Caffeine dependence

ad

I used to drink only tea. And I never liked coffee. But when I drink coffee 5-6 hours later after training I feel euphoria. Naturally, I began to pursue these feelings as a drug addict for a dose. But over time I get used to caffeine and the effect is lost. In the gym it becomes more difficult to deal with and it's hard to wake up in the morning. I do not understand how to drink coffee before training, it seems to me that the heart will explode. The problem is to quit coffee. This is accompanied by headaches even loss of strength. But unfortunately I start drinking coffee again in a month or two as a drug addict. I do not drink alcohol, I do not smoke and do not use drugs and really want to get off coffee) I wonder your opinion about coffee.

I hope now you're doing well. I also was addicted to coffee and couldn't work without a cup of coffee before work. Recently I've found a great drink that replaced coffee and it's better and healthier. I found a recipe here https://inshape.blog/healthy-food/dalgona-matcha/ and prepared some dalgona matcha latte and it more delicious than a coffee and healthier for your body. It became the ultimate whipped drink to enjoy in their free time. It's also useful for heart disease, diabetes, cancer, and weight loss. I practice yoga, avoid all the products containing sugar and lead a healthy lifestyle.

Do you are sugar and creamer to your coffee. I find it to be the sugar that's addictive not the coffee.

I don't touch coffee,....... but I live on 300mg of Dr prescribed Armor (thyroid) and caffeine pills to help regulate my thyroid function.

It sucks to be me.

I put pure caffeine into my perri workout drink. I can honestly take it or leave it....

But i cannot kick coffee. Its strange... its subtle... in fact im not really sure why or what about it makes it this way for me at least... but its not the actual caffeine per sé.

Its similar to smoking... everyone thinks its just the nicotine but its not... its a much more subtle and complicated trap.

If you can kick it, it wouldnt be a bad thing, but i do think for the purposes of the gym... if you need a stim... you should instead try use extremely energy dense foods like fats/oils from say mct oil; in a shake for example.... considering your addiction.

You are very much so, in fact, using "drugs"

Caffeine is a powerful and overlooked drug that must be respected.

In this world where coffee, tea, and rampant copious caffeinated beverages exist on every corner, caffeine like any other drug must be used sparingly and mindfully.

I know so many that claim coffee has no effect on them while they drink literally pots a day. Yet when they cant get their "fix" they are irritable, lethargic, moody, and on the verge of a migraine headache.

Make no mistake, Caffeine is a drug. Using any addictive drug daily and unmindfully always brings negative effects to the consumer

You do realize tea has 10 times more caffeine then coffee right? And expresso has less the half the caffeine of an 8 ounce cup of black coffee. I am an adrenaline junkie so I love caffeine. If I were to quit I would gain 30 pounds in a week. Green tea and black have a ton of caffeine, the onlybteas that dont have a lot are those specialty ones with the orange pekoe.
If you take preworkouts the primary ingredient is anyhdrous caffeine amd most of the time its either 75-400mg. Yohimbine is a form of caffeine. Weaning off coffee is not as hard as you think, its weaning off caffeine thats a pisser. I consume a gram or more of caffeine per day and there has been no side effects, my blood pressure is borderline hypertension. I can drink a cup of coffee or tea and fall asleep a minute afterwards. I am so saturated that if you drank even a teaspoon of my blood you may think you just had a shot of adrenaline dumped into your heart

That would be the equivalent of making a tea with 20 tea bags to make it stronger than your average cup of coffee.

40mg in an average cup of tea
95mg in an average cup of coffee.

No clue where you get your facts from fella.

Time for me to have a slice of humble pie, I also like how you used the small end of the mg chart fella.
I was wrong.
Coffee per 8 oz is 95-165
Tea per 8 oz is 25-48

Source- the internet.

I was told it was more and never bothered to research, my bad.

Thanks for keeping me honest about caffeine content.

That's what's great about these forums. I've eaten humble pie more than my fair share here.

When I was a kid my mum would have a pot of tea on the table at meal times, but I was not allowed to drink coffee until I was a teenager as she considered it an 'adult' drink. Both brews contain caffeine. Until I was in my mid 20s tea was the preferred beverage - but then I developed a taste for drip filter coffee and have 2-3 cups upon waking EVERY day. My gorgeous wife makes it for me and wakes me up to the smell of freshly brewed coffee every morning. I could probably live without coffee - but I pity the c*nt who tries to make me.

Sounds like giving up the coffee would be easier than giving up the woman, sounds like we're two lucky guys.

Good coffee and a good woman..what else do you need?...(actually, I have a list, but let's leave it here :-) )

There are ppl they can drink a full can of coffee and feel sleepy and then there are guys like u they dont tolerate coffee or even any type of caffeine. I am one of these people who doesnt feel any effect of caffeine, only a good ECA stack makes me awake.

But as Sam I Am already mentioned black or green tee is a good alternative to caffeine!

If you cant stop driniking coffee try to drink it only on off days, but I think with time your toerance will increase.

RangerVet's picture

Buy caffeine free coffee. Tastes good and in a few days you won't have caffeine headaches and such.

Dr.BroScience's picture

Honestly as a matter of fact. Unlike sugar-free products, coffee is not "caffeine free". While yes, decaf exists. But the reality is the decaffeinated coffee does contact caffeine albeit in small amounts and is not 100% caffeine free.

Just food for thought for those that need to avoid caffeine all together or those confused by this marketing technique.

Ozninjaguy's picture

The caffeine free coffee isn't too bad, but it does actually lack some flavour or body. I drank it for 3 months after my ICU cardiac experience.

Tea also contains caffeine and depending on how it's prepared can be as strong as coffee.

That's a tough one, my attraction to coffee goes beyond the normal "just need a cup" I have an emotional bond with coffee that stems back to the days where I was dumping powder coffee into a dirty canteen cup and heating up water in an MRE heater. It had a metallic taste but it was the taste of god damn FREEDOM.

Edit: Also the coffee was great to mix with the brownie and peanut butter to make a special treat.

I think it has its purpose, it can get you through the longer days but i think its good to reset the receptors every say 3 months or so. Check out Adrenal Restore from 1st phorm. I used it for 2 weeks straight with no caffiene and did not experience even 1 single headache or loss of energy. It also calmed me down quite a bit and helped with sexual function. With your adrenal glands firing off all day long with adrenaline epenephrine cortisol it can really set me off and make my fuse much shorter than I'd like it to be. Also with all that running through your head its hard to be able to focus in the bed room.

Give it a try for 2 weeks brother I stand by that product 100% or even just look at the ingredients and take them individually.

Sort of, more so, give them a rest. They've been firing on a daily basis for many of us stim users and after sometime they get shot, we dont feel the effects of stims as well and we need more.

Taking adrenal restore for 2 weeks I didn't deal with any headaches loss of energy nothing like that. And i was able to stay off caffiene and stims for a bit, but right now im on prep 7 weeks out so we're using stims and fat burners to get through the grueling bits of it. But as soon as I'm finished with the prep, I'm coming off the stims.

They're really over rated for just day to day stuff, its like we think we need it but in reality we only need it to avoid a headache and not crash.

Also for me if i am consistently stimmed up for a while it shortens my fuse, and I cant really keep my head in the game in the bedroom.

it sure is a drug, but its easy to get off. I look at stims more as now a tool than as a formaility to get through the day.
