I have upvoted 16 times, and downvoted 2 times so I'm no negative Nancy on here and certainly appreciate everything this site does and provides to people around the world.
I have recently posted one questionably negative source review where my order was shipped to an address after I requested and address change. After this was brought up to the source they became very short and defensive. I then provided evidence of me requesting the change well before the ship date on more than one occasion.
With my low KARMA at 14, it already has seen a 2 point drop. If we cannot honestly review on here what's the point of even putting an honest review to help others not make the same F up?

On the other hand OP, if you had high karma to begin with, more people would likely have believed your honest review, and your karma would have been raised as a result.
I mean no disrespect to my online peeps, but every forum and chat room I have ever been on has a prison-like mentality. In the real world you could be a medical doctor, have gone to Harvard Law, or have your Ph.D. in Biochemistry. Online -- just like in prison -- that education of yours means absolutely jack shit! It's the guys who have been around longest, have built up the "cred," and who hold the most rank that get respect.
CleatusBoy, I think this is a case of lack of familiarity, credibility, and karma ranking as far as your review is concerned. I'm not saying you are wrong, but that is how it appears, IMO. I know it sucks, being that I have next to no karma.

KMC, the main theme was not if someone receives positive karma for a review. I'm obviously not as knowledgeable as yourself when it comes to this site. However, I personally could not give a shit about karma. That's not to knock anyone on this site, but that is how I feel. I said, "It sucks having low karma," but not because I desperately want it. It sucks having no karma because people have a higher propensity to bash you unnecessarily.
I'm here to learn and make observations in the process. I freely admit I am a flawed human being.

For people who want legit karma like mine, no pics ever, mines all from fighting the battle in forum trenches. I have made a shit tonne of forums, ive deleted them all over the years due to shit fights and trolls but when you delete forums comment counter goes down with them, i estimate 3,000 comments of mine are gone.
You want karma you help and contribute in forums, not gay jokes in si pages or uploading pics everyday.
Regulars know this and people who fight the good fight will be noticed and rewarded with karma, ive actually noticed quite a few newish guys doing well in there and ive given a few bumps for good work, others do the same.

It has mellowed even since I became a mod. (But that has also been over two years now ) We get spurts of trouble where it can get crazy but it is much rarer than it used to be. Another thing is many of the former problem members decided they liked the place and took to helping instead of harming.

The karma deduction is automatic when a review is flagged. You should never have posted your issue as a review. If you had taken it to the Si pages I bet you would have been advised by your peers to take ownership of your error.
Sure it would have been great if your attempts to correct the error was caught by the source before hand. But it looks like your process to resolve the issue wasn't the one they needed you to follow.

Lol all good man I've seen people get banned for reviews but they really fucked it up and posted personal shit and all that reviews have to be 100% on point it's easy to mess up there are a lot of negitive reviews with plus karma also

It all depends if you violated rules without knowing what your review was it's hard to see what side to choose. Rules are pretty easy to violate in reviews I wouldn't worry about it to much maybe go proof read your review and make sure you didn't violate and if your in the clear contact a mod good luck bro
