Hello Everyone...I'm training to compete again and not get burnt out

ad

Hello,

I'm a former athlete like most people on here. A pro kick boxer with more losses than wins. A former golden gloves boxer and gymnast. I started bodybuilding back in 98', competed in 2000 and been doing shows off and on until 2005 when I was injured in the line of duty (military) and nearly died. I won my weight class, middleweight in 4 shows and took an overall in light heavies. i did a comeback show in 2008 and took 3rd but was ashamed of my condition. I think they gave me third because of my military injured and how I was able to step back on stage some 3 years later after an injured that nearly claimed my life. I did the Cajun Showdown in Louisiana in 2014, took second middleweight and qualified for Nationals. I was burnt out! I was a shell of my former self but looked good to edge most guys out on guts and some talent. I want to compete a few more times and go all out and I like to know, how do you guys stay motivated?

Thanks,

Zee

Everyday i get older.....sooo i feel it everywhere!! If i dont lift...i get sore joints, back, knees, etc. Therefore, I feel better about myself and have minimal physical limitations regarding life's activities, when i stay current with weight resistance training.

Have you taken any time off from everthing? Even a week away without anything to do with the lifestyle can be a reset and refocus.
