when is bp a concern
ad
I am currently around week 6 or so of a test 450mg eq 700 deca 350 cycle. I take my bp every morning and even off cycle its slightly elevated but lately its been in the 140s-150 over 90-99. I am more worried about my diastolic being this high when should these numers be a major concern?

ClassyChassisI'd mostly be concerned on leg day. A set of heavy squats alone can send your BP soaring. I'd say don't go high reps on legs and make sure you're not holding your breath during squats.
My dad went to the doc just for a check-up and his bp was at 180 over 90 or something and they wouldn't let him leave the clinic. They finally let him leave after about 4 hours
Eliminate any unnecessary stresses possible, stress makes your BP rise. How is your sleep? lack of sleep can also contribute to high BP , and as already stated lower sodium, up your water.
Good call GRIMEY! I forgot to mention sleep
OK I have a simple question to ask? Whats the circumference of your arm and is the BP cuff you are using sized correctly? You know the standard cuff is only rated for 7-13 inch arms which translates to 17.78 -33.02 cm. If your above the top ranges of that cuff your readings will be off. Thats the first thing I would check!!
It's something you need to be concerned about but I dont think you're in immediate danger of stroking out. My advice would be first to try to get it down without meds. Cut back on salt and increase your water intake. Add some regular cardio workouts if you haven't done that already.
Novice gave good advice below with having your hematocrit and rbc levels checked because they're probably elevated from your cycle and causing your bp to rise. IF that is the case you can go donate some blood and That should help you out brother.
If you do decide to try out some medications check out Telmisartan. If you are like me and like to do cardio workouts as well this med could help out with endurance ;)
Also, check out the blood pressure help thread sticky by Tread at the top of the page if you haven't already.
AnonThats borderline, but Ive been running high/borderline for about 20 years now. Not quite as bad as you but close ,and higher than I/ they'd like it to be.
Try 1/4 cup of apple cider vinegar each night and watch your salt. Also if you can look at your blood test results and check your Hematocrit and RBC .
Oh and you have to remember they lowered the standards a few years ago as to what is acceptable. You've got to wonder if they lowered the acceptable range just to sell more BP medication .
x 2 and also he can use hawthorn berry extract aswell as the apple cider vinegar!!!!
Anonnice thanks I'll try the hawthorn berry my self. Didnt know that !
Give them a vote if you find it helpful.PermalinkI would rethink my dose of deca and test rule of thumb test should be higher than deca.. IMO.. you get less sides and right now you have a greater chance of shut down that deca can sneak up on you...as far as BP again IMO you are to high anything above 90 diastolic is concerning... what is your normal BP if you take all the time.... mine at rest is 130/85 on cycle anything more than that and I keep an eye on thing real close..
x 2 bro, but hes running the test higher than deca, he just wrote it so it looks that way, he doing the test @ 45o and the deca @ 350 with eq @ 700, even still for me personally still go with the 2-1 ratio for test to deca, so id bump up the test a bit more too!!!!
Those numbers aren't horrible, and should go back to normal after your cycle ends. You may want to try some Lisinopril 10 or 20 mg ed until you conclude your run.
