What is a good TBW%
Whats up everybody,
So technically I'm a newbie to this site and to AS overall. I am also a long time lurker and have read vast amounts on AS. Ive always worked out and played D1 sports so I'm an athlete and have always been fit, but now I'm about to do my first "real" cycle. I could write pages about my current situation but I want to keep it brief so basically this:
Ive always been fit and in shape. I'm now 33 and the last few years Ive been slipping in the fitness department. I let my training and diet go for a few years (drinking and eating too much) and am ready to get back in the game full force. Ive been training and preparing for the last 4 months to be ready for my first real cycle. I dropped 20lbs of "lazy weight" and bought a new digital scale that measures all sorts of great things. Here are my current stats: (is it weird that I felt the urge to lie even though this is anonymous? I decided to say fuck it and tell the ugly truth lol).
5'8, 175lbs
BF: 17.9%
Muscle: 43.4%
Bone: 4.4 %
TBW: 61.1% (total body water)
So TBW is a new stat to me and when googled I found that a "good" TBW is "slightly over 50 percent". My 61.1% is a considerable amount over 50 and since I don't really know anything about TBW I was wondering what eroids opinion on this matter was. Now I must admit that I'm an avid salt lover and put that shit on everything so I'm sure this has something to do with it.
This site has been a Godsend to me as far as info goes so I'm pretty stoked to actually be an active participant after lurking for so long. I will be posting much more in regards to my cycle and progress in the next few days/weeks but think this is a good starting point since I know basically nothing regarding TBW.
Thanks in advance for all the input, eroids is the s**t ****a!!! lol

TBW sounds like a nonsense stat to me. Just something that looks cool to help sell a fancy scale. I wouldn't bother with it. The important stat is BF%. Those scales are inaccurate though when it comes to calculating BF for athletes/bodybuilders so don't rely on them. I am near 5% BF now tested with a caliper and those goofy scales say I am over 17%! Once you gain more muscle mass than the average Joe the equations those scales use don't apply anymore.
Thanks for the input. Thats kind of what I figured but I also knew that hydration is an important aspect of a cycle so I wasn't sure how important TBW actually was.
5% BF and the scale says over 17%?? Thats encouraging because I was shocked at my 17.9%. I'm currently no where near 5% but i thought 17.9 was pretty ridiculous. I'm going to get a caliper asap, pics to follow soon.
