+ 3 Christians On Roids

ad

I have yet to see this topic posted on the forums and was wondering if anyone had any thoughts on this? I myself am a Christian. However i see nothing wrong with the use of steroids. Since I've been on them for a little over a year I have not only gained strength and muscle mass but also confidence. I see no difference between steroids and the use of pro hormones, whey protein, amino acid supplements etc..All of these will help you gain muscle to some degree..It just so happens that our government has made the use of steroids without prescription illegal.
Please don't flame me for this post, i just wanted some opinions from my fellow eroiders.

See here is the thing that is an opinion not a guaranteed fact. and same goes the other way around. No one on either side has proved or disproved their argument with overwhelming evidence. Thus it is given to opinions and speculations.

mkp's picture

ok so i can say santa claus and tooth fairy are real too because its my opinion. nice logic

Darktide's picture

You can say anything you want it just doesn't make it true because you say it. Like I said proof either way. See I don't think any real Christian or any other believer in a God has to prove it to anyone, if they are not forcing their beliefs, why because it is called faith. You however are making the claim that God doesn't exist and we should all take your word for it because you say it is crazy? Give me full scientific proof, I will believe it, but even the greatest scientist in the world admit that science is still being advanced thus not complete.

mkp's picture

i dont believe in it because i can think logically and know whats realistic and not

Darktide's picture

Well said!

Darktide's picture

Yup. The substance of things hoped for the evidence of what is not seen. Both sides hoping for an opposite result.

Nitti's picture

There is absolutely nothing wrong with using steroids. There is no god and you won't be burning in hell. I won't get into a dispute about this but it's my opinion. But I'll play along. So you're saying that its a possible moral dilemma because they are "illegal" in some places? How about one of the 7 deadly sins? Vanity? You're "legal" pro-hormones to build muscle, they're feeling your dirty vanity aren't they? So you ready dun fucked up.

I'm not taking pro hormones, currently on test and tren. I said in my post I see nothing wrong with steroid use.

jesus has clouded ur mind

Harley1969's picture

Thanks for the input bro. lol

Nitti's picture

Totally missed my point, but good. Glad you don't see anything wrong with it. You shouldn't, considering that those books are fairly tales and all

Greg's picture

I don't see the conflict. Christianity boils down to this...

Matthew 22:36-40
Teacher, which is the greatest commandment in the Law?”

Jesus replied: “‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’
This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’
All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments.”

I just do what i want and dont consider any book, laws, regulations, bonds, etc.

Where's Tim Lambesis when you need him.... Smile I'd love to see his reply to this forum lol

Darktide's picture

Lmao! You crack me up D! Well technically I think this thread is about whether it is wrong or sinful for a Christian to use steroids in accordance with the Christian faith.

funny thing is research early baptismal or anointing oils, theres evidence to show even john the baptist used these oils. for those who follow the christian ideals this is something you may find educational and amusing.

humpnpump's picture

LOL this topic is quite simple. Does it glorify yourself or God, and in that you have your answer. The oil was just a precursor of what was to come after the crucifiction of Jesus or " Christ " which means" anointed one". What was he anointed with oil or Gods spirit. what were the 12 apostles anointed with oil or the spirit of God. Injecting steroids in my ass isn't very anointing in the eyes of Jesus but only self fulfilling for my physical body. Christian 30 AD and Christian 2013 AD have a totally different meaning IMHO.

my point simply was there is a great deal of proof that the original anointing oils were made from cannabis and had hallucinogenic effects, as described in exodus 30:23 . drugs played an enormous role in early christian rites. such as the fire chrism and baptism or anointing. to be called "christ" was a reference to being anointed with holy oil. i find it amusing that these things are ignored among mainstream "christians" today. drugs were part of this religion for a very long time from the old testament to the new. so imho where is the moral clause in this topic. canabis was referred to as the "holy plant" in the bible lol. dont get me wrong i dont smoke, the only "drug" i put in my body is AAS but i find the moral implications of drug use within the christian ideals comical at the least

EmPee's picture

I am not Christian but I think that, if steroids do not make you a bad person, there shouldn't be a problem religion-wise. For example, Tren might have an effect on you where you treat people worse or maybe commit some immoral acts.. I don't know. But I think you got my point.

pump junkie's picture

It's Jesus all the way for me bro. The only problem that can arise from steroid use as a man walking by faith and not by sight that I have found is when those muscles to start to inflate don't let it go to your head and getting all boastful in the flesh. This good God of ours is all about honesty, but when we start walking in pride all puffed up,that's when he resist us but gives grace unto the humble.

I think that is a real good answer and you seem to be a person who doesn't justify yourself when you sin against your faith. I have always been interested in these discussions especially when you you find people who genuinely practice or follow what they claim is the rules or laws of their faith.

