Do you even...?

ad

I know this is a steroids forum but there seems to be not a lot of talk about lifting and not a lot of talk about nutrition.

I know from experience how important diet is. Not just for bbers who want to bulk up and cut successfully and to a timetable for comps. It's essential for strength / mass gains and every bodily function basically. The liver for example is essentially a highly efficient laboratory that performs literally hundreds of functions. Your liver is also a limiting factor in numerous ways. Two of its functions for example, are reducing E2 and SHBG levels. Damage your liver with orals to a level where it's only 80% as efficient as before and you've just upped your E2 and SHBG levels Longterm amongst other things. I'm not an expert by any means and want to learn from old hands. I like to help beginners by giving them the sort of advise that might stop them making the same mistakes I made. Of course, back in the day I was getting some good advise from guys who knew their shit but stubborn as a mule I had to learn most things the hard way.

So much is unknown still in the medical field and some of the best minds in the iron game are at the cutting edge of knowledge about how the body uses micronutrients for example.

I broke my leg a few years ago and I was shocked at the rehabilitation advice from both the physiotherapist and the dietician. As you probably know until recently the medical establishment were promoting that food pyramid of max carbs. It was what I learned from lifters that allowed me to design my own physio recovery plan. But the real shame was watching my gains just disappear in a matter of weeks - gains that took years of hard work just gone in a month and a half on crutches. The physio recommended standing up from a chair on one leg. That's the concentric phase of squat of course. But I learned that from weightlifters not from "professionals" in their field. I don't mean to disparage all health professionals. I'm really just saying I've learned more from bodybuilders about this stuff.

Anyway, ramble over. Just thought I'd try and spark some diet / training talk.

I dont even like juice. Its a pain in the ass, literally and figuratively. Having to monitor everything, having to take a bunch of secondary drugs just so you dont get some side effect. Its a lot easier to just eat, but when you hit the wall...

I'll break it to you gently. A lot of the guys in gyms nowadays don't work out that the nutrition part of it is way more important than how much gear they run until they've run several cycles and still haven't hit their goals. Harsh reality is many drink a few protein shakes, pump a load of tren into themselves and still can't figure out why they weigh 180lbs at 6ft tall.

Look around the cycles and cycle logs. Sometimes they work it out eventually, usually when they've wasted plenty of time and money.

Yes I posted there and recommended supergreens concentrated powders for keto extremists as the one I use is 3.4 grams of carbs and equals about three pages of micros, antioxidants and full B spectrum, a shitload of goodies like high Solenium content, probiotics, milk thistle seed extract, slippery elm, globe artichoke and even flax seed. It saves me buying and swallowing a lot of pills. When I was in ketosis I was just eating raw cruciferous six times a day and found two teaspoons of this in one of my protein shakes saved me a lot of time, money and discomfort. Just a supp recommendation.

The reason I started the thread about not much talk is because there didn't appear to be. I don't think anyone replied to mine anyway. Not that my feelings are hurt. Maybe I should read some of the threads there and see who I can learn from and maybe help someone myself. I might find everyone is already using supergreens concentrates and look foolish. Smile

I don't think many people wander over there.. they are too much into the juice and not so much about the eating etc..

Damn! i thought I was onto something because I never see them in supp stores or sections. Never heard them talked about. It really deserves the label superfood - the good brand one I use does anyway. On top of all the stuff I mentioned it's got concentrated, powderised extract of things like kale, broccoli, spinach, alphalfa, beetroot, liquorice, acai and on and on with all this shit I've never heard of listed in amount(mg/microgram). No soy and it's not in plastic for those worried about phytoestrogens. Some of the health food stores are now selling stuff like this that you never see in supps stores. I get a protein powder at from a health food store that's got contents you never see in supp store brands.
