Medical advice needed

ad

went to doctor yesterday and my blood pressyre was really high so they gave me a EKG. they said my ekg was abnormal that it shows my heart is slightly enlarged. my question is, would this all just be from being on a cycle and will it go back to normal when i am off? and how dangerous is it to have high blood pressure while on a cycle?

Above, but near, high normal boarder line: Mild; stage 1 Hypertension.

The normal range for BP is 90/60 (low normal); 120/80 (optimal); 140/90 (high normal)

154/94 can be a normal Morning reading, or an expected reading after eating a meal containing salty, fatty food.

You should get a home monitor and figure out what what your daily/weekly average is. Drink more water, get rid of salt, add omega's to your diet.

My BP used to be around 190/110 (stage 3) now it's around 110/75

did you use any bp meds?

Greg's picture

No, I took drastic measures to change my diet and exercise. It was a major wake-up call.

What is your BP anyway? borderline 140/90 or severe 220/130?

eastcoastmuscle's picture

154/94 is that really high or borderline?

let the doc give you the advice bro no one on her is i doctor i dont think lol but i dont think 1 cycle would enlarge your heart but i dont know your best bet is to come clean with your doc

What was your BP before you went on cycle?
What's your cholesterol level?
It's easy to take the BP drugs but better if you change your lifestyle to get it under control. Fish/flax oil, cardio, lose weight , drink more water/less alcohol, no salt, meditation, etc, etc...

i am at work and dont have my bp reading with me, but i have always been borderline high even when not on a cycle. i do cardio 5 times a week, 40 min, my bodyfat is pretty low, so im in pretty good shape right now.. i will have to try the fish oils

I would stop if I was you. Go get your BP under control.

Hi bro, high blood pressure is bad full stop, but easy to fix. I just had the same diagnosis as you 6 weeks ago
Il get to the point.

-get your doc to prescribe an ACE inhibitor (blood pressure).
-get prescribed an STATIN (cholesterol).
-take an AI on cycle to keep water retention to a minimum.
-certain drugs are know to skyrocket blood pressure {dbol, tren}
And im pretty sure heart enlargement is permanent.... Slightly enlarged isnt too bad, but Ide advise finding an endocrinologist to do blood work and keep you healthy while using gear. It makes using gear much safer because they know what to look for.

would the slightly enlarged heart be from the juice, would they make your heart grow a little bit while on cycle? the heart is a muscle correct?? and they do want me to go on blood pressure meds, didnt know if that was om on cycle also

Greg's picture

I might be wrong but I think it was a concern but hasn't been shown to actually happen.
Following that logic I've always wondered why my tongue doesn't swell because it's a muscle, and lord knows I exercise it a lot. ;-)

poofinger's picture

haha dirty. Love it.
Not sure about the tongue.
Im just passing on what my cardiologist told me.

The heart can enlarge from:
High blood volume (gear)
Constant high blood pressure (gear, over weight, water retention).

Yes the heart is a muscle, If you add more muscle mass, the heart has to supply more blood (pump harder), so after its little workout it grows too!

Going on blood pressure meds wont affect your cycle.

Your heart wouldnt of enlarged just from gear or one cycle... it happens over time... years

I went from 85kg to 135kg over 10 years, now im paying the price. Ive lost over 10kg the past few months coz of the same health scare as you. It sux... but health comes first bro. Just keep seeing your doc and he`l get you thru it.
