+ 1 Was Anyone Expecting SARMs To Make A Bigger Impact?

ad

I remember before SARMs hit they were touted as the next and better generation of steroids. Kind of expected to be a new generation replacement. What are everyone else's thoughts?

When I hit my all time bench pr (440) and rep pr (365 for a clean 6 reps) it was on 250 test, 15 mgs of rad daily, keep in mind I’ve ran some monster cycles such as a gram of test, ~400 tren and 50 drol. The mental edge rad gives is pretty wild in conjunction with test. Unfortunately it raised my bp higher than any other anabolics so I doubt I’ll run it again. Very tempted to try it with test an npp or test and tren. Also, I’ve taken lgd, ostarine, inj yk11 and s23 and never had as good of results as I did with rad

I personally see them as the first stepping stone in between being natty and on Steroids. Many of these teenage influencers were running these things and posting videos whilst still in their eyes being 'natural' Lol

I actually know someone who ran a tonne of RAD 140 and got pretty strong on it too - But it destroyed his thyroid gland or part of it for some reason, and he had to have the thing cut out of his neck!!! Has a huge scar from it, naturally he then got on the real deal once he was well again. He went round telling everyone he was natty for a long time until the cat was out of the bag LMAO (or the thyroid was out of his neck)

Damn dude that's wild. To this day I've never touched a sarm. Don't see the point.

Sad and funny at the same time, Big bro

But honestly, I’ve heard soooo many horror stories from SARMs… sometimes even more than real AAS use.

I think a big part of it is exactly what you said … people were sold this idea that SARMs were some harmless “fitness research supplement” while steroids were the dangerous stuff.

So dudes jumped into SARMs completely naive, no bloodwork, no understanding of suppression, lipids, liver stress, thyroid issues, nothing… and got absolutely blindsided.

Meanwhile, most guys getting into real AAS at least know:

“okay, this can definitely fuck me up if I’m stupid”

Not saying the AAS world is full of geniuses either… we still got guys running Tren during their first month in the gym and Anavar-only cycles LMAO.

But SARMs brought in a whole different level of false security IMO.

Agreed on the sarms false security and Anavar only cycles. Dudes that do zero research kill me man. Funny thing is every single person I've met that does that shit literally lives their life that way. Lazy as hell, ignorant to advice because they know it all and pretend to know shit rather than learn. Same guys that blow up car after car even tho they've been told....always check your oil and coolant regularly. "Oh yeah I know".....3 months later their cars dead lmao

When I first heard about them I thought “why the hell are people taking steroids still!?!?” Had that rad-140 in my cart about to pull the trigger!
As others have said though, the gains seem rather minimal in terms of the side effects. If I’m going to suppress or shut down my test production, destroy lipids, etc I might as well take the real thing.

They still have interested me as more of a research topic but I know they’re still popular with the teens. (Just check TikTok, almost as bad as the peptide craze)

Bro…SARMs were a well-constructed fraud from the beginning IMO.

They were marketed as the “safe clean future” of PEDs while real AAS were demonized as dirty meathead drugs meanwhile most SARMs barely delivered anything besides side effects and disappointment.

And the funny part? The compounds people actually got decent results from weren’t even true SARMs.

YK-11 isn’t really a SARM.
Cardarine isn’t a SARM either.
MK-677 is basically a ghrelin analogue …helps appetite, sleep, recovery, maybe gives some guys a “couple IU GH” type feeling depending on baseline.

But the actual SARMs?

Most guys ended up:
suppressed, feeling like shit, lipid profile destroyed and also barely looking different…

All because they wanted to believe:

“SARMs = clean”
“Steroids = dangerous”

Meanwhile half these dudes would’ve been better off just running low dose test and calling it a day.

Never really delivered IMHO. End of story.

Great mitochondrial support IMO, especially stacked with SS-31 and NAD+ support.

MOTS-c is one of those compounds that’s not really “anabolic” in the traditional sense, but can absolutely improve how the whole machine runs.

These peptides are interesting because they work more from the foundation … mitochondrial function, energy production, oxidative stress management, metabolic signaling, etc. And realistically… everything starts there. No energy, no recovery, no performance.

A lot of the “aging signal” we see is tied to mitochondrial dysfunction and reduced mitochondrial activity over time. That’s why I think compounds like these are especially interesting for enhanced guys putting a ton of stress on the body long term.

Anecdotally, I’ve noticed:
better recovery, smoother energy output, improved overall well-being
And better looking biomarkers over time.

Mots-c does a great job during cutting as well. (I’m on 1mg daily at this point)

BTW…about the peps:

Nothing dramatic overnight, but more of a “system runs cleaner” type effect.

I cycle them in and keep them around for health/longevity purposes.

No life… no way to pin my gear lol

Peptides are like the lubricant to a smooth running anabolic machine. Used correctly they enhance and keep things more active and running smoother. Your description of Mots-C nailed it.

I had high hopes when they first hit the market 20ish yrs ago but that quickly faded after trying them. night blindness was the strangest side effect

What was it that caused you night blindness if you don't mind me asking?

SARMs were initially marketed with a lot of expectations as a potential “next generation” alternative to traditional steroids, but real-world results haven’t fully matched that early hype. Most consistent and noticeable results still seem to come from well-established compounds.

A lot of the confusion in this space also comes from inconsistent dosing practices and lack of clarity around measurements and reconstitution, which can lead to suboptimal or misleading outcomes.

Accurate calculation and clear dosing understanding can actually make a significant difference in results and safety. For anyone dealing with peptide or dosing calculations, I built a simple tool here for reference: https://peptixcalc.com

Nothing is better than steroids. It was all advertising hype to call something better than the juice. Clearly the evidence proves this is not the case.
Peptides now are supposed to be "better" also and its just not the case.
Test is still best

A lot of people were hopeful. They are not as “selective” as many would have liked. I’ve heard good things about YK-11 but nothing compelling enough to convince me to run it.

Cardarine is the only one worthwhile that is actually beneficial and it's not really even a sarm.

Can’t say I’ve seen anyone with an impressive physique claim it’s from sarms. Peptides seem to be what sarms thought they’d be though.
