'A HOUSE OF DYNAMITE' Anyone Else watched this yet?

ad

Okay - I've just finished watching this on Netflix. It's the No.1 Film over here currently ....

What does anyone else make of this - Especially the ending?!!!

Is the World really as unprepared as this if there was a Nuclear Strike on the US??

press1's picture

Is it 1 Big Coincidence that this Film has just been released and within days Trump starts testing Nukes again for the first time since 1992??!! Lol

Honestly I did not like this show, seemed to fake to me and them just jumping right into a missile already in the air and making a show from that whole thing.. not a fan. Plus another thing is the US would scramble jets and they to would be using other types of missiles to shoot that nuke down.

It was launched from our own sub to get rid of a libtard city.

Aggieguy's picture

Yeah I feel asleep and didn't watch to the end but I am ok if a libtard city disappears as long as the very few cool peeps get out first.

Is Chicago a 'liked' City in the US?

press1's picture

Out of interest - Where would you put Delaware in there? Lmao

Milfpounder's picture

George thorogood came from there so it's probably bad to the bone.

Aggieguy's picture

Hell no its one of the crime capitols of the US

press1's picture

I must admit, I never view it as being one of the more desirable areas to live in the films lol

Milfpounder's picture

It's in the middle of the country, hot and humid as hell in the summer, cold AF in the winter. Full of extremely ghetto ass ppl mixed with very prideful rude ppl. Everything is overpriced and crowded as hell. Chicago is literally the epitome of a SHIT-HOLE

press1's picture

LMFAOO!!!!

So are we saying the Nuke would of done you all a favour then??!! Unless of course - you live there ....

Milfpounder's picture

Hahaha Bing bang BOOOOM

Milfpounder's picture

If we can't get enough signatures to nuke Chicago let's nuke Mexico instead. Someone already started that one hahaha

irongame427's picture

Mexico is a fucking shithole. I’m not an interventionist but I wouldn’t mind some air strikes and maybe some special operations teams going in and completely obliterating the cartels. They’re killing 100,000 of our people every year with drugs. If that isn’t cause for war idk what is. Not to mention the illegal Alien problem. We wouldn’t have anywhere near the problem we do now if it weren’t for the cartel and their human smuggling operations. The Mexican government is too corrupt and in bed with the cartel to do anything about it.

Milfpounder's picture

Sign that petition dude. Let's nuke em

Greg's picture

We will weaken the cartels and embolden the Mexican government to have joint operations to wipe them out. Mexico needs us to help them claim their own sovereignty. Not to change masters from the cartels to the US.

press1's picture

Hey - What ended up happening to my new mattress fund?? DId you end up nicking it all to go on that recent holiday to the Hamptons!!

Milfpounder's picture

Kinda funny what happened there..... I tried to start an anonymous go fund me but they started asking some identity questions. I think I sent you the screenshot. I had to dip on it hahaha. I tried tho my man. As long as we have each other.. do we really need a mattress??

Milfpounder's picture

Yes 100%. Let's start a change.org to nuke Chicago

Greg's picture

Only liberals and illegals live there... think London without culture or history.

Aggieguy's picture

100% I would not feel bad if Chicago disappeared. You want to sum up Chicago, watch John Wayne Gacy documentary on Netflix. The dude lived in chicago.

Bigelow, known for films like The Hurt Locker and Zero Dark Thirty, told Netflix's Tudum that she hopes the ending serves as a conversation starter.

“I want audiences to leave theaters thinking, ‘Okay, what do we do now?’ This is a global issue, and of course I hope against hope that maybe we reduce the nuclear stockpile someday," she said.

"No matter what final outcome you imagine, you’ve already seen a horror unfold. And in the real world, these weapons and all the processes you’ve just seen are still lurking in the background of our lives," said Oppenheim. "Are we comfortable with that reality or should we do something about it?"

RobertB80's picture

What a cop out

press1's picture

Hurt Locker is one of my All time Favourite films - didn't realise it was by the same person.

