Vegan Gainz

ad

Hi Guys "N" Girls

I will get straight to it.

Vegan diets, Are they Optimal for Muscle mass, or can they be as good as a diet that includes meat.
Im old School, i always thought complete proteins from meat were the best source of protein.
Can a Vegan, make the same Gainz as a meat eater?

I should mention, theres a controversial young man on YouTube right now,(Vegan Gainz) Calling people out,
on their diets Among other things.

Whats your take on the Vegan Diet?
Or is it another Fad?

Thanks for your Opinions, and if there are any vegans here please throw in some input.

Sincere thanks goes out to you.

Healthier compared to what? The typical American diet or a whole food diet that includes meat?

There’s a big difference and on a vegan diet without aggressively supplementing and being very careful you’re asking for nutrient deficiencies.

And when you add supplementation, now you’re throwing in processed lab created stuff. I don’t see how that’s healthier. Sure it’s healthier than McDonald’s and pizza, but not healthier than a whole food well rounded diet by any means.

Plants is the only food we meant to eat, animal and animal products only cause harm to us

Monkeybig's picture

U guys negged me because am vegetarian, wow now i can c that is truth that eating too much meat make u stupid, fyi game changers movie is backed by science not by bro science like those youtu channels u guys keeps watching, come on guys get real education and show ppl your karma is worth something

DfromPhilly's picture

That’s the dumbest shit I’ve read in a long time. What are you trolling or something? Having a little fun, are ya?

Monkeybig's picture

Check the area with the more longevity, they are all vegan for example loma linda in California

Pale's picture

There was no reason to neg his posts. We can talk about this shit without all that

Monkeybig's picture

Cant talk agains ignorance, keep eating your meat and be ready to have multiple issues once u hit your 60s or before, i will stay healthy and Live to my 100s. Even arnold has become vegetarian after having multiple health issues because a life long of eating animal dead flesh and milk, he had multiple open heart surgeries luckily for him he made it.

DfromPhilly's picture

I hope you don’t believe Arnold doesn’t eat meat. It’s pretty obvious that Arnold did James Cameron a favor by being on that doc because terminator just came out. He probably walked off set and ate a ribeye.

Arnold also wouldn’t have even gotten close to all of his achievements without meat.

Monkeybig's picture

He couldn’t have, but it almost cost him his life bro

DfromPhilly's picture

I highly doubt that’s what did it man. You don’t think it’s maybe the way he lived for years? Not because he was eating animal products?

I’m still waiting for an answer about the dead baby, and why breast milk is a necessity for life, but isn’t vegan.

If you were preaching pescatarian I could see the argument. But no animal products at all?

For real, listen to the joe Rogan podcast about it. Read a couple articles that address it from the other side.

Monkeybig's picture

Human milk is perfect food for human babies as cows milk is perfect food for calf which can turn it in only six months into a 600 pounds beast, no wonder why boys and girls who drink it are getting into their puberty in the 10s. Man i have listen to those podcast and have made a ton of research, the only thing i belive now is science and there are tons of research for years 20 plus check the china study book that shows we humans should eat plants to achive a maximum health free of illness. Large quantities of meat consumption take us to all kind of diseases we have now like metabolic syndrome.
U can also check https://nutritionfacts.org/ all the articles here are backed by science.

DfromPhilly's picture

Well clearly we’re supposed to eat animal products then if breast milk is good for babies. You literally need it to survive, then what ur body switches and animal products are bad then magically after you turn 1 or whatever?

I can’t anymore. You already have ur mind made up and I don’t care what you eat... you can’t just listen to the studies that come out the way you want them to dude.

Enjoy your veganism, and having to supplement to make sure you don’t fall ill.

Monkeybig's picture

Well clearly we’re supposed to eat animal products then if breast milk is good for babies...

If this was true same would apply for calf they drink cows milk for six months and are completely vegan eat mostly grass. BTW. I was carnivore before became plant base i was having lots of autoimmune disease now am drug and ill free after six months of being vegan

Pale's picture

Like Greg said above, I don't think any of this is an all or nothing deal. But we do likely eat more meat than nature ever dreamed was possible thanks to modern convenience.

