+ 8 Life go's on...

ad

I posted about a year-and-a-half to 2 years ago referring to my past experiences with drugs and going clean.. This site helped me with all the information that was given and the people willing to give you the time of day to support your positive decision. Well all went well and after hitting a top weight of 230 at 12% I was very confident and the direction I was headed. Only to be headed back from a gym and be hit by drunk driver, I was in the hospital for 6 months. I had to learn to walk and also find the confidence to start training after I lost everything I worked so hard for the past 8 years. I had surgery on both knees and train is much harder than it's ever been. Because there's so much pain involved when back in the day I never felt anything like this. It feels very good to be back and I've already lost 35 lbs. But it'll be a long road to recovery. I just want to say thank you for everybody who remained friends and kept in contact . Much respect, thank you. Best place u will ever find for honest information and people who care about your health more than you at points.
I will post progress pictures. I appreciate all you thank you for all your support

A lot of shitty things happen in life - some you can control, some you can't. Good to see you back into training. Keep at it, set goals, strive and achieve. Good luck.

Brother, baby steps forward is STILL MOVING FORWARD. You know this from sobriety. It's shitty at first, then it gets a little easier. Then, you find yourself putting a lot of energy into living, not just existing. Baby steps brother, baby steps. Your mind is right for this journey you're on. Keep making those baby steps, and celebrate each new plateau. It'll help you set goals along your way that you'll accomplish, then when you're looking back, it'll help you realize how far you've come, one baby step at a time. You can do this.

Lifting/exercise is the best medicine you can take. Not only to recover from your injuries, but to help with addiction. Remember that it will take a long time to recover, so be patient and to enjoy the ride each day. Best of luck.

Goodluck brother. I to have been through similar struggles involving drugs and alcohol. I had a huge problem with cocaine in the past and almost became a full blown alcoholic. 3 years ago I also had to under-go 2 major operations that where life threatening but I came through the otherside... Your positive attitude will go a long way. Keep it up!

Much Respect to you as I feel your pain. I too got hit by a drunk driver, head on but at 45mph. My truck went thru, up and over her car. With multiple injuries I was back to work within a month, I could not imagine 6 months with knee injuries. The fact that your back in the gym shows your strength. Your a fuckin beast. Kepp your chin up, Keep the reps up.
