Stepped on the scale today...instantly got depressed.
Hello everybody as of today I stepped on the scale and weight 264 pounds I was shocked I instantly got depressed and I feel like s*** I have struggled with my weight all my life I have gone up from a high of 300 pounds to a low of 193 pounds and shredded I was maintaining a steady weight of 215 pounds until I got my new job 16 months ago and a girlfriend I have now ballooned up to 264 pounds and I feel like utter and complete s*** I'm depressed sad and I cannot believe I let myself get this heavy I'm creeping back to my highway I've gone from a 34-inch waist up to a 38 and that's even getting tight I just want to talk to you guys about this because I don't really know what to do I have no motivation to go to the gym and even when I do I damn near want to cry by the way that I look appearance is everything to me and I've struggled with that my whole life.
I have been drinking a lot of alcohol almost every week and when I'm hungover I eat Non-Stop that only happens once a week but still I know that's hindering my progress. 4 years ago I ran one test cycle of 500 milligrams for 12 weeks and have been clean since currently I'm reverting back to my low carb diet zero carbs any tips advice and motivational comments would really help right now I'm thinking about running some T3 or any amount of drugs just to get back to where I am or where I was I am just right now to look the way I used to it's really f****** with my mind I don't know if you guys really understand this but it is a huge huge hit to my confidence and almost every area of my life I cannot perform well and anything when I feel like I look like s*** and right now I do look like s*** . I avoid going places I avoid pictures and I avoid seeing people that I haven't seen in awhile it's gotten that bad sorry for the long post I got to go now

You need to find some other activity that you enjoy other than the gym that can burn up enough calories to keep you in decent shape when the motivation to hit the gym isn't there. Sometimes I just get sick of the routine and seeing the same fucking people and end up taking a break for a couple weeks or even a couple months, but I have other activities I enjoy that keep me in shape during the layoffs, and then when the motivation returns the joints are well rested etc and I'm back feeling better than ever.
Nate, I can relate to what you are going through. I was a past drug addict and alcoholic. I stopped doing hard drugs cold turkey because I was tired of feeling like a nobody. I had nothing. Only a dead end job to support my habits. You have to sit down and think what is best for your life. Alcohol is a depressant. Your depression will exist as long as you stay on that path. Go to the gym. Get under some free weights. I promise you, hearing clanging 45 pound plates will get you thinking why do I set this aside for some booz. You seem like a good dude. Don't let something like alcohol ruin your life. I sent you a Fr. Message me anytime man
nate_1989I can say im an alcoholic n.I binge drink anytime ive been in great shape is when I stopped drinking due to being in trouble with the law
This has to be resolved before you try to take care of anything else. The elevator is going down bro. You can get off at any floor before it hits the basement. Accept my friend request bro and and PM me and tell me what's going on.
nate_1989I dont see no frnied request?? But I will pm
Go up to your screen name on the top right in the black bar and then click on your avitar and you will see my friend request. You can send me a friend request also. One of us has to accept it so we can become friends otherwise you and I cannot PM.
Bro, as a recovered alcoholic I can only ask that you realize that there are 160 calories in an ounce of pure alcohol. Now, most folk don't drink pure ethanol or even Everclear which is close, but you get the idea. Booze will put pure lard on you like it is going out of style. Stop it. Alcohol is also a powerful depressant. Start there. I hope you don't have a drinking problem. You don't have to drink everyday to have a problem. If you try to stop and find yourself making all kinds of excuses why you want to keep going, PM me. Alcohol will rot away your insides and rot away your muscle tissue before it finally rots away your mind. It doesn't take years either. If I saw you in the flesh, I would know immediately if you look like a lush. Normal people don't know what that looks like, but I do and so does everyone on this board who is like me.
Nobody that is serious about their physique should be drinking alcohol. I gave up booze years ago, not a big deal. Too hard on your liver, dehydrates you, increases estrogen, and builds fat.
Yea I agree to a certain point bro, but you never know what some other's go through and seems a lot turn to drugs or alcohol for some reason and all that shit does is makes it worse in my opinion and exsperience.
I myself take that shit out on the weights and my aggression and makes for a great killer workout.
