What would you do to prepare before and or deal with the crisis if it already happened, until it's back on?
I'm not saying this is going to happen, it's just conversation. But out electric infrastructure isn't in the best shape (USA) After giving hundreds of billions to other countries, I don't think that was wise

Well California already showed us we cant keep up with the electricity demand whick is why i dont know why they pushing for electric cars so bad. How do you think we gonna mine all the nickel for the batteries? Fossil fuels right? So isnt that an oxy moron?

I’m not switching until they make me. Between my wife’s car and mine we average 8 smiles per gallon. Good thing our neighbors like us especially when I cold start at 4:55am.

Lol we talk so much about how we are dependent on electricity and technology yet back in the day when folks went without, they lived and made due with what they had. Can you even begin to imagine? At night all you see is a torch or a lamp. That was their light at night. They made it work. They had to adapt which would be hard for us nowadays lol. But in all hopefully there isn't a massive Blackout.
Been without power for a week and I am still here. No power also essentially means no water for me, flushing toilets becomes difficult
since my pump needs electricity to run which was probably the biggest inconvenience.
I'm lucky, my well is artesian.
Well that adds a whole new dimension to quite the shitty situation I could imagine haha damn
I grew up in the 70's. I can make light and heat, dig a root cellar, smoke meat and can food, I'm smart enough to piss downstream, and drink upstream. I can live without TV and a cell phone... Admittedly, I'd miss eroids banter.
It's funny in the 1920's most homes didn't have power; didn't even know they needed it.
Bring as up front as I can without sounding like an asshole, if we wind up in a crisis or WROL, water and canned goods are good to have but ammunition is better. Every time I get a chance I grab a couple boxes here and there. I go through it with range time, but when I replenish I get extra. I always keep a few hundred rounds ready between rounds and shells. No one will protect you and your family except yourself, stay prepared.
Time to invest in solar panels
Fall and winter months in the north solar will be pretty much useless. Unless you live in an area that gets a lot of sun year round, not really a viable option for a lot of people.
Say if worst comes to worst. The grid goes down. I can manage pretty well. Some people don't know how. One reason why I would never buy an EV. The grid goes down, what are you gonna do? Besides, our grid can't handle a massive influx of EVs. Then you got California telling citizens to not charge their EVs lol. Say the grid goes down and SHTF, I stay strapped to the teeth. If the dollar becomes worthless, dumb people invest in gold and silver thinking they will be able to buy shit. That's cool n all but it's just gold and silver, fuck is that going to do to protect you? If I have more guns and ammo, your goods are mine if you aren't prepared. Your hoard of TP is mine lololol. Gold and silver is useless to me. I can't do anything with it. I can't eat it to survive. I can't use it as ammo, worthless in my book. My guns and ammo will be worth more than your gold lolololol I'm just talking shit.

The government has been telling us to prepare for this for a while now. It could be anywhere from a 3 to 6 month ordeal. I believe we have three grids, all of them going down would set our nation back years for our economy. Sure hospitals some gas stations places with large generators will be open, they are saying to keep $1,000 cash on hand. 3 month food supply. America already has his pants down, but I sure won't be caught bending over for anyone