DfromPhilly's picture

Well cows don’t have hands or tools, so they kind of have to deal with what they have... man has eaten both for as long as we’ve been on the planet. And that’s great man, I’m glad it works for you. But we’re all different. Some people have had the same results by going carnivore. Honestly that might have worked for you too. You just tried vegan first and it worked. You don’t know that carnivore or another elimination diet wouldn’t have worked.

For most people tho, neither is best. Both are best for most people.

And as far as the studies go, they little rally haven’t done a plant based diet vs a whole food diet that contains plant and animal products. The key for most people is whole food and balanced is ideal. No processed shit. And it’s pretty amazing how much “healthy” “vegan” products are processed to shit.

Of course when you compare veganism to the average American diet of shit, yea... vegan comes out on top.

But in all seriousness man. If ur gonna eat like that and it works for you that’s fine. But please do bloodwork, and make sure you supplement wisely and be really careful about getting all of ur micronutrients. Because you could end up in a bad spot if you end up with deficiencies.

Monkeybig's picture

I agree with u here bro my English writing not perfect but u guys understood my point thats the only thing that matters

DfromPhilly's picture

Have you ever seen a kid get malnourished from eating meat

No because it’s next to impossible. And I mean... fuckin breast milk... really? We’re not supposed to drink any animal products?

Ugh... I may be biased because I was raised in a butcher shop but still... to say meat is unhealthy when it’s full of nutrients and complete protein is the dumbest shit I’ve ever heard.

DfromPhilly's picture

Overcooked meat is the worst. That’s a fact. But it’s still better for you than undercooked lentils lol.

Uncooked or undercooked beans contain high amounts of glycoprotein lectin, a toxin that can cause nausea, vomiting and diarrhea within three hours of consumption

I dunno about you but I never got the squirts from over cooked meat lmao. I have eaten raw ground beef as a kid right out of the grinder and was perfectly fine. And overcooked meat when my grandmom served it and was fine then too. Lmao

Some people will believe anything if it’s in a “documentary”

DfromPhilly's picture

Bingo

Monkeybig's picture

Trolling? Have u watched gAme changers bro, please do then come back here with some knowledge and we can talk, there is no a single part of our digestive track starting with our teeth that show we should be eating animal dead flesh.

Monkeybig's picture

U neggeing me only make u look stupid bro, i guess u cant have a conversation with a person who has a different point of view because u will punch him on the face or make him worse

DfromPhilly's picture

Fair enough. +2 to even it out

Monkeybig's picture

Nicely

DfromPhilly's picture

Amen brother

All you just said to me is “I’m and idiot and am easily fooled by propaganda.”

Read the many scientists that debunk the shit out of that garbage movie. Plus the t nation article, plus the expert joe Rogan had on.. that used to be vegan and had to stop for health reasons.

It’s cherry picked nonsense and a couple of the athletes they featured are only vegan sometimes... that’s not vegan. They just eat a vegan diet sometimes. And the strongman... not only is he not elite (maybe he would be if he’d eat meat), his diet consists of mostly shakes because he can’t get what he needs by eating vegan... so he has vegan protein powders all day long... we preach all the time to get most of ur protein from Whole Foods. Powders are to help, not be ur primary source.

every aspect of that movie has been heavily debunked, and in some cases they just flat out lied. You’re a dope, that’s easily swayed by a well presented argument no matter how wrong it is, or how little evidence there is for it... they cherry picked the data you moron.

Also none of the athletes are champions.

Ask the baby that just died because her parents insisted on feeding her a vegan diet if veganism is good for you. Breast milk isn’t vegan... and you literally need it (or something very close to it) to survive your first year of life. you fuckin dope.

And man had been eating meat since man existed. Dude I got some swamp land to sell you... god damnit you’re dumb.

animal products only cause harm to us

I don't know, I had a leather jacket once that saved me from some serious road rash.

