+ 3 The Rep Challenge

ad

OK guys and girls. A fair few gyms over here in the sunny down under have a rep challenge or Achievemenet board. Now they can go from the benchpress to legpress, pushups and chinups. Just thought it might be a bit of fun for people to post HONESTLY. My recent ones are.

Legpress with 9 20kg plates a side for 31 reps
Benchpress with 80kg for 27 reps
Chinups over grasp wide gip 21 (no kipping)
Pushups 86

Ladies how about these weights.
Benchpress 40kg
legpress 80kg each side.

If you want I can edit the thread and post your results via PM(the highest ones to give people the benchmark).

Ok so you have to use the same weight as I have posted for the weighted exercises. Lets have a bit of fun. The winner will be crowned (unofficialy by me) The strong little monkey of Eroids. There are not a multitude of prizes (unless everyone wants to donate gear to the wallabokkie foundation, donations are not tax deductable but are appreciated) It was worth a try. Hahaha. But seriously lets have a crack and have an eroids Achievement board. Please be honest as putting up false claims goes against the idea.

Cheers big ears and rep out my ER brothers and sisters.

OK guys it didn't take long for the shit to begin. Please don't clog threads up with crap. If you had a problem with people on the board the sort you shit out via PM not in a thread. Maybe our gracious MODS can make it one of the rules on the board.

Well my reps have improved a tad. Now doing Legpress with 11 plates a side for 28. Getting 25 chin up's. I incline benched 120kg or 265 for 14. Haven't done push up's for a while though. I might give them a crack tomorrow.

Ok...Update here!! It's not like I was trying to bang out as many reps as possible at once, but I started a new "temporary" chest routine this morning. 10x10 at 185 lbs. flat bench, German Volume Training. No other chest exercises. Nothing special really, my bench has always been my weak point, most likely due to busting my shoulder up when I was twenty...a plate and screws on the humerus don't help a bench press I guess. However, I was hitting 10 reps all the way to about the sixth set where it dropped to 9 then 8 then 7 for the last 3 sets. Not bad really in my eyes, rest was 90sec. for first 5 or so, and then I had to up it to 2 min. for the last 4. By the end of the third or fourth week trying this, I hope I hit 10 reps for all 10 sets!!

wallabokkie's picture

Haha yeah it hurts like nothing else that german volume training. Try only resting for 60 seconds though.

DBG's picture

60 sec. is ideal...we'll see what happens next Monday. 60 is usually the MOST I like to rest, but this was for real today. There's no way I woulda done that good on 60 sec. rest!!

wallabokkie's picture

Yeah it's a tough routine mate hey. But it definately has its benefits for cycling your training. It stimulates growth through overloading the muscles that's for sure.

DBG's picture

I'm still on a cycle right now, last three weeks...and today my chest is somewhat sore. Well, tight sore...if that makes sense. That's rare for me, usually I don't get this feeling at all after a workout(while on)!!! I love it!!!! I got legs Thursday, I'm thinking of banging out as many reps as I can at 315 lbs. for 3 sets or so. What is that in kg's, about 143 right?

wallabokkie's picture

Had a big leg workout today. As usual hamstrings first then onto quads. Warmed up with 4 plates a side. Then went to 8 a side and punched out 20 reps. Second set upto 10 plates a side for another 20 reps. Then the last set came along. 12 plates a side and ground out 20 reps, all the while the gym owner is there pushing me along. My legs were absolutely wrecked then he decided I should a drop set. So he took 2 plates a side off and I ground out another 6 reps. Then the bugger decided I should drop again taking 2 plates off a side. This continued till there were only 6 plates a side left on the leg press. Needless to say I had nothing left for squats. Could barely stand up after it was done. Almost fell over doing my first set of squats.

