+ 2 I'm withering away physically and mentally

ad

So I went in for dental surgery this past weekend. I'm getting implants and was supposed to have the whole process done this visit, however there was alot of bone graphing that had to be done so as of now I have no teeth in my head. I've been consistently getting good gains and leaning out. But I'm as Lean as I am comfortable being. But now I can't eat anything except eggs. It has killed my appetite from the mental aspect. I need some words of encouragement and advice what can I do to get the calories I need to not loose anymore weight. I'm not lifting right now because I feel like I will get injured or loose weight even faster. I'm probably only getting 1000 cals between eggs and peanut butter milkshakes a day. Im interested in smoothies just scared to spend a bunch of money on shit I can't tolerate. Let me know if anyone has been threw this. If I would have known this was going to be a 3 week or longer endeavor I would have definitely started some gh and bpc to help the healing and maintaining. But it's a little late for that now. I'm still taking multi vitamins magnesium k2 d3.

"Only eggs" gotta think outside of the box. You're going through it so you can't think clearly. You are determined to keep gains so you can come up with some meals to eat even if it doesn't taste the best. Don't matter. Sometimes I'll get 2 cups of steel cut oatmeal. A fat teaspoon of PB. Use high protein milk. A banana. Couple of boiled eggs. Just smoosh the eggs, banana, and PB in the oatmeal. Shit is GOOD. Eggs are just "filler" but everything in there together tastes great. Maybe use a little honey. You got a big bowl packed full of protein. All soft.

I went through this. 14 hours of surgery, Full removal, 10 implants, 6 top-4 bottom, bone grafting/mesh inlay. 50k and 6 months recovery. Everyone I know loses substantial weight going through this process. It comes back so fast on the back end and you’ll feel a million times better too. Just gotta deal with the liquid diet and no upping the heart rate. If you raise your heart rate before healing, you will feel all the areas from surgery pulse like a mf. It’s wild. Heal up, don’t cause complications. Come back harder.

press1's picture

No upping the Heart rate - Ain't that the truth pal!!!

First time I had 3 put in, I was on Test, Tren and DBol and 1 of them failed LMAO I am sure it was down to my high BP & HR. Never made the same mistake again and have always been on Test and NPP on surgery day and whilst healing. The implants keep bleeding and take forever to properly heal and fuse with the bone don't they if its higher. Also don't train for at least 3 days after surgery especially when in the lower jaw where BP is higher - the upper jaw seems to have less issues and heals much quicker. I believe its down to the bone being less dense in the upper area and having more blood vessels in it. The mandible is harder and of denser, stronger bone.

Youre on the path! Theres gear that slows clotting and healing. When im healing its hgh. Primo has been documented to raise resostance to flu etc. But when healing theres good options. And options that retain mucle better imo

Spool's picture

It’s crazy how you can take so much stuff for granted but that’s the reality of this kind of thing. It doesn’t take much to screw something up and double if not triple the recovery time. I know I could feel my heart rate all over the inside my mouth for a while after. I cant imagine Dbol pumps with Test/Tren base up in there after, Good God.

Did you get sedation mate? I made the mistake of thinking I was a tough guy on my first rodeo and we only got one tooth done - it wasn't that what they were doing bothered me as such, but the reality of keeping you mouth wide as hell for like 45 mins and not being able to swallow or get the open hole wet was uncomfortable as fuck, she actually refused to do anymore unless I was sedated and not wriggling around in the chair LMAO I assume for the size of the job you had you were properly knocked out?

It was an oral sedation a single pill and a couple benzos for the anxiety. I was lopsided but awake the while time listening to the teeth break and pop out of my skull. I'm on test and deca tappered my dosages a couple weeks before surgery. I literally laid in bed from Saturday after procedure until yesterday evening just made myself move around a bit. But couldn't afford to miss any more work so I went in today and did get my heart rate up a couple times and gawdAmn I'm laying down with an ice pack on my jaw now trying not to ball to my wife. I just ate a big ass sweet potatoe and basically that's the best thing I've gotten in me since friday. Needed it bad.

