popped a stomach muscle!
So a week ago im doing dead lifts with a belt on, I had just increased weight and first rep as im dropping down theres a pop on my right side about where my obliques are. I felt it stretch as well, simular to the belt breaking slightly or something. So I set down the bar and took off the belt to inspect it, nothing wrong with it I thought thats strange and bent down to move the weight and oh fuck stomach pain like a motherfucker. left the gym and went home, very worried, nevy had anything "pop" like that, pain everytime I moved, couldnt sleep for shit, by morning im thinking of dropping my cycle and making a doc appointment. But by mid day the next day, due to work I had to lift some heavy shit and it kinda felt OK. The second day it was almost gone and has stayed that way since, really only feel it when I cough hard! Very strange to me, anybody ever have something like that happen?

Sounds like a mild hernia; if you're in OK with your doc go in just to be sure
Had the same exact thing happen to me on the toilet 2 weeks ago not even joking, hurt to breath in deep for 3 days or so then went away. I almost went to the doctor
sound like a hernia bro, i'd make it a point to go and see the doctor, orthopedic test called valsalvas, hurts when you cough, or blow out/sneeze, indicates space occupying lesion, bulge or something else, in my opinion i would have it looked at even if its feeling better, if your intestine is bulging you wont feel pain after the initial incident only the pain from where it went through the muscle wall. Get it checked
Happened to me doing before but I was doing rope crutches. I din't work abs directly for a while then started doing some moderate weight rope crunches. I had an extreme pain in my side, could barely walk out the gym and drive home. I went to the doc cause I thought it was a hernia but it turned out I just pulled an oblique. You probably did the same thing cause my didn't hurt so much the next day, just take an extra day or two off and ice it a few times throughout the day.
I would still have it checked out. Eliminating the worry of a tear would make me feel better.
I've had the same thing. Just stopped deadlifts for a week and it was fine.
X2. Did mine on hammer strength shrug machine and it took me out 4 wks from any abdominal exercises. It goes away just takes a lil more time if it is bad.
I swear I've felt organs or something move inside me lol it didn't hurt but it did make me worry a bit. I had an operation a couple of years ago and they went in through my abs so I only have 5 pronounced abdominal muscles. The 2 abs on one side are actually bigger and wider to make up for this. I have to be careful lol
Ya thats sounds crazy bro. My appy sugery left me with the same deal.
There is a layer of tendons under the obliques called the superior oblique tendon. You can sometimes get that pop/pain in other places when you over stress a tendon. Just a bit of rest/ taking it easy and should be ok as long as its not torn!!
what if its torn?
It would mean total rest so it heals. doesn't sound like its torn other wise you'd be it a lot of pain. prob just over stretched that and the muscle. should be fine. Just ice it to reduce any inflammation
