Injectable Multi Vits
ad
Hello,
I am interested in people's views of injectable vitamins, whether they feel it is worth it?
As a routine anaemic, I always seem to run low in B and D levels and pills seem to take me to too sub therapeutic levels, never to exceed! So exploring the option of finding a good injectable multivitamin as I would rather not take one vitamin in isolation if possible. I've even considered cattle/vet grade vitamin injectables.
Also appreciate any EU source indications too.
Thanks.

AnonNo need to inject vitamins buddy. For b12 you use the sublingual lozenges of the methyl cobalamin about 3,000-5,000 mcg is perfect once a day. As for vitamin D it will depend on how low your levels tested. I find that about 2000 iu a day is fine for most people, if your level is really low you can double that for a month then go back down to 1000-2000 iu daily. As for the rest just take a whole food multi and eat well! Take your fat soluble vitamins and fish oils with meals that contain fat for better absorption
RustyhookerAnd most folks self generate vit d just with 15 minutes of sun a day. I think folks get so enthralled with needles, they start shooting everything. One guy few weeks back shooting aminos vs eating.
Do you have pernicious anemia? B12 and B complex injections are your friends if so. Why not get a script from your physician for them? Sublingual or mouth to stomach route will not work in your case because you lack something called IF (intrinsic factor) in your gut to break down and absorb B vits and iron from food and suuplements. Methylcobalamin is best for you and cyanocobalamin is ok.
Hi Flaccidego,
I've been tested but it's actually Iron that's the issue for me. As for prescription, maybe if I go to a private GP. The NHS in the UK do not really like to dish out injectibles. It's very hard to get.
Thanks for the reply.
Glad you don't have pernicious anemia. I used to source my B12 injectable from a popular Canadian source I found by Google: B12 shot Canada
Thank you I will definitely look into that source.
Do what every other normal person does and swallow pills bro. What is it with you guys wanting to inject everything anyways?
Hi Goose24,
I struggle to get what I require to stay optimal which is why I'm routinely deficient even while taking pills. I know this vecause I spent some time earlier this year hooked up to an IV for Iron infusions due to severe deficiency.
I know there are vits you can take subcutaneously, that is what I'm interested in. I will not messing with any that require IV sdministration (Iron and etc.)
Also I'm a lady not a 'bro!' ☺ I know some people are pin happy but I like to understand as much as possible before making such choices.
Thanks for your reply.
Eeeek!!! Can u share any info.that you have researched, so far, regarding IV/IM administration of multivitamins? I have had patients on intravenous fluids mixed with MVI. Cant say that i have ever admin'd any vitamin IM...B12 was IM, Iron, K, Mg,, Ca, Na, HCO3-was IV. Be careful messin with that stuff from veternarian supplies. You can kill urself real quick...
Hi MedDx,
Initially I reviewed some old posts on various forums discussing absorption rates. I looked into vet grade but there is so little regarding human usage and I cannot help but think they will some how be prepared in less sterile environments because a vet has to do is 'antibiotic' the problems away. Also people commented on the high amounts of alcohol used in vit solutions which makes injections painful. However could find very few responses confirming that it was just as good or better tab going for other sources. Just that it was cheaper to buy.
I really only looked at self administering subcutaneous options but would consider IM as currently on HGH so used to safe injection protocols. I would not touch IV's though without medical administration/involvement.
Vit B12 seems to be the most commonly available but a little hard to source in the UK. Maybe that is just because I am not in the know.
I will continue researching but looking forward to some direct input here too.
Thanks for your time.
