New job, new diet
ad
Guys i start a new job 2morrow. I will be working 12 hour shifts 4 days one week and then 3 days the next week. Its the kind of job where you never know when youre gonna get a break. We make books so the printing presses are always running. My buddy worked there and said some days hed be too busy to eat at all. This is a big time issue for me. Ive worked so hard for 2 years str8 and now im afraid im going to lose all my mass. I guess ill just have to start packing with me some really calorie dense quick meals/snacks. Any of you guys have this problem? Can i get some suggestions about what to do to stay big? Thanks in advance.

bro, have protein shakes at the ready all day! i order whey isolate from americanpurewhey.com. the prices are great. i order 50 lbs at a time. it is a staple in my diet when i am busy because of classes and work.
I feel your pain bro Ill be starting a new job monday working the exact same hours/days as you. I wont know exactly how they handle break situations till my first day, their unionized though so I should be cool.
i have the same problem. i work moving. on my feet all day carrying heavy nonsense. never know how long the day will be. im lucky enough to be the foreman, so i have the luxury to stop and eat whenever the fuck i see fit. i usually pack:
-a couple of Big 100 protien bars
-myoplex light shakes (leaner that muscle milk. 2 grams fat. 20 grams proteins each)
-hard boiled eggs
-greek yogurt
-chicken salad sandwiches (theres a healthfood deli by me owned by a famous body builder. id give him a shout out but dont want to zero down on my location. makes me some great salad filled with tons of chicken and fat free omega 3 sauce. great stuff)
-whatever other meet i have around that could be ate cold
-baby carrots and some fruit.
its fucking hard bro. i feel your pain. shit fucks with my gym schedule too. great for getting cut though.
put food in your pockets. try to snack as much as possible. If they wont let you eat look for a new job. Whats more important.
Between my odball job etc.......whey protein mixed in with my coffee for generic mocha keeps me going. Every 3 hours make a mix and sip when you can. Chicken tenderlings are like $8/bag. Boil em and eat at breaks with a hotsauce as its bland. Chicken digests very slowly....where as whey is fast. Mix breaks up with tuna. Yogurt with granola adds milk protein and carbs. Gobble on breaks and whey drink between will keep proteins high. Hope it helps.
g, if i have to i will eat cold food. i typically drink my food down with water, it helps. your going to have to pre pack all your food for the day the night before in tupperware, keep it in a bag close to you. if thats too much i would recommend getting a blender and blending some of your meals in to shakes, add some fruit or other flavoring if it sucks drinking it. j0n said it the best "if you WANT IT BAD ENOUGH, you will make it happen."
I have kinda that problem also. I have to bring everything for all day an always working straight through. Just try an bring foods you could eat really quick while still getting your essential calories and nutrients. You will figure it out when u start the job as when an what you can do so. I hope the best for you.tho bro. You gotta want it!!
you're going to have to get into a groove brother. if you WANT IT BAD ENOUGH , you will make it happen.