Greg's picture

It was a happy ending.

press1's picture

@irongame427 I thought this would be right up your street mate?! Are you not in a war mood today! Lol

irongame427's picture

lol this is right up my alley. I’m always in a war mood. I started typing up a reply last night but must have gotten side tracked. I haven’t seen this but I’ve watched the trailer now and it looks really cool. I’ll have to watch it.

We should be able to tell immediately where an ICBM is launched from. Launch is the easiest time to detect one because of the immense signature caused by it and we have satellites watching everywhere. So idk how believable it is that we can’t tell where it came from. It’s most likely only going to come from a few places. And we have the installations close by all of counties who hate us.

Our ICBM defense systems can intercept successfully about 97% of the time. That 3% will still kill us all just the same though lol. The biggest threat would be if someone launched a few dozen at us. Then the probability of one getting through goes up exponentially.

However, how prepared can you really be for something that’s never happened? We don’t really know that much about Russia and chinas ICBMs. They could have a lot of tricks up their sleeve that our systems aren’t ready for.

press1's picture

In the Film they depict that its come from somewhere in the ocean, so I presume that would imply a submarine but for some reason the satellites didn't pick it up possibly due to an AI attack blinding the satellites. I just can't imagine that only two of these interceptor rockets would go up to deal with it - surely more would be fired pretty quickly if these didn't work? At least it looks like it when I read about the missile inception base in Alaska where some of this is filmed.

irongame427's picture

They would definitely fire more than 1. That’s part of the ground based mid course defense system. A single missile from GMD only successfully intercepts about 57% of the time, and this is in highly scripted training scenario. If you throw in all the unknown variables of an actual enemy ICBM I bet that percentage drops even lower. But if you do the math, if they fire 4 interceptors each with a 60% chance of hitting the target the probability of hitting 1 ICBM goes up over 97%. Although many people argue this is overly optimistic and it’s really still more like 50/50. .

But then if we can’t intercept mid course, we also have a different defense system for when the warhead is in its terminal phase. This presents quite a few challenges though as it typically only takes about a minute once the warhead re enters earths atmosphere and its traveling very fast. Although the path is more predictable at this point but you gotta do it immediately so the explosion happens way above earth. we also have another missile defense system for intercepting during the boost phase on its way up to space.

Have you ever read about what happened in 1983 in the Soviet Union? One of their nuclear defense stations detected that the US launched a ICBM, plus 4 more behind it. The station operator lucky thought it was mistake and somehow quickly confirmed that it was. He was supposed to send that information up the chain immediately which more than likely would have resulted in the Soviets launching back at us. Then we would have legitimately launched ours at them and full scale nuclear war would have happened. Because of how stupid the old Soviet system was he was never rewarded for this because that would have meant admitting their scientists/engineers built a shitty missile defense system. So he was reassigned to a less important position lol.

press1's picture

Were the US doing a nuclear test in 1983 at the time? Also when these nuclear tests get done out at sea or islands - are the areas cordoned off for many years after that due to all the radiation present? Why is it the Soviet Union seem to have all these Mobile Missile Launchers that can be stationed all over yet we don't?

press1's picture

So are the nuclear missiles that the Jets and Bombers carry still very powerful then as they seem nothing in comparison to these HUGE things that the Soviets parade around on their trucks??! Lol

press1's picture

Should I take that as - you are good at Waterboarding??!! LOL

irongame427's picture

Ranger may be able to say he’s waterboarded people, but i can say I’ve been waterboarded lol. I don’t think you guys have frats over there? I got waterboarded on and off for 8 weeks when I was pledging my frat in college. It is not fun lol.

RobertB80's picture

Is there a part 2 or have I just wasted 90mins?

press1's picture

I'm afraid thats 115 minutes of your life gone forever mate - never comin back.

Now you are just left to fret and worry over if Mr Putin is feelin pissed off today.

It was great right up to the bit you were ultimately looking forward to finding out wasn't it!! LMAO

RobertB80's picture

I’ve got a great idea for a film…Go on….Well it’s a disaster movie but the kicker is there’s actually no disaster.

press1's picture

I figured we would at least see the Nuke explode and then the Subs and Stealth Bomber firing back ....

Yup. Hated ending
