Lump/Bump below deltoid (between delt/bicep)

ad

So Im not sure what this lump/bump is below my deltoid. Yes I injected my deltoid correctly. Alcohol wiped the section. alcohol wiped the vial. Clean needle, etc. Done it a thousand times. Injected into the middle of my delt like I always do. However this is the first time using Sust and NPP. Also my first time injecting more than 0.8ml into my delt.

About 1 day later I noticed some puffyness at the bottom of my delt inbetween where my delt and bicep is. Like puffy swollen kind of. Which was odd since this isn't near where I injected. Its like a good 4 fingers lower than injection site. Slightly hurts to the touch but nothing outlandish. Not really red other then me f'n with it. Its about 1 inches by 3 inches I would say.

Ofcourse I read horror stories of Abscess. However it was my first time inject over 0.8ml into my delt. So Im not sure if maybe I just can't handle 1.5ml in my delt and should stick with 1ml or is it "pip" from the short ester of Sust? Is it from injecting to fast and the oil didn't absorb or spread out enough? I warmed up the oil and it went in pretty quickly. Maybe I did it to quickly and should have gone slower.

I have done 2 previous injections into my glutes with the same product (Sust/NPP) with no issues at all. Only when I tapped into my delt have I had this issue.

Thoughts? Its day 2 now and really no change as far as appearence/feel.

(Today I did another injection on my other delt) I split it up. About 0.8ml into my delt and the rest into my Ventroglute. I have some Pip but nothing out of the ordinary like yea I just got a shot at the doctor.

Sounds like an infection or severe inflammation my friend. Majority of the time you get this type of lump, it will go away in a week or less without issue. Just go to a doc to be safe. Three reasons why this can happen: bacteria in the vial/on your skin, on the top of your vial, (why we always use alcohol pads), or high dosed oil, crystallization of oils due to improper warming/viscosity.

Also thats why you don't skip using alcohol pads before and after pinning.. bad bacteria can also be on the surface of the skin.

Any updates? I know its been about 13 days since you posted this

I don’t do well with sust or prop. I love the effects, but it just doesn’t love me. If I had to guess, kinda throwing darts here, I’d say your injection leaked out of its pocket and has settled in that area at the bottom of your deltoid. Now you have a puddle of oil and solvent that your body is throwing an anaphylactic response to. Anti-inflammatory meds and a heating pad. Send Dr Drex a coffee if that clears it up.youre going to want to drink more water while your body is dealing with this as well.

Solvent is gone before oil, even mct oil

Yes, however the carrier is rarely the cause of inflammation until you start getting into guaiacol and stuff like that. MCT is used so often because it’s generally agreeable. Now here’s the issue, although the solvent has dissipated, there’s still inflammation from the allergic response, so the body is going to keep up its immune response until that inflammation is gone completely. A lot of guys brush off those lumps because they typically clear up in a week or two, it’s actually pretty serious business. If your body can’t deal with it, you’re in trouble and looking at some very strong IV meds or surgery to remove tissue. I’d gamble to say the original poster has a low grade fever. Over 99, under 99.6 though.

DeeMan's picture

Yea guaiacol is the solvent that can be irritating. I wasn't disagreeing but just saying the solvents were dispensed before the oils that's all. I don't think we can point a finger at one thing as far as cause of pip. And yes the body does have it's way of dealing with inflammation and a sterile abscess is one way.

I had something similar it looked like a baseball(hematoma) off my rear delt. Actually people said it looked like it was dislocated. It went away but took a month or so. Thankgod. That was 13 years ago im still alive but it was 1cc shot of 100prop100trenA100mastP rear delt shot

Drexyl's picture

I’ve had it happen the exact same as him in my side delt, and in my glute. It leaked out and pooled a little over an inch from the injection site. Both stayed sore for about 2 weeks. Those solvents can be a motherfucker.

DeeMan's picture

Damn...Solvents usually are gone within a few days in muscle or fat. At 2 weeks probably was something else. A Few factors to it. For example sometimes a hormone or ester itself can be inflammatory..
Ex: Bold acetate etc

TheIcon's picture

Suppose the whole Z method could be handy during injection.

@Drexyl So you are saying you think it basically was pulled out an leaked between the muscle and skin? I did have some leakage on the surface.