So how do you reconcile purchasing illegal steroids with your faith? does it put you in a state of unrepentant sin etc? I am really interested in your take and I respect all peoples rights to their beliefs, I am genuinely curious. Also I know you and Harley may feel a little out numbered here or maybe not but I will not bash anyone's faith, that is not how I conduct myself. I do however enjoy intelligent respectful dialogue.

Darktide's picture

You sir I respect! +1

Matthew 23:23 Then Jesus said to the crowds and to his disciples: 2 “The teachers of the law and the Pharisees sit in Moses’ seat. 3 So you must be careful to do everything they tell you. But do not do what they do, for they do not practice what they preach.

Acts 5:28 “We gave you strict orders not to teach in this name,” he said. “Yet you have filled Jerusalem with your teaching and are determined to make us guilty of this man’s blood.”

29 Peter and the other apostles replied: “We must obey God rather than human beings! 30 The God of our ancestors raised Jesus from the dead—whom you killed by hanging him on a cross.

In Matt 23 Jesus told them "to obey everything from these men"

In Acts 5: 29 Peter made a choice by the Spirit to not do what Jesus said because the command was worse and there is a higher purpose to obey. Now my take is this your health is what your family needs to provide for them. There is an unjust law that could prevent you from staying healthy and providing for you family. I would take my chances with God as well:). Just an opinion but I always found that an amazing president that Peter took. Not that God changed His word but he filled Peter in on it greater about not obey a corrupt governing authority.

Darktide's picture

The powers that be are creating new, unnecessary laws everyday.

Yes they are and it is not good at all!

Harley1969's picture

That's it in a nutshell for me Ace. I'm far from perfect as well. However, what about people in the UK where steroids are legal? I wonder if steroid users there have any morality issues? Just because the US has deemed them illegal does that mean "and I don't want to get to religious here" that they are a sin to do here if you are a Christian?

Darktide's picture

Just because the US has deemed them illegal does that mean "and I don't want to get to religious here" that they are a sin to do here if you are a Christian?

Hey brother I am pretty well versed in most of the World Religions. So I am going to play the devil's advocate with you pardon the pun lol. I am not judging or trying to provoke but just to find out because there are many versions of Christianity where you stand with yours.

If you are a Christian and you believe that the Holy Bible is God's inspired word, and that to obey it is to be a true Christian as it says in the Book of James "he who knows the good he ought to do, and doesn't do it sins.".

Now if you live in the USA using steroid without a legal prescription is a crime and violates the laws of the land. So below is what you God and faith command you in the Holy Scriptures,

Romans Submission to Governing Authorities

13 Let everyone be subject to the governing authorities, for there is no authority except that which God has established. The authorities that exist have been established by God. 2 Consequently, whoever rebels against the authority is rebelling against what God has instituted, and those who do so will bring judgment on themselves. 3 For rulers hold no terror for those who do right, but for those who do wrong. Do you want to be free from fear of the one in authority? Then do what is right and you will be commended. 4 For the one in authority is God’s servant for your good. But if you do wrong, be afraid, for rulers do not bear the sword for no reason. They are God’s servants, agents of wrath to bring punishment on the wrongdoer. 5 Therefore, it is necessary to submit to the authorities, not only because of possible punishment but also as a matter of conscience.

6 This is also why you pay taxes, for the authorities are God’s servants, who give their full time to governing. 7 Give to everyone what you owe them: If you owe taxes, pay taxes; if revenue, then revenue; if respect, then respect; if honor, then honor.

1Peter 2:13 Submit yourselves for the Lord’s sake to every human authority: whether to the emperor, as the supreme authority, 14 or to governors, who are sent by him to punish those who do wrong and to commend those who do right. 15 For it is God’s will that by doing good you should silence the ignorant talk of foolish people.

So that is what makes you taking steroids a sin in accordance with the scriptures.

Darktide's picture

I don't think this is a bad topic brother. It needs to be in the off topic section though. For religious people this could be a good discussion on each person's idea of morality. I mean we have far less meaningful things in the off topic section so I don't see an issue with it. But be advised brother that many people here do have strong opinions hopefully it can stay on point of what you are originally asking.

mwagner630's picture

sorry, for what this board is about, i dont think god should be in the open forum. sorry. if i want religion talk, politics or something else ill go to a forum for those topics.

Nitti's picture

I happen to agree. I think there's no room for it anywhere but what do I know

Nitti's picture

It doesn't.

manbearpig's picture

Some people's religious standing does affect whether they choose to juice or not.

I have a close friend/bodybuilder who cycled for 10 years. He spent the last 5 yrs in the army. While he was in Afghanistan he saw some bad shit and suffered injuries and mental illness. When he came back he immediately became baptized and a Christian. He reads the Bible "religiously" and litterally makes it his life to make sure decisions he makes are Godly. He gave up an old and reckless lifestyle he had before too. He could be on hormone replacement therapy easily, but he doesn't want to go back to that temptation. I've probably done my share of tempting him down a path I know he doesn't want to follow :/