Okay so right now you are waiting on the bone to heal up so you can have the implants put in? You have had the teeth removed and some bone grafting done so far?

Have they given you any temporary dentures to put in so you can eat?

Splittheshit's picture

No dentures. I guess it would possibly effect the grafting. But going to be minimum of 3 more weeks just to see of I'm healing right.

Yea. I maxed out the federal mandate for how much anesthesia they were legally allowed to give a patient…and I still woke up. They had my eyes covered and my face wrapped so I could only hear and feel dull pressure. Oh, and I pissed all over everyone apparently too. My bill for just anesthesia alone was insane. I can’t imagine trying to do without it.

press1's picture

HAHAHA LMFAOOOO!!! Ohh man its my worst nightmare waking up with the mouth blocks on either side locking my jaw open! Mate I've heard of people shitting themselves too, just imagine that pal. Did they have to clean you up then - the dental nurses??

In a promo × 1
Spool's picture

They advise you to not eat or drink for 48 hours before it which I did but I still pissed. I can’t imagine shitting myself during that. Oh my god. I know they had my family try to help and they were all holding me up at the toilet at some point. They just left me in my piss covered clothes. I know I was really nasty to everyone at one point but I wasn’t myself. Hours of drill bits in your skull and jaw, not gonna make for a happy camper.

press1's picture

I always get paranoid pal that I've said something to the dental nurse there who I like when under, she was quite off with me after one particular surgery and I can just imagine some dirty subconcious shit I would end up saying to her. I am awake and talk to them apparently but because they give me midazolam it wipes my memory so can't remember a single thing. First time they sedated me I refused to open my mouth apparently and locked it, the anaesthetist did this jaw unlock manouver they do where he inserts his fingers under your jaw in the neck and I supposodly went apeshit with him over it LMAO Couldn't move or anything but was calling him all sorts.

Spool's picture

The memory wipe is the craziest feeling. And for sure you know you said some shit, what you may have said you’ll never know but that’s part of the fun about it. I do miss anesthesia though.

press1's picture

I've always thought how can it be 'conscious sedation' when in your mind you are knocked out - But the reality is you are just very sedated and awake but the revolving Amnesia where I guess for a few seconds there is a memory but then its wiped is a nutty experience. Apprently he had a hard time keeping me sedated on those 2 so he has started adding in fucking Ketamine too!! I feel that bastard working within a few seconds pal as I go so dizzy laid in the chair, I feel like I am about to fall off it but then I just pass out LMAO

Yup, it is really similar to alcohol blackout, the “date r**e” drug, or Xanax. When people get to that point they are still “functioning” but there is nobody home. And rarely do they have any recollection of what happened after the fact, which is freaking crazy when you think about it. I’ve only ever had Ketamine for sedation one time and they combined it with a gas mask mixture thing. Literally same thing, felt like I was falling off the chair. I remembered thinking holy fuck, I am fucked up and then lights out. Click.

I've had about 3 or 4 surgeries by now, plus been knocked out to have 10 rotten teeth pulled out of my lower jaw lol The Trick to it pal is not to think about it all, even on surgery day. Go in there and get laid out on the chair and get the sedation needle inserted into your hand. Watch the Propofol and midazolam pump begin to work and BANG you are out like a light. Next thing they are saying your name waking you up. First minute you cannot move to sit up as all your CNS has to wake up, even when you stand up you can barely support your own weight. You feel chilled as hell and happy its all over because you are full of Tranqs LOL Next comes HELL .....

About halfway home on the drive being driven by a responsible adult lol, that lovely Anaesthetic begins to wear off and the reality of the fact you have actually had all of your gums sliced open and peeled back, had a Black & Decker drill shoved in your mouth and had a load of jaw bone removed, then a handfull of titanium rods screwed into the bone in your mouth effectively stretching it and then it has all been stiched back up - Begins to hit home LMAO By the time I get dropped off at my front door all of it has worn off and I am at the point of SCREAMING in pain, at that point I hit the Ibuprofen and Paracetamol and collapse on my bed with tears in my eyes!!

