Theyr very useful if being used by a physio-therapist as part of "whole" rehabilitation program

They use to sell these types of machines in bodybuilding magazines back in the late 80's and 90's. I almost bought one cause i was a youngin looking for an easy way out, i was a smart youngin though so i did my research. At the time I looked into it, say 1994 or so, there was no evidence at all to support a claim that they work on healthy individuals. Like Nitti, Swole, and gtgcali mentioned they were only useful in therapy on people who had injuries. Of course that was a long time ago, maybe they have some new space age shit out now lol

Price has gone down a lot. They were basically the same price back then but $499 1994 dollars was a lot more than $499 2012 dollars lol

You have to get a good one. My Dad had one when I was young, we used to use it for a punk test. You would put a hand on each pad and slowly turn it up until you couldn't take it anymore and pulled your hands away. Higher settings caused extreme, pulsing muscle contractions. You could also set the pulse time, how long it held you contracted and the delay before next contraction. It was cool, sometimes I would just crank it up all the way immediately, it'll make you jump back! LOL ;-P

lump of bull. Real results come from real work.

Lump of bull sounds about right. However, during my therapy for herneated discs, the electrical stimulation device they use is supposed to "strengthen" the target muscles. Maybe true on some level but I can't see it producing any REAL gains. Mine was used to stimulate the lumbar muscles to take the load and give my spine a break

I've never known anyone to attain any sort of result... I'd go with a lump of bull.
