CRISPR/CAS 9
Hello brothers,
I wanted to start a topic to inform and/or talk about what's being widely regarded as the scientific breakthrough of this century: CRISPR/CAS 9, as well as the potential innovations and breakthroughs the gene editing technology may have on the future of performance enhancing drugs, including gear.

CRISPR/CAS 9 was first discovered and then published by Berekly researcher Jennifer Doudna.
It is a revolutionary gene editing technique that allows scientists to wield "genetic scissors" to manipulate the genome and DNA of all organisms on earth (including us).
When Jennifer Doudna published her scientific paper, an extremely smart MIT student named Zhang used her work to increase his understanding, and filed a patent earlier than her.
A patent war ensued, and right now it's between MIT and Berkely.
Whoever wins the suit, will most likely have their main scientist win the Nobel Prize, as well as make hundreds of billions of dollars through licensing of the gene editing technique and any royalties that will result from the breakthroughs that stem from it.
Would love to hear everyone's thoughts! Because CRISPR/CAS 9, is set to change not just everything we know about curing disease, and engineering drugs, but the entire human race.

Governments will get thier hands on this Tech, and make superhuman soldiers.
All tech is Weaponized.
Eventually the private sector will be allowed to use this Tech, with a long list of Stipulations and conditions based on Ethics.
Anyone else have a problem with a mad scientist playing God?
Absolutely that's a huge issue. One of the biggest challenges they say is the potential for the entire human Germline to be irreversibly changed. We will be able to design our babies, picking traits like intelligence, eye color, personality, or removing traits like ADHD, Down syndrome, disorders. The biggest concern/ question is, what happens if this is too expensive at first, and the rich get a head start on creating children with super intelligence, while the poor lag behind. How do you balance that power?
You kill the evil robot that impersonates the beautiful school teacher which mediates peace between the working class that work in the underground city and the idle rich living in the tower.
Absolutely Stellar. We would have to perform this fast, because her intelligence would be exponentially multiplying each day, kudos to the technological singularity being fully realized at that point. Before the school teacher robot can exist, we design a kill switch. In addition, we have the robots construct us a gear facility with a purity that rivals Pfizer.
