn how to diet and get as lean as possible to know if you will need them or not. But I can say that I use them sparingly several days before the show while during the water depletion to help push that little extra water out from between the skin and muscles. Diuretics is nothing to play around with cause you just can't stop using them after the show. You need to tapper off slowly and allow the body to find stabilization. If not you will have a serious bloating problem "edema." I don't have to time to go over all the finer details of this subject but you get my drift. NO during the pump up? No need to if you are under the 5% BF. You will have veins showing regardless. But to have them popping will require just a spoon of honey several minutes before stage time. Remember NO requires water. You pretty much answered the last question on your own.
