On cycle do you prioritize recovery or intensity?

Curious how people balance pushing hard in the gym vs backing off a bit to stay recovered. Interested to hear how others approach it.

With kids I have limited time I can get to the gym, so I usually do 2 full body works a week. Usually Tuesday and Friday.
I’ll use the elliptical for 3-5 miles, lift, steam room, shower, and home.
As other has said, listen to your body. Honesty the biggest upside from gear should be recovery. Should be allowing you to push intensity up and not be ruined for the next for days.
You have to learn your body and how far you can push yourself and you have to be able to tell the difference between a good pain and bad pain. You want to go hard on cycle but you don't gotta k ill yourself and get hurt in order to have gotten a good workout.
These days I try to listen to my body when training. Go hard and intense when I’m feeling it after warming up and getting a feel for the weights. I no longer push myself when I can sense my cns is exhausting. We’ve all had those surprising sessions after little sleep where the weights fly up so it’s not an exact science especially when on cycle.
By doing it. I pushed hard as hell doing a PPL early last year for 2/3 months straight. P, P,L then 1 rest day and ran it again. My CNS got fried due to this and not shoving my face with enough food. So I had to adapt to the speed my body can recover but I also still wanted to be in the gym every day, so how should I edit my routine to my wants and needs?
So to mix it up, I would still run my PPL, but Incorporate a cardio/ab day in between. So, Push, cardio/abs, pull, cardio/abs, Legs, cardio/abs. This layout allows me to be in the gym everyday and also gives my body enough time to recover without over reaching and frying my cns. Have been running the same ever since and is working great FOR ME
This exactly what I found my way to through trial and error.
Feelings slightly vindicated haha.
Now that im on a "cruise" of 200 test 200 primo though... I might need to throw an actual rest day in though. Been napping a lot.
Those first weeks after clearing out the high doses were a shock, I forgot what DOMs felt like!
bro i would do like a cardio day but my job is cardio i get 25k steps everyday. should i still just get my heartrate pumpin though i like that split
I would leave the cardio out then bro. Hit some abs for 30 min or low back ext like bro below mentioned, or calve work, mix it up . Stuff your face
My "easy day" after my ppl is abs, low back extensions, reverse ez bar curls, tibialis and grip training!
My forearms are blowing up using a plate loaded handle with a string you roll up, and an adjustable grip trainer.
I also bought a grip tester to track my grip gains and interestingly, im stronger with my non dominate hand, at 165 pounds body weight I grip 142lbs with my left hand which is pretty impressive imo (my only impressive metric admittedly)
