As someone who has been on the judging panel in the past, it takes a lot of time and it's tough. Imagine how much time Carlos / Tread have invested over the various EBC's? Then I read people commenting "not fair" and "doing favours etc".
Utter bullshit. Grow up and learn when to keep your opinions to yourself.

BuckyDentureI am sorry to hear and know that competition sometimes brings out the worst in people. It causes one to loose sight of everything else fantastic about what they just participated in and how even not winning still had the tremendous personal reward of competition.
But all one has to do is go to a childs hockey or baseball game and you will see grown men behaving in the most deplorable fashion. So add some roids and wow thats a real test of ones abillity to maintain composure and sportsmanship.
In any case I hope the EBC continues and thrives, its a great event and one day I hope I may find the courage to participate. All of the competitors deserve great admiration. All of the organizers and people who donate their time even more.

To actually insinuate that favoritism was a factor in judging, basically pissing in the of the face' of the genuine job done. A bad winner is the worst thing, shame on him!
It would of been the highlight of most members years, certainly would for.me, ungrateful fuker, his prizes should be sold off and given to a worthy charity.

i can't believe how much this whole thing was blown out of proportion... he wasn't mad about his placing, literally all we did was state a couple opinions... while STILL congratulating all the winners and participants, and i'm going to genuinely say SORRY and that we should have kept our opinions to ourselves... like i said a few times, it wasn't to discredit any competitor or anyone who organized it or had anything to with the contest. it wasn't even to discredit the judges, we just stated our own opinions, and yes again, we should have kept them to ourselves. this is generally a great community, but things are so easily taken the wrong way and then blown out of proportion like this which is a shame.
Having judged one of the EBC's let me tell you it ain't easy. We are not professional judges -at least I'm not.
Try looking over the 100's of photos, and make side by side comparisons on a 24" monitor.
There are several judges. We don't talk to each other. There is no coercion.
The judges have no stake in the game, are volunteers, and are unknown.
There are several categories to rank on -it isn't even clear to me what the outcome will be till it is tallied.
Some are so close it's a coin toss... the decision can come down to the quality of the photo.
The judges have integrity. At the time I was judging I was having a tit for tat argument with angus (for the life of me I can't remember why)... It didn't stop me from giving him a favorable ranking.
With all the hard work the judges do, to say "favors were called in" is insulting.
What has been blown out of proportion? It sounds pretty cut and dry that he believes that the characters of those involved to be unscrupulous...
and he came in 2nd so if he's talking about himself he has NOTHING on Angus!

Carlosdanger set-up and ran the EBC this year single handed...... a lot of work and logistical skill with the SRCs is the biggest part..... he is the one you need to talk too.

yes and i tried explaining to him a few times that it was just an opinion (that should have been kept quiet) but so many people got fired up so quickly and everything escalated for no reason. he also wasn't talking shit back to you, he was just explaining what was going on. ya'll peeps on here gotta learn to take it easy ;-) << don't take that the wrong way please, lol.

Wow is all I can say. I think people for get this is the internet. Every composition being judged by a human will cause difference of opinions. Accept your fate and move on. There is always next time or the one after that. This was the best EBC I have witnessed. By the way I was very entertained. The stash of gear that was giving away was amazing. Much respect to Carlos and all the sources that made this thing happen.
RustyhookerThe first ebc's were literally two or 3 freebies as a thank you. Not the grand prize nowadays. Gotta be thankful for what ya get. Even saw few guys complain because not sponsored. Ebc was simply a chance for dudes loving "their" brand and enjoying the competition.
