+ 4 Major injury mid-cycle

ad

I am currently mid-cycle (8 weeks) and just tore my rotator cuff. Surgery is soon and 6-9 month recovery time. What should the remainder of my cycle look like?? Continue as planned, or taper down and end the cycle? Any advice is appreciated.

Solid advice. Thanks for the insight.

Hello. First of all, good health to you and a good operation. I first consulted with doctors for better tactics. But I would lower testosterone to the minimum dosages and do it solo.

Thank you for the response. Just tapered down to TRT base level.

I think this is the right step. How are you doing now?

Surgery went well. 4-6 month recovery, so it’s a mental game now. Tapered down to TRT level and doing what I can with the other 3/4 of my body. Thanks for asking.

Great news, I wish you to feel even better than now.

How did it go buddy?!

there is no point finishing your cycle unless you want to just concentrate on legs. Sorry, but a torn shoulder is a fucking bummer and can have lasting effects.

Thanks you! Stay strong and healthy.

Last set of incline dumbbells.

Come off cycle. Listen to your doctor. If you keep working out you could be damaged for life. Pct off or trt whatever your on.

Kind of what I figured. Time to taper down to my TRT dosage. Thank you.

Time to start PCT.

If its pretty much made your entire upper body unusable which I suspect it has then it is probably best to end the cycle. If there are still exercises such as leg press, hack squats etc that you want to do then maybe you could see the rest out but it depends on if you want to carry on training or not or just rest up until the surgery. How did you tear the RC?

Cashman's picture

Thank you for the reply. I’m going to keep training, but can’t do anything with my left arm. Was doing my last set of incline dumbbells when my left RC tore and my left arm rotated backward with the dumbbell in hand. Hoping to keep some of my gains, but sounds like tapering down to my TRT dosage is probably best. Thanks again.

Fackin hell man Ouch!!! Ya see this is the thing with dumbells, although others advise against flat barbell pressing because of the same potential injuries associated with it - at least it is more stable and controllable esp in a rack or with a spotter present. With dumbells there is so much more control and balancing required, if things go eery which they can do quickly correcting their line is extremely hard to do and its a case of dropping them there and then which can be very awkward to do depending on where you are in the lift. But as with most injuries there isn't much you can do to prevent them from happening if they are going to happen, you just have to sit back and be patient and let them heal.
