Shoulder Surgery ?s

ad

Ok so I am having my 3rd left shoulder surgery and my first was in 97 and it has never been right since. Well my mri showed a posterior labrum tear and bone spurs and cysts. and few other minor things. Thing is I don't want to gain to much fat or lose muscle. I take 225mgs per week for trt.
Question is anything that will help me keep gains while down for surgery. Don't want to take anything in heavy doses. I know hgh will help but not sure if funds will be there for it. If you need more info to answer anything please put in and I will answer asap.
thanks
PS. Have EQ NPP on hand.

I ve been through 2 shoulder surgeries. I stayed on test at 150mg wk and Growth at 4IU. But stayed off other gear till I started training again, then just added in Var at a average dose (40mg Day).

Hey wreckit did you notice a big difference with healing on the 4ius of GH? Guessing it was pharma too, but not sure if you noticed since you were taking test also. Thx man.

It was serostim, the one thing I can say for sure. I have zero trouble with it now. First surgery was in 2002, wasn't ever right till after the second which I used sero with. Other then rehab, I didn't train for 4 weeks. Then started training vey light for 2 weeks then every week after added just a bit of weight.

I had a labrum repair along with a 1/2" of my clavicle cut from my AC Joint. Then they cleaned up my hemoral (sp) head, which had damage from a dislocation.

Obviously this is theory, but I think the sero made a big difference in healing and not having pain once recovered. The surgeon on both were the same.

Bigbadbrad, don't worry about "losing gains" during this phase of your life. Seriously. You need to concentrate on HEALING. That means NO STRESS. Stress will fuck up your healing process, not to mention make you a fat wreck of a man.

Just chill, rest, smile, and let your body heal itself.

When the time comes to get back to the iron, it'll still be there for you. Gravity will still be the dirty whore that she is, and you'll still have to push like hell to deny her the joy of dropping the bar on your chest as you bench.

You'll be back to shape in three months or less when you get back to lifting, ASSUMING YOU REST AND RECOVER. If you're worried about "losing gains" while your arms is dangling from it's shoulder socket, you got the wrong priorities!

I might sound like I'm ragging on you. I'm not. I'm trying to give you some perspective from a guy who's had nagging injuries my whole life. I simply rest, recover, and go back to abusing the one and only body that I have by picking shit up and putting it back down, repeatedly. If you don't rest and recover, you'll have a lifetime of a fucked up shoulder instead of four to six months of a fucked up shoulder.

Yup this right here. Had the same line of thought and caught myself wanting to jump back in head first after having shoulder tendinitis x 2 totally sucked but after about 6 months of strict dieting and no fancy AAS have been able to make imorovemebt by healing.

3rd surgery bro.....DAM.....hate to hear that. I have had issues with my shoulder but it want bad enough that I had to have surgery I just baby mine back to health.

Idk maybe time to reconsider other options bro or some kind of different exercises or other...

What did you do to have 3 surgeries on the same shoulder bro. Must have been very stressful on it or something....

Hope you the best

Im just about 5 weeks postop from rc repair (1.5cm full supraspinatus tear) so I feel your pain. I got back in the gym 4 days after surgery and started cardio on treadmill--just walking 3mph at high incline for first week. Then I started legs and training on unoperated side. I read that training unoperated side will help retain muscle In the immobile operated side ( article below). My doc approved this before I started. I am also taking 4iu gh ( doc doesn't know about this). My shoulder has atrophied, but overall I've held on quite well from my own observation. I'm also out of my sling already and start pt Friday. I think this has helped my recovery--at least anecdotally. I'm not on any anabolics, but I've seen studies that suggest testosterone will help with your recovery so that should help you too.

Only 4 days??? LOL Dayom that's quick! Sounds like you reapproached cautiously tho which is good. Curious why not tell yur doc about the GH tho?

I didn't want him to put it in my medical records.

Keep your food intake up. That's the best thing you can do to retain as much muscle tissue as possible when not training. Don't even worry about gaining a little fat in this time, you can diet fat off so fast when you start training again its a non issue.

I wish I had a suggestion, but I'm actually pre op. Have an appointment for MRI tomorrow. Question, so you regret having surgery and what was the actual diagnosis?

Great question Kingz wondering the same as I did my MRI already. Not a candidate for surgery myself but father in law def regrets having it. Or he's just still pissed off from falling down my stairs! Shit got real quick but that's for another thread ;)

Btw, anyone else get clostriphobic in MRI machines? Had to go to the open MRI that other tube...noped right out of there and felt like a pussy for calling uncle.

Keep your diet up bro. I'm post op as well. Fat gain will likely happen unfortunately. Who cares? It will be minimal if you're good about your diet. And it should come off easy once you're healthy to be active again. It's a lot harder to put on muscle than it is to lose fat. Feed those muscles to keep them around. Slow and steady wins the race.

I tore my pec when I was younger and didnt do or take anything during the 6 week sling period--my recovery sucked to say the least. For r/c tears, it is similar recovery and rehab so I knew I had to do something different. I kept at the gym, took hgh before and currently and feel great. I don't have direct comparison but definitely feel much better and further along than I thought would.
