I pinned 1.5cc test p in my right quad, and when I pulled the pin out a significant amount of oil and blood flowed out for almost a minute . Used a 1 in pin.
I've pinned my quads probably 100 times and never had this happen.
Now there is a bee sting size lump that is sensitive but not painful.
Obviously I will keep an eye on it, if redness, swelling , streaking or fever occur I'll go to the doc.
Anyone had this happen before ? First time Occurance... Kinda freaky !

Yep, and it will happen again for sure. It happens (not often) typically when a person is in a hurry pinning quads. Just make sure you asperate.
Anoni'll tell you what kinda freaked me out this morning:
pinned 1cc of prop in the left quad w/ 1" 25g. like always, i felt the muscle to make sure it wasn't tensed up or any knots present. felt normal, so i pinned that shit. when the needle went in, i felt some strange resistance about 1/4 to 1/2 way in. pushed thru and it got harder to push. i can't describe the feeling at all... it kinda made me think i was going thru cartilage or something, which i know is crazy as fuck. aspirated and no blood. now that shit is sore as hell.
only thing i can think is that i had a knot and somehow missed it when feeling for one.
Mostly likely you pushed through scar tissue. It happens in my left delt a lot. Almost sounds like something is ripping inside there. It feels weird for sure. I'm pinning a virgin calf muscle this morning. I'm honestly a little nervous about that.
AnonThat's the first thing that came to mind. But, how quickly can scar tissue build up? I've only been pinning my quads for a couple weeks.
CleyonReally quick. Scar tissue can build up within a couple of days, and will actually break down and dissipate eventually if left alone. It's a matter of where in the muscle fiber ect. Don't stress about it, you just had an unlucky pin.

Anonhappens to me if my muscles are not relaxed when i pin. also happened recently, the same way you describe, with my delt. oil and blood came out, and a good bit of it, and i had a decent sized knot to message down while in the shower.

Happens to me a lot when I get in a hurry. You're all good, just might find it a little uncomfortable. Ibuprofen really helps. I pinned a little too much in my tri earlier today. I can tell its gonna be a little sore tomorrow but it's not a big deal. Oil in that subQ layer can become a little sore, but it's very common.
scootertrampYes ive had it happen a couple times. Pin wrnt through a vein so aspiration was good. Pulled out and made a lil puddle of blood on floor. Next time use direct pressure on the site just like and wound to stop bleeding. The bump under skin is a mix of oil and blood so it is irritating. You will be fine.
CleyonSounds like you tried to inject directly into scar tissue. I'd start varying the depth of your injections. Since I've started doing that it's become much easier.