LMAO..I went to my gym today a read the board. It said dips achievment contest. It was on a sunday so very few people were in thier. The dips had to be elbows at 90 degree. I saw one womens name with three reps and a guys name with 36 reps...lmao.. I know an african american guy in the same gym, we usualy workout together. Well his favorite exersizes are dips. He is blessed with those african american genetics and looks like he is on all kinds of gear and he is clean. Well I didnt see his name on the board so I figuired he didnt do the contest. He was tellin me about it when we were food shoppin, I guess he didnt wanna do it.

Well I felt froggy and decided to do it. I did with strick perfect form, however I did them fast. By the time I got to 33 I was about to fall. My poor arms were about to give out. I couldnt let some guy named Rick beat me..lol I kept pushing and wobbling but I made it to 45..My name is now on the board...It doesnt sound like much, but to me it was hard to keep the form they wanted. The last rep I fell off, but I had someone behind me. My triceps are blowin out of my skin as we speak..lol

wallabokkie's picture

That's great work mate. 45 dips is a very good effort. Keep it up mate.

subs33's picture

My bench is 225 for 15 super clean reps. I never go higher, cause I dont have a spot and if i use a cage to bench in and use the supports to spot me I usually start feeling pain in my elbow...

Eminemsroyaltys's picture

Max on the bench with that many reps is way low...I can only do 150LBS for 25 reps and my max bench is down to 225 :( I cant bring the bar to my chest or my shoulder will pop out of the socket Smile
My chin ups are decent at 15 for wide grip. I have been building some nice muscular endurance.

DBG's picture

Geez man!! I just injured myself about six weeks out from starting pct. I was reppin' 275 on the bench one week, then got this AWFUL pain near elbow joint, lower bicep, brachioradialis(sp?)...the next week, having a hard time even puttin' up 205-225 w/out my elbow feeling like it's gonna give out and drop the bar on my chest. SUX!!! Was making ALOT of progress w/ my bench finally and then...POOF!!!, like a fart in the wind. I think I'm going to switch my bench routine to 185lbs 10x10, and that's it for chest day...no other exercises. I've read before about doing something like that, it works alledgedly. GIMP here as well, part of the game!! LOL.

subs33's picture

Ya, I had the same shit happen to me. I stopped bench pressing for about 6-8month and just did flies to try and bring my inner chest out along with some other chest movements. I am able to bench again with no pain. I guess it just healed.. I also had it happen when my estrogen was to low... But once it was in check it went away..

DBG's picture

Yeah, the ol' GVP...as it is for short. My elbow was just recent, I understand the pinched nerves...that's a real kick in the nutz. Sorry to hear it. I'm CONSTANTLY hurting something, been this way since I was 20...I'm 32 now. Multiple fractures and surgeries OVER and OVER AGAIN...I had some nerve damage in my neck a few years ago. It seemed to have gone away though, regardless my neck was F'ed up from a car accident about 7 years ago, hasn't been the same since...I can empathize for ya bro, pinched nerves ain't no joke. I wasn't trying to one up ya or anything btw!!...LOL!!

wallabokkie's picture

Come on guys and girls. Let's start posting some results. It's not a matter of who does most it's about what you do with the weights mention in the post. Give me actual reps done and I will edit the post to reflect what dudes and dudetts have done. It's more of a challenge for each and every person to give you a gauge so you can better your selves.

wallabokkie's picture

Yeah no probs bro. Looking forward to it

thundercats0's picture

I can bench 135 lbs....you mad?

jhendo's picture

I tried on bench 225 and i can get it for 25reps.. But i can't seem to get 405 up.. But then again i usually don't go heavy i stay with higher reps.. My max is only around 390-400 on the bench.. Not that great but Im not to worried about how much i can lift.. As long as i look half way decent ... I can do 100push ups if i do them really fast.. Never tried on the leg press. But on squat i can do 405 for a good 10-12reps.

wallabokkie's picture

Good effort mate. Well done. Give the legpress a crack. It will burn the crap out of you. Talk about lactic acid build up.

