Why take this journey?
I hope this is the right place for this post. If not please direct me to where it should be. My question is fairly simple. Why have you decided to take this journey? For me it was simple. Im 33 6'2 and 200lb. Im active in multiple sports and feel like im in pretty good shape. But as you can see by my avatar, my build doesnt reflect that at all lll. I have a friend who bodybuilds and we workout all the time. He suggested i look into this. So ive been researching for a yeat straight. No lie!!!! So now its time. I want to look like i feel. An extra 20 pounds of muscle would look nice on me.
So if you could, please share why you started this journey.
Thanks. I already know, or have a plan for my 1st cycle. Have read all the advice and picked one out. Hope all goes well.

IronMonkI take this journey in total SPITE of who/what I use to be.....fat, lazy, no confidence, heroin addicted, scrawny, weak, mean and just plain unhealthy. Ive done a lot of bad things in life and was always lost and looking for guidance or my identity. When I left rehab I shaved my long hair went full bald and became the IRONMONK. No friends, no hair, no bro tanks and macho attitude. Just me and iron. Moving weight one rep at a time fron point A to B. So simple and so hard. I worship my energy and ability and for once im done appeasing others. I work out fully covered and squat with my eyes closed. I flex my CNS and feel the sqeeze and it makes me elated. I walk this path because i need to keep my sanity. Its my religion and I am its humble monk
I lifted naturally for 4 years. A dedicated 4 years; I made a lot of gains. Climbing from a skinny 20 year old, at 6ft and 145 lbs, to 190 lbs. after a few cycles under my belt I hit 220lbs when I was 25. I'm now at 182 lbs with 6% bf.. It's been a journey and my first cycle was a new chapter in it. I hope you make the gains your shooting for. Remember with AAS it's two steps forward and one step back with every cycle. The gains will come steady and with time and work.
After four years of lifting I wanted to take the next step but even more important than that I just didn't feel like my old self. Even in the bedroom things just were not for me what they once were. After trying a few rip off "legal" steroids my lifting partner and I were just like "fuck this shit we need to get the real deal". We were very uneducated at the time so I was looking to score testosterone cream in Mexico and silly stuff like that. Then in my google searching I found Eroids. That day my life changed.
Let me just add, please get bloods done before you even think about jumping on. That will tell you where your actual testosterone level is. If it is running low but not super low you will still feel like shit, but it is important to know that number first. These younger guys below are right about diet and that test will not wipe away a beer gut but what they don't know yet is the psychological boost it can give to the guys that are older. The OP shouldn't be too bad yet at his age but maybe bloods will show otherwise.
Well the best way to do things is to max out yourself naturally first. Because the gains made before that point if you use steroids can be made naturally. So if you not happy with your size you can attain naturally you use steroids to break past these genetic barriers. Problems is maybe 10% of people actually do this. And I was not one of those 10%. I trained naturally for a few years starting lifting at 130lbs full grown almost 22 years old so it's not really in my genetics to hold a lot of muscle. I got up to about 180 naturally then started juicing. I have been dieting the last four months and it's made me realize how just how much fat I put on over the years. I knew how to eat and train, cause I gained the weight, but it seems that maybe half of that was muscle when according to all the reaearch out there I should have been able to gain close to 50 in the period of time I trained natural. But half of my 50 was fat . Since using gear I've gained another 40 and it was a lot leaner this time around. So why do I do it? Better results and I enjoy the lifestyle. It's like people who smoke weed, for the true stoners it's not all about the weed. It's also the culture tha goes along with it . Different bongs and bowls , diffent kinds of weed etc. same shit goes for steroids. Love talking about it reading about it trying new things and most of all the results. And for the majority of people once you start you can't stop. You wanna continue to cycle for a long time.
Been training heavily since january. Yes i am stronger. Yes i eat properly. Yes i rest. My plan is to finish the year out naturally and then start my cycle. Just to see the results of a full year. I know that may not be enough time but thats all im giving it. This slim build beer gut doesnt suit me well lol. Actually weird considering how active i am. Diet was the biggest issue though. I was eating junk and knew i wasnt going to gain a whole lot of fat. But when i hit 30, it all hit my gut
I hate to be the bearer of bad news but steroids aren't gonnna do a single thing for your beer gut. You'll still have it when you finish your cycle. Losing fat is all about diet and cardio. If you can't lose it without steroids you won't lose it with steroids. I think you've kinda be tricked by the media like most of the population jnto thinking steroids are this crazy magic pill. I wish that was the case. You will be very disappointed.
Im not doing this to lose my gut. I think you misunderstood me. Thats a separate issue and as i said, my diet was the issue. Completely changed my eating habits. My decision is purely for the size and look i want. Im putting in the work, just want extra. Can i wait, yes but thats my decision. So trust me, thos is not an attempt to lose my gut lol
Man my best advice, if you are considering using aas and your body isn't 100% where you want it naturally... Example the beer gut being discussed. Lose that gut, achieve a great physique naturally to build off of with aas... You wouldn't want to try and build an amazing house on a bad foundation
I agree. And thats my plan. Going to delay my start for a while and see what i can do naturally. Proper diet was the first step. Now just focus on training. Time will tell
Good to here man, I've yet to start my first cycle, I have it sitting at my house and I see it every day and I just think shit I should just do it, but I hold back... The best things in life are the things you work for, and are patient for. Be your best, look your best, and take the advice from the guys on here, they guide you right and you won't be disappointed. Also check the diet clinic, they might be able to set you up with a solid diet to get where you need to be... Best of luck bro
Thanks and good luck to you too. Was a little apprehensive about posting but all positive so far
Yea, there are a lot of good, knowledgeable bros here. They are straight up and don't bs, but as long as you don't argue or break rules you won't get flamed.. And remember no question is a stupid question, better to ask then hurt yourself
Agreed. I wouldnt be here if i knew all. So im open to advice. Just didnt want to give off the im lazy and want to cheat type of vibe ya know. Because im the oppisite. Very active just not as big or strong as i want be. But that was all my fault. Wasnt really training for strength but endurance with all the running from sports. Im excited though. Thanks again bro.
