+ 9 Why you might need to lower your expectations.
Something I see often on this thread, other forums, and even places like social media is this underwhelming reaction to someone’s first cycle. Some guy goes in on a simple cycle, something like test and dbol or test and winstrol for a first cycle, puts on some muscle but not a ton, and is upset because he thought he would have a complete transformation from average joe to IFBB pro. If you feel let down by steroids here are some things to consider
-
Is your gear fake or underdosed?
As much as we would like to imagine that your gym bro Kevin has your best interest in mind, remember some people will be willing to scam you. Make sure to the best of your ability that your source is a good source. If you’re buying online then you’ve already found the right place for reviews here at eroids, but if you’re buying locally make sure you can trust the guy completely because this is your health. See if someone else has used his stuff and see how their own experience went. -
Did you go in with a plan?
Most of you guys selected your compounds based on your goals, so why not everything else. Is your diet in check with your goal? Is your training being pushed to new levels? You’re going to progress at a much faster speed now so those need to be in check if you expect to keep up this new level of progression. Arnold had a great quote about this, and this goes for goals in life so remember this, “You can have the greatest ship or plane in the world but if you don’t have a specific location you won’t be getting anywhere”. Make a clear plan and follow it -
Did you actually do your research?
This goes hand in hand with the previous point, but if you do not do all your research how can you expect to have the same results as those who have? Simple things like knowing what AIs, injection/dosing frequency based on half life, or how to do a proper PCT will go a long way in helping you achieve the result you desire and not being a bloated mess of side effects. -
What did you expect coming in?
As I stated in the beginning, those who feel as though their results are underwhelming are usually expecting to look like an IFBB pro at the end of a cycle. Just to put that in perspective, someone thinks after one cycle they will be on the level of a guy with good to phenomenal genetics who has been using anabolics for for 10, 15, even 20 years. Oh and it isn’t just test and an oral that they have been taking, it’s been a mix of injectables, orals, GH, peptides, and insulin to get them to the massive size they are. Fucking understand that just like a noob in the gym should compare themselves to the guy who has been there for ten years, don’t compare yourself to someone taking gear for 10 times as long as you. It’s a marathon, not a sprint
In conclusion, I think anybody who goes into this should try to shoot for their best result possible, but you need to be realistic with your goals. For just numbers look at it this way, if you’re 185lbs and wanna be an IFBB pro, so like 250lbs, after one beginner cycle, so an average of 10 weeks, that means you’d be putting on 6.5lbs on per week, nearly a pound a day. Just relax and shoot for a reasonable goal.
What do you guys think, and what should I add to this list?

Bloods bloods bloods. Cannot emphasize this enough. Precycle midcycle and post cycle. Are you healthy enough to run it. Are you actually getting what you paid for and did you recover afterwards. +2
Alphamale500100%
TronWell, I hope they aren't running two compounds on the first cycle..but guys do it..I did..but I'm also a hypocrite and a moron.
Ayyye same, I too was/am a moron. The reason I put it in there like that is that the people who complain usually do more than they should anyways.
Should i lower my expectations or SHOULD i man up and eat MORE ...
Should i lower my expectations or SHOULD i man up and train harder. HELL NO 2020 Is my YEAR
GOODLUCK EVERBODY
im not going to lower my expectations Im just gona work harder at achieving them
RustyhookerFake or underdosed is the daily excuse. excuse . Had to say it twice because anyone thats training their asses off and eating right can GROW on a 200mg a week cycle. Underdosed is alwats followed with no bloods or more excuses of why they cant get bloods. Yet the rookie using the exact same gear bought at the exact same time adds on 10lbs. Go figure.
Undertraining imo is number 1. Gear specifically aids in recovery. If youre not training full tilt prior to using gear, you wasted money. Not training full tilt on is just lazy. Get some ct fletcher going on in the gym.
Alphamale500I agree 100%! 200mg/wk of correctly dosed gear, along with proper eating and training should be able to make some very decent gains. In the average person, 200mg/wk will bring your test levels up to around 2000ng/dl. If you know what you're doing, it shouldn't be hard to make some decent gains with this dose!

Might as well not run anything at 200mg... 500mg sure but that is only if you meet your true genetic potential. I can agree to disagree old pal. I know you’ll come back firing away.
RustyhookerAgree to disagree sure. Its what builds a great debate. Those who strive to be the best, will be. And the lazy will always be.....coming up with a list of how or why folks should lower expectations. My only stride is to lift folks up to geing what they can be. And its with sweat and a big heart. High five sir! Skin them cats
Much Respect brother...
Very true, I only included fake for the local level purchases, I’ve had people sell complete bullshit so I just included it for the few times that’s the case. As you said it’s a recovery drug, just allows more work load, hence why bodybuilders preach frequency, volume, and/or intensity. It can be hard when first coming on to understand your own strength but at some point you need to hit failure. Just push yourself till you can’t even if a gun was to your head
I take 30 sec break between reps. I’ll do 8-10 sets every movement doing 5. if don’t feel as if I got enough I’ll start the whole workout over again. Doing a shit ton more. I eat insane and train insane... ever set until failure. Bring the pain and I don’t believe in over training.
Rustyhooker^^^^boom! Skin stretching pumps
RustyhookerI hear ya! The body is an amazing organism if ya truely push it hard. You wouldnt be where your at going at this half heartedly.
It's their shit genetics and they never put the work in when they were natural.
I was always happy with my first 3, first cycles, i swy first 3 because after the first and second a good few years past in-between. So it was like I'd never used gear when I decided to use again. Another problem people aren't quite so honest about is the amount and the time on, eventually no more gains are to be had, so it's time for some time off not upping the dose and hoping for the best. Delusional is what they are.
When I first set out to train seriously, although natural. It took me almost 3 years to get to where I wanted to be. And then I didn't decide to jump on anything, it just wasn't on my radar at that point People nowadays are not prepared to put this type of work and commitment in. ++
+1 brother spot on
Nice post +. The problem is
I know tons of guys who take a lot of GEAR and show very little results. The bottom line is you need to get it all right in the gym and out eg diet , sleep, etc
+2 to adjust for the -2 in the sex goat fourm.
nice write up bro +1
AAS are way over rated , Its ridiculous when an Olympic Athlete gets there gold medal taken simply because they tested hot for some obscure anabolic . Its not the AAS that made them lose the Medal, its the little hating dweebs below them who came in second third etc etc. Even though you know they were probably using too, they just didn't get tested because they didn't win, only the best gets criticized .
AAS are not super powers, people see someone in way better shape than themselves and think bs its just steroids. Well maybe they are using gear, but so what it still takes years to obtain that desired form even with AAS. Diet, Exercise, Genetics, and maybe AAS. There is one steroid that does work almost supernaturally and we all know what steroid that is.
The general public is ignorant, lazy af and demands immediate results.
Having said that I’ve been trying to look like Arnold for damn near 40 years.
Hadn’t happened yet but it gets me up every morning...
Let’s be honest although steroids do work there almost an urban legend.
Yes - they work, but only temporarily. Perfect example - Dave Palumbo. First competed at 168lbs - gained 70lbs of muscle in 5 years, then eventually competed at a huge 281lbs, now look at him - looks like death warmed up - a talking skeleton, maybe 150lbs...so many others the same.
RustyhookerUrban legend. I like that...gets us up every morning to do the best we can.
