Best Trilogy In Boxing

ad

For the boxers or boxing enthusiasts out there, which trilogy do you think is best?

It's a very tough decision, but myself I think the Gatti vs Ward trilogy has to be my favorite. No quit in either of those guys. I've watched each of the three fights numerous times very motivating. They both fought until the end and had massive respect for each other. Ward probably had the meanest left hook in boxing.

RIP Gatti

I am with you on that Gatti vs Ward. That was the real version of the Rocky movies accept there were no bad guys lol. The determination and heart of those two was a pleasure to watch. The amount of punishment that Gatti took in his fights and still kept coming was unprecedented imo in modern times.

Gatti - Ward is prolly my top trilogy

X2 loved those fights. You just don't see refs let fights continue when it's a bloody mess like that. I think that the refs knew going into the fight that Gatti cuts easy. Gat to has been known to show up the day of the fight 20lbs heavier than at weigh in. He was way bigger than Ward but Ward was tough as nails. Gatti would weigh in after flushing his system as if he were having a colonoscopy and severely dehydrated. The moment he got behind closed doors he would take an iv to rehydrate and start eating. I always wondered what he ate and where the hell did the stamina come from after all that shit...... I loved both of them and have mad respect for the heart they had in the ring

Inspiring for sure. Two absolute warriors, and the best part was how they became great friends. I think a left hook by Ward would bring the biggest of men to their knees, not only was it hard but extremely accurate with it. Like he could almost see your liver glowing.

Marco Antonio Barrera VS Erick Morales is my fav...

That was a good one also, they may have technically been the better fighters, but Gatti-Ward may have had more drama.

I was hoping you would chime in. I agree completely. There's no amount of training that can prepare you for that. Some people are just born that way, and I think Gatti was. Even if you are not a fan of boxing you have to appreciate that.

Arturo Gatti was not of this world. Never saw a man take so much punishment and keep moving forward on nothing but heart! Love that fucker! And yes, hands down the greatest trilogy ever! The best round EVER in boxing history. Gatti v Ward 1. Round #9. Watch it