Haha..great way to compare it.lol..is it bad that I don't want to pct and just blast and cruise the rest of my life? Too bad I can't do that
Repost.
After years of being in the gym with high calorie daily intake and hard training I got tired of being between 160-165lbs ..I'm extremely lean but wanted more mass. I have a very high metabolism and have no problem maintaining my weight but gaining was a problem even at 4500 calories a day made up high carbs, protein, veges and even weight gainer shakes I Gaines 3 lbs in 11 months.so when I felt that I peaked on my lifts I decided to they aas. And I love how I look now,I've gained almost 16 lbs and hope to maintain at least 10 lbs of lean muscle after I pct
Pretty much my story. Been hovering around 200 for years and no matter what i do it just stays there. Though my friend says i run too much. Basketball, baseball, and flag football year round.
Exactly you run to much. Burns to many calories. There is no avoiding weight gain assuming you don't have a medical condition. If you eat more then your body burns you gain weight. If you eat the right foods and stimulate the muscle in the gym a higher portion of that should be muscle. If you do choose to cycle that's gonna have to stop. Steroids are not magic and they don't spontaneously create muscle it's still built from food. If you can't gain weight naturally you won't gain any on steroids other then water retention. The general public has this crazy idea that if it do steroids you just explode with lean muslce. I don't wanna say the gains disappointing cause there definitetlu not. But it's not like if you do one cycle all of a sudden you look great. It still takes years and years to lay down a good amount of muscle even with gear. There's tons of people on here and I knkw in real life who have done many cycles and still barely look like they lift. I would say on average you can probably gain 1lb of pure muscle a week, sometimes more sometimes less depending in how well you respond to it. So ya on a 12 week cycle people gain 30lbs, but I would say 10-15 is pure dry muscle tissue, thrn you have the increase in glycogen stores this new muscle holds so your up to 15-20lbs of fat free weight, and the rest is water and fat. But if you don't knkw how to eat you won't gain anything. So before you do amyrhinf I would make it a goal to gain 10-15 pounds nautically befor you start. If you can't do that you shouldn't use steroids. No point in putting your body through the stress when you're not gonna make any gains.
I went from eating junk at around 2-2500 cals and probably 100g protein and extreme fats to now around 4000 cals 300g protein and about 90g fat. All from good sources. I watch what i eat. I qctually feel better eating like this. Time will tell though. Also ive stopped with all the extra activity. Didnt look at it as cardio before but clearly see where i was burning it. Still playing basketball though. Once a week. Just to keep my wind. Shouldnt hurt my intake or results though.
So how long have you been lifting for? Diet sounds good just be consistent with it every single day.
Off and on since i was in high school. Didnt really start being serious until about a year ago. But the amount on cardio related shit i was doing and my diet killed any chance of result. Itvjust kept me in decent shape. So id say, 2 years. Now that my diet is better, should start to look the part. As far as being consistent, i work 8-10 hours a day so i take a couple shakes to supplement when i cant sit and eat. But yeah that intake is daily no flux. Was hard at first but now its second nature
I would highly suggest spending a decent amount of time natural learning your body and what works for you. That's the only way to maximize results on cycle and now until the end of the year is not enough time to do that. And when iu first get on a good diet and training program gains come fast as hell. You need to learn what works for you, maybe your chest needs low reps while your legs need high, maybe you get better results hitting everything twice a week instead of once , maybe your arms grow best work high volume. You have to keep your diet consistent and change on variable do something for 4-6 week and track your progess then compare it to how you see doing things before. Everyone is different so what works best for me might not work well at all for you. Same with diet, maybe you need higher carbs or lower carbs or higher fats or lower fats , maybe you need to cut carbs at a certain time. All this takes time to learn man but that's how you make the gains with or without steroids.
Point well taken. Since im not rushing maybe ill keep pushing and see what nature has in store. Good advice bro. Thanks. It is a personal decision but im not too old to listen. Like i said before, i feel great and the new diet will have a major affect. Just will have to see as time progresses.
Just stick with it and train like a fkn mad man.
I agree with you. Thats why im pushing myself till the end of the year. Doing it naturally till then. And may go further if im making good progress. I also know this is a lifelong journey and have considered all you mentioned. I appreciate the advice.
I never was into cardio although I have done it in the past..so there is no reason other than metabolism to high for me
or not eating enough
In the past, i was basically eating enough to maintain 200. Not purposely, i just didnt knkw any better. That coupled with my sports activities kept me there. Since changing my diet, more protein, better food all around, i have gained 5 pounds in a few weeks. I cant see it lol but the scale doesnt lie. Ive been in the gym a while now but just recently changed my dieting. This site has given me a hell of an education. Im going to keep pushing, keep working hard and see where im at come winter. I already have my gear. Not rushing or i wouldve already started. Trying to build myself up as much as possible 1st.
Take progress pictures every month. It's really the only way to notice progress.