Incidentally, The Mandrill (MonkeyBiggest) will eat birds, tortoises, frogs, porcupines, rats, and shrews. They will eat larger vertebrates when they have the opportunity, such as juvenile bay duikers and other small antelope. Large prey are likely killed with a bite to the nape with the mandrill's long canines.

[ -Wikipedia ]

I would hazard to guess they'd eat more large game if they had the means to hunt them down. Homos (no homo) have been eating meat for millions of years. So no, it is not harmful to our diet and we are meant to eat meat.
Caveat, too much of anything can be bad.

bolt781's picture

I was expecting to see a fairly big guy. His aka should just be vegan....

Pericu's picture

In Berlin, there's even a Strongman/Powerlifting Gym which promotes being a Vegan Athlete. There are a hell of strong people hanging around, for example Patrick baboumian, who is vegen through and through. If you don't know him, check him out! ;-)

Other than that I think it can be difficult, depending on where your based at. I live in Berlin and there are thousand of vegan places. Vegan Restaurants, vegan Supermarkeds, you name it.

I'm not vegan but I can totally understand the people deciding living without meat. You can definitely do it and it definitely works like any other way of eating.
Everyone needs to find what works for him

In the end it's super simple.
First and foremost kcal in vs. kcal out, then Macro and waaaaaay more later it's where you get those macros from.

DfromPhilly's picture

And I guarantee you the all HEAVILY supplement... and none of them are too of their class. Maybe they would be if they ate a damn steak.

Hi Pericu.
My nephew has just decided to Go Vegan.
he asked for my advice.
I told him to Combine Foods for a more complete amino profile, i also asked him to take a B12 Supp.
just in case.
I know Vegan-ism can be a challenge in getting the correct nutrients, and knowledge of nutrition is key to general health and well being.
why exactly hes gone vegan isnt clear, but i hope he knows what hes doing.
Thanks for your input bro.
Regards

I actually support the idea of consuming less meat and reducing mass production. If you want meat, get quality meat from a local butcher. This is my opinion on it and this would be the reason why I'd turn vegan.
That being said, I think it's simply important for him to still bring variance into his diet.
Unfortunately I don't know much about veganism and if there is a common deficiency.

I could think of "iron" could easily be a deficit problem and supplementing with creatine would even be more recommended then before.
Anyway, as mentioned, I'm not an expert on that field and others can probably give more insight on what my be important to track

All the best for you and him!

being vegan is great path to go, but difficult one in modern society, full time food preparation:) like pro bodybuilder but on another side:) I don't eat meat at all, but I am not vegan. Vegan a bit extreme, wouldn't have time all day sorting greens:) even, I don't eat meat still having seafood though, plenty of choice of great foods without red/white meat in them. Feeling better than ever, that feeling of being drowsy and heavy after meaty meal is gone, always fresh now. Have friend from Crossfit gym, they all on Paleo diet there, not using supps at all as its processed food:) any Paleo dieters here?

Iron-Gym-Works's picture

thanks for the info bro.

I have zero research to back this up, so take this for what it is, just discussion.

I've heard that before the big body building popularity explosion of the 1950s to modern day, there was sort of a stigma against eating meat. There were A LOT of impressive physiques built before AAS where people were "vegan" (or at least eating mostly vegetarian, perhaps with dairy and eggs added in).

You can build an impressive physique in many ways. Natty, AAS, eating omnivorous, eating vegan, etc.

The fundamentals NEVER change.

  1. Lift smart.
  2. Eat whole foods.
  3. Stay hydrated.
  4. Get enough sleep.

However you choose to approach any of those criteria is your choice, but common sense still prevails. (I know, I know, the libertarian in me is starting to preach. I'll get off the pulpit now.)

Lots of dudes and gals have built impressive physiques by way of vegan diets. Don't have blind faith in this idea. Have faith in the loads of examples that have succeeded doing it. If this is something you wanna pursue, @iron-Gym-Works, kick ass and take names!

thanks brother.

Vegan Blend combines Pea Protein Isolate, Brown Rice Protein and Hemp Protein to deliver a premium quality, vegan protein powder with a full range of essential amino acids and over 22g of protein per serving.

I brought the stuff once, like drinking sand.
