Anyone ever train with a slater log?

ad

Question any of you guys ever train or used a slater true oak log for over head presses? Right now I'm using rail road ties with log chains wrapped around them for added weight.. Just wanted to see if there worth 500 bucks .. Thanks in advance

Is there any sense to buy a slater log if u r not strongman who want's to compete?
What special about it? It's quite expensive stuff, and judging by the construction it is very uncomfortable thing to handle.

GJ is a strongman competitor. That's why he's asking. And by the way Pasta describes that log, well, I may have to shell out 500 bucks just to see.

I'm pretty sure it builds strength throughout your entire body, as opposed to just hitting your shoulders due to all the movement and stabilization going on.

Also, you sit there and tell me it doesn't look absolutely fucking badass lifting a god damn log over your head.

Find a local gym that has one and give it a go, you'll fucking love that thing. You'll be sneaking back in at night to make sweet love to the log, and you'll get envious and protective about her when other guys get rough with her. You'll find yourself not being attracted to that skinny Olympic bar anymore, and eventually she will tear you two apart. You'll love her for the way she makes your body ache, and you'll hate her for being so demanding at the same damn time. But you'll always come back, like a magnet pulled to its opposite.

Sounds awsome! You gonna compete again?

I guess if you're a strongman competitor it might be worth it, otherwise what you are using now should work just fine. I haven't done any log training since the military, brings back some bad memories lol

The gym I frequent has one that was fabed by a welder. Similar to the Rogue, LB-1 ROGUE 12" LOG BAR. You might be able to find a local fabrication/ welding shop that could beat $450-$500 and shipping if you toss in the Olympic bar. We also have a set of over sized tires with 2" Olympic diameter holes welded into them to take dropping the weights from overhead. That all being said, railroad ties wrapped in log chains has to look pretty bad ass. Keep crushing it.