People are different in many ways tho and take different approaches to there pain and suffering just as they would in any other situations bro.
I have seen different people in the same bad situations and they totally go about there solution in a very different way and manner.
At least he seems to be asking for some help and that is a big plus and huge step for some.
Do not take t3 or any other drugs. It is not a fix and will just cause more health issues, perhaps even death.
Stop the drinking completely. It only adds to your weight problem and helps to perpetuate your depression
Change your diet. Get all of the crap out of the house and soda too if you drink it.
Start doing some cardio everyday. You can stsrt out 3 days a week if you need to at the start. Add in some resistance training.
You already know all of this so it's redundant, but I do understand somewhat where you are at mentally. Truth is, the only thing you can do is do it. Get off the couch, realize that the sun will come up tomorrow whether you like it or not, and just start. Nothing happens till you start. Then it takes time. Dsy after day, keeping at it. You've been there, you fkd it up, and now feel sorry for yourself. You have two choices, pick yourself up and prepare yourself for the greatest comeback in fkn history, or be a fat drunken slob and feel sorry for yourself. Good luck brother and get after it.
Solid advice. I hope the OP listens.
I must say I have traveled the road you are currently on. The posts below are very motivational and provide some great food for thought. Dealing with depression or any mental disorder of any sort can definitely be a road block although a road block that can be passed. Keep in mind these issues tend to be a hybrid condition so they Cary additional issues besides one. You must figure out what the cause of everything truly is. If it's your physical appearance than the focus needs to start there. If that is truly the case than everything else will correct. It's like cutting down a tree. You can cut the branches all day long and the trunk remains standing. If u cut it at the trunk, the hole daMN thing comes down. Cut down the trunk bro. It seams like your physical appearance is your driving factor. Fix that and fix the depression. The depression will cause you to naturally to resort to a comfortable coping measure, in your case it seams to be the drinking and your diet. Listen man, this is something so many face and it's something you can and will overcome. Stay motivated, stay alert, and do your homework. If I were u I'd put any thought of T3 OR any other supplement in the realm on hold. Focus on starting that diet and hit it hard. Start doing little things to get u up and moving. Set small goals and after there complete work your way up. It's amazing what the simple things can do, like helping with the depression. STAY ALERT, STAY ALIVE. You can do this bro. Best of luck.
First off clean up your diet and lay off the booze.
Sounds like you have a lot going on and the weight increase and decrease as you say can have a big toll on your mind and body I have been there and done that several times bro.
I would get bloods pulled and see where you're at and that would tell you a lot right there and see where you stand before you take or do anything bro that would change your true bloods.
I hope you start feeling better bro and get this under control. Seems you have the drive because you have lost the weight before.
Just remember bro the mind is very strong and powerful and can screw with you if you let it.
Think about the good times and things that make you happy and try to focus on that and get out of the depressed state you are in.
Best if luck brother.
Truthfully man, you can have everything you want without t3, or any drug really. You just gotta reach within and decide you want it.
We're our own worst enemies sometimes. It's hard to get motivated when you're fighting depression. Taking anything at all doesn't change that though. I've watched lots of depressed guys run a cycle and do nothing while burning their endocrine system for no gain at all.
Sometimes you just gotta get the fuck up brother. If that's what your goals are.
A big mistake we all make though is basing our identity on this shit. Physical appearance is just that. Nothing more. It doesn't define us, even though we like to pretend it does.
On any given day we could suffer an injury that could take it all away. Then what's left? Just some food for thought. If we're going to define ourselves, we shouldn't put ourselves in such small boxes.
All that being said, the absolute best medicine for depression is motion. Idle hands create a wandering mind. I hope you find it man. Best of luck.
Right on bro.
Go get bloodwork done to make sure your levels are in line. You may also want to see a shrink to talk things out with someone who knows a thing or two and may be able to help from a professional stand point.
Stop drinking, and stay the fuck away from drugs of any kind. They're not going to help you here. Get your mental game in order, get back on a proper diet, and get back in the gym. The hardest part is getting yourself there, once you're in just do your thing. It'll help make it routine again instead of this core it is now.