jhendo's picture

Yeah i don't want to puke.. Lol... Your a solider

wallabokkie's picture

Thanks mate. It absolutely destroyed me that one. Probably could have done better if I hadn't already done hammies and 2 previous sets of legpress to failure but with less weight. It still smashed me though.

wallabokkie's picture

Sorry to all my intercontinental dudes and dudetts. 80kg basically is 1 45lb and 1 22lb plate on each side. So 1 and a half plates a side.

jkc's picture

Great idea. Going to be fun to watch. I hope it dosen't get clogged up anymore than it has already. Maybe you should ask everyone to just ignore the BS instead of causing more. I guess it's really hard for some to be honest from a keyboard(character issues). I would like to see this thread play out the way you posted it. Friendly competition and all, does a body good when pushed. Thanks for posting this.

wallabokkie's picture

Yeah I am going to edit the post and ask for the crap too be left out of it.

JOEDIEZ's picture

I won one of these with my partner a few years ago. In prison me and my partner entered and went up against some HUGE guys that looked like they could move a house. Goth and some others know what Im talking about. You may have seen these kind of guys in prison movies---of bb competitions????--lol. well they had size but no endurance. It was like 135lbs who could do the most perfect form. we actually went last and were asses about it. the top guy was like 70 so I did 71 and my partner did 72.

kevin777's picture

I got legs tomorrow and im gonna give it a shot. Thanx for the motivation bro

wallabokkie's picture

It's all good mate. Glad to give people motivation.

kevin777's picture

Shit, at 290lbs I think i can get 6 or 7 pullups; 30 pushups, but im a beast on legpress. I hit 315lbs in the squat for 20 a couple weeks ago and thought i was gonna die, couldnt get my belt off to breathe and was dry heaving for 5 min.

wallabokkie's picture

Good numbers on the squat mate. You will be surprised at the pain the extra few reps cause. Even at that weight.

Freeze's picture

I dont have a huge benchpress, but man I can do some pushups. Is there a time limit? My gym is a little lame (small town) but I could prolly get something going, great Idea, thanks for posting!!!

wallabokkie's picture

No mate no time limit. But when you rest you don't break your position at the top of the pushup.

wallabokkie's picture

Well it is basically a max out challenge bro. Just wanted some good healthy fun competition going on in ER bro. As for the age brackets if it's wanted I can't see why not.

VIKING EVOLUTION's picture

YES! you are right he is a fucking beast walla is my australian bodybuilder brother and he takes everything deadly serious! so EMBER if you are reading this please do not fuck this thread up please with your childish crap.

Thank you no need to reply V.

finafan's picture

not like there is a payday.

ruski's picture

i think i'll smash that leg press

wallabokkie's picture

Awesome mate. Get into it. It's 9 20 kg plates a side remember. I know it's not much weight in total but man it burns. I should have stated as well that it's full reps. Knees to chest.

suzy b MRS viking's picture

Fantastic idea wallabokkie i for one will be up for it but you must allow me to get out of this carb depleted stage for a couple of weeks! i have you already on the push ups lol...lol.

P.S. is there any age limit Smile

wallabokkie's picture

Thats awesome. i take my hat off to you doing more than 60 pushups let alone over 80. As for the age limit. It depends on by how much you beat me on all of the lifts.hahaha I don't think we should have an age limit, if there is enough interest then we could have an age bracket I suppose as well as mens and ladies. What do you think 40kg for the benchpress and 80kg a side on the legpress for the ladies?

VIKING EVOLUTION's picture

lmao! she will hit that weight but not for many reps due to her bodyweight, thats more my territory brother lol will be having a rep count later today i love a challenge.

Good idea bro +3.

wallabokkie's picture

Cheers mate. Now I have to find out how many pushups she does so I can try and beat her

VIKING EVOLUTION's picture

Brother she does them for fun! also i never seen anyone truthfully do as many crunches and leg raises in my life its just like watching a machine.