DeeMan's picture

Ok so if on the surface then it does seem like leakage from injection site. I was thinking about pip spreading way across the muscle like you mentioned, that's happened to me. Two different situations but this seems like leakage.
Hopefully injection is deep enough

Drexyl's picture

Yeah buddy, I’d say that’s exactly what happened. It’ll pass, just make sure you’re going deep enough into the tissue. I personally z track when injecting my glutes, if you figure out a way to do that with your delt, by yourself, I’d love to hear it lol. Shit, so would the AMA…

TheIcon's picture

So I slept with my heating pad on my arm and taking Advil. Doesn't appear anyworse then the day before. Def just seems liek I just have a rather large SubQ injection basically and will take some heating and time to go down and be absorbed. Reading up on others that have done 0.5 - 1.0 ml subq it seems to be exactly what I have.

So I am guessing the issues was I heated the oil too much. (def was hotter than I normally do) and the dosage was about twice as much as I have done in my delt. Between those two I think is what caused the problem.

My other shoulder which I did yesterday. With half the dose and didn't warm like prior seems to be fine. No issues at all.

So now I know Smile

Thanks @Drexyl @DeeMan

Think I should avoid IM injections on that shoulder for awhile or think next week it is ok to do even if the lump remains. As I said the lump is much lower than injection site.

DeeMan's picture

@TheIcon glad you got it figured out. That heat should help. I've been in that situation before. It sucked.

Drexyl's picture

I’m glad it’s working out for you, you’ll be fine bro. Helping each other is what the community is here for. Keep the heat on it and avoid that site for 2 weeks. I’m a French vanilla guy, with cream and sugar. How do you like your coffee @DeeMan ? Lol

DeeMan's picture

Like I said above..warming the oil will thin the oil and increases chances of leaks.
Z method may help.

Hopefully injection is deep enough

TheIcon's picture

Yea I had it quite warm. more so than usual to be honest.

DeeMan's picture

Easier to move through needle and inject right...well also easier for oil to move through muscle. Alot of folks think injection of oil stays in one spot but if oil is warm and thin not always the case. Thicker viscosity..less movement

DeeMan's picture

Thanks for your input my man. Some of these guys were probably thinking I'm talking nonsense lol. Sounded crazy I know but yes it happens.

I remember Hellraiser

Thanks Doc Smile

I just did left delt today. I did 1ml and the rest ventroglute so we will see in 2 days how that arm does.

I never worry about lumps unless its been there for a week, then I start to take notice of it. If its still there and is bigger after 2 then its time to either go to the hospital or attempt to drain it yourself. Often longer esters can just get trapped if you have scar tissue forming, then it will lump up and become painful. This is worst case scenario though - if its only day 2 then I personally don't think its worth worrying about. The only time I have ever run into issues is when I bought cheap, shitty unknown oils.

koensayr_s3's picture

Hi there @Thelcon. What you are describing has happened to me a few times in the past. It seems weird because the spot that is swollen is a couple inches lower than the injection site, right? Well, I would not be concerned unless the swollen area is red, hot to the touch, or if you are starting to feel sick.
When it happened to me, I had switched from one brand to another brand's test e. Apparently, my body didn't like the new brand because every time I would pin the left delt, I would get an uncomfortable bump right where my bicep and delt met. No other injection site had this occur. Once I stopped using that batch of testosterone, the issue went away.

I have had an abscess as well (in my chest), and that was no fun. From how you describe it, that is not the situation you currently face.
Best of luck. I hope the reaction dissipates quickly.

TheIcon's picture

Yep you described it. I thought about switching brand. Because I have another brand. However the fact that it doesn't bother me in my glute I found it odd that it woudl bother me in my delt. Which leads me to believe maybe its just too much in my delt of Sust/NPP.

So like I said below to Ross I am curious to see how my Left Delt goes in two days. If it is better or same. If better then I am going to guess its the amount I injected or speed. or both.

Rosschestzip's picture

I did some suspension in my delt and it had a rock hard know for like three weeks, it was weird, I’ve never had anything like it before. I wouldn’t be too worried unless it gets red and warm/hot. Probably couldn’t handle the amount and the compound, like you might be able to handle 1.5 of something else and you might be able to handle .5 of the sust/NPP but just not 1.5 of sust and NPP if that makes sense

Maybe try doing some light lateral raises if you can to loosen it up

Yea its not tight or anything. Just a lump. Like fluid came to rest there. Which again I used a 1" syringe in my delt which I use all the time. As long as it doesn't get any worse tomorrow. Ill probably let it go. Im curious to see how my left Delt feel by Sunday since I pinned that today.
