+ 4 Porn and Peptides

ad

What do porn and GLP1’s have in common?

Instant gratification. As a Gen-Xer, we gave birth to that concept. But boy did that little bastard grow up to be a son of a bitch. Today’s generation has no idea, or desire to experience, the meaning of delayed gratification.

Enter pornography. When I was 12 I had to sneak a peak at my dad’s Playboys, or be lucky enough to have that older bully with the buzz-cut from down the block show me a Hustler that he no doubt stole from the liquor store. Now every 12 year old kid has instant access to unlimited porn of any kind.

So what’s the problem with GLP1s?

Well first of all, I’m not judging. I’ve used them. In fact I recently posted about an 18 month body recomposition during which I lost 48 pounds of fat and gained a substantial amount of lean muscle. There’s no way at my age I could have done that without tirzepetide. Is that cheating? Obviously some say yes. But then so was the Test, Tren, Deca, HGH, IGF-1 LR3, and Anavar I used over the course of that time. Again, at my age (over 50) there’s no way I could have accomplished what I did without the help, and I don’t regret it. (At least not yet).

Besides the fact that I feel amazing and think I look great, before my transformation my blood pressure was high, lipids were bad, A1C was borderline, and I was obese. NOW, every single marker is good. I made sure I got lab work and fixed those things before I ran AAS (besides TRT). And I didn’t allow my doctor to put me on statins or BP meds. I worked my ass off! And that’s also when I used the zep.

But here’s the truth that I know. I took a risk. Not enough long term studies have been done on GLP1s to know all the potential long term effects and possible consequences. And I am wondering if too many people are taking unnecessary risks because of instant gratification rather than putting in the hard work and experiencing the rewards of delayed gratification. And I certainly am not going to play the age card. A 30 year old is free to take the same risks as a 50 year old. I am just wondering, and I’m just being honest about my choices. And I am also wondering what other people think about this so I’d love to hear some respectful opinions and dialogue.

About porn… I’m no hypocrite here either. I used to watch/look at a lot of porn. Mostly in my 20s. Honestly it was an addiction. But I’ve learned that the best sex I could ever have is when my mind hasn’t been desensitized and it’s been a few days since I’ve been my wife… nothing compares to being that sensitive and the intense arousal that I experience from having been patient. Especially on Tren. Haha!

(And I do occasionally look at the daily bitches thread. Damn you @Jockstrap)

Good read! On both subjects. Neighbor kids dad collected penthouse and had probably every single one. Great stack of eye candy to stare at when his parents were out late. And agree as well that we had to wait longer and imo the buildup was well worth it. Anticipation of the next fun date night etc.

And the chems you listed from test tren var etc...I'm glad I took my time on the arsenal. And maybe because I'm older too I just didn't head towards the peptides or glp's. Too paranoid to be that 1 in 1000 that gets bit. Heck....for many types of gear its zits or boner won't work if you go in unprepared.

Everything we have access to is simply a tool in the tool box. Maybe starting low helped or blind luck since those old days we had Dan duchaines magazine to guide us. We all are tempted. Or as you stated we've had pioneers using gear since the creation to go by as a guide and plenty of evidence with it.

My kid has gastropareisis from diabetes and most likely won't make it to 40. It's a nasty illness. And theres those folks like Keith richards....bomb proof. Maybe living the in-between? Or flip the coin? Just read, research and go in educated. It's about all we can do

Addendum/edit: I feel the need to correct myself. As I re-read my post I can see how it sounds a little pejorative towards the younger generation and this was not really my intent and not really what I believe. I actually think it’s most people “nowadays” of every age and every generation who are seeking instant gratification more than ever. Thanks @sandman3698 for helping me see that.

No I acted like a dick and jumped your shit a little bit. I worked at a hospital for about 9 years so I worked around and helped take care of everyone in every generation, now I've been in construction for about 12 years and have worked around all the generations again and can definitely say that no generation is better than the other. There are just as many entitled assholes in each one, just as many lazy retards and just as many who bust their asses and get shit done. So I'm just sensitive to that is all. I apologize again.

No need. I agree.

I think it kinda depends on the use of the GLPs. Using some while you are actually making lifestyle changes to help out some....I think it fine. Now on the other hand I know a lot of people on GLPs, mostly women, and none of them are actually doing anything different with the way they eat or exercise. They are just taking them so they don't eat nearly as much. They still eat crap and don't workout. I am using a little reta on my journey, but no where near the max doses from the studies. I am on 2.5mg a week. I consider it a tool, whereas a lot of the normies I see taking GLPs are doing everything you are not supposed to do while on them. They are eating drastic calorie deficits and not doing any resistance training.

I will be curious once they have been around even longer what kind of effects it has on those people compared to people who used lower or moderate doses while actually making lifestyle changes.

Where do steroids fit into this, or caffeine, or nicotine, or microwave meals, Campbell's soup, sliced bread? Kind of odd to latch onto these two and also bring up "today's generation" like they're the first to want instant gratification.

SemperFi93's picture

Point taken. I guess I just think today’s generation has so many more opportunities for instant gratification. That’s all. But you’re right. It’s nothing new. Also, when I was taking tirzepatide I was still working my ass off (literally). But it seems to me that nowadays people take GLP1s and skip the work and still get results. That’s lazy. Just looking for a pill to fix a problem. I don’t know if that’s possible to do with steroids. Anyway, thanks for your thoughtful input.

I love you.
Edit: I'm sorry for coming off dickish, that generational stuff grinds my nerves.

Hahaha. I get it. And I’m certainly not trying to rage bait anyone. Just open to dialogue.

The demarc: morbidly obese or a vanity play?

SemperFi93's picture

I was 238 at 5’11”. I guess according to BMI charts I was morbidly obese. I didn’t realize how disgusting I looked until now that I look back at pics of myself. I’ve lifted for years and just considered myself “big” but I was fucking fat.

I get what youre saying and I agree with the bigger point. The problem isnt really GLP1s imo its when people use them as a replacement for discipline instead of a tool that helps the work actually stick. You still had to train eat right get bloods done and fix your health markers. The drug didnt do all that by itself. At the same time we really dont know everything about long term use yet so pretending there is zero tradeoff is just as dumb as pretending its cheating. Porn comparison makes sense from the instant gratification angle but GLP1s can also have a real medical benefit so I wouldnt put them in exactly the same box. Delayed gratification still matters. Tools just change how hard the road is.