Ohh yeah, then within 24 hours all your face and jaw swells up like you have been done over by 3 large blokes Lol

If you’re into chocolate milk, try adding egg whites to it for protein. Or, if you’re hard pressed for protein, add chocolate syrup to egg whites (a whole container) and drink them that way.

I can’t say I’ve been where you are, but I do know life gets better and there’s ALWAYS a reason to keep pushing forward. Do like the cows in the field, push into the storm so it ends faster. Make the best of it, then when you’re healthy again push even harder. The gear and gainz will always be there, your health won’t.

this sucks bro but here's a little life hack for you. It's easy to do even when you're not hungry. Grab a jar of PB and a glass of water (yup not milk or protein) scoop the PB, swallow with water, down it like an oyster without chewing, do this like 5x every night before bed with a spoon full of honey. Maybe go for MK over GH. Try to manage your minerals with supplements for now, it sucks but it's only temporary. One of my go to morning shakes is just raw cottage cheese, scoop of PB, water to thin it, blend and chug. Occasionally I add oats, depending on what I'm doing, if you use oats its best to blend and soak them over night and then add in the morning, this reduces the grit and keeps your shake from becoming jello. Drink it quickly. Think of food as purely nutritional for now, make it a game to find the best way to get as many nutrients and calories packed in to dense liquid drinks. You can make protein based icecream using whole cream, dark chocolate, little stevia and a shot of bourban (keeps it from icing over) freeze and then have that as a cheat treat. I'd probably recommend getting some kind of beef protein powder as well.
You got this bro

Hell yeah. I did go threw a jar of honey roasted peanut butter today while at work. That was all I had after my 4 eggs for breakfast the jar and a whey shake. When I got home from work I got a small amount of grannys home made chicken and vegetable soup as well as a fat sweet potato decked out in 1/3 stick if butter and a wad of brown sugar. Got a few calories there anyway. I just told the wife today I needed some cottage cheese. I like the home made ice cream idea alot.

For about the past 2.5 years I have been having extensive Dental surgery due to past alcoholism basically from 18 to 34 years old, which got worse as I got older - especially ages 28 to 34. It just decayed my entire mouth heavily from both the acidity of the vodka/whiskey and being too lazy to brush em on a night as I'd just pass out on the sofa lol. Once they decay too much you can't repair them. I've had a mixture of implants, crowns and bridges put in.

One thing I made sure I did was to get it all done in stages, so I would have a number of teeth on one side that I could still use and connect to at least be able to eat. No joke pal - at one stage there was just one upper and one lower molar connecting at the back because the temporary denture they made was so bad it wouldn't fit over my lower gums and the bite was horrifically out. Although its not as bad as your situation, it made eating hell. Just bare with it buddy and accept it is going to take 3 times longer to get your food in - but still make sure you get the same amount in no matter what.

I didn't change what I ate which luckily is fairly easy to eat - White mash potato, baked chicken breast, ice cream, cheese, jelly sweets (the very chewy ones for old denture wearers) bread etc. None of this requires much chewing. I am not sure how your surgery is structured, I also had upper jaw bone grafting done too as to not pierce the sinuses that go into the nose with the implant screws - but generally once they put the implant screw into the bone you are still going to be waiting another 3 months for it to bond in with the jaw bone so it is strong enough to support the crown to eat on. Maybe you are getting implant supported entire dental arches for upper and lower mouth so these can be eaten on sooner rather than single implant crowns/individual teeth?

Just bare with it mate and be patient, I know its horrible when you have had them extracted and there is nothing in there, but the wait is definately worth it having new teeth again which are nice and white. This is just a tempaorary void in your training pal that you have to bare with - before you know it they will all be sorted and you will be eating normally again, better than before. I still have 4 implants to go in which are being done in 1 month from today - so I still have 4 months effectively till its all finshed but seeing what I have had done so far its fucking brilliant pal! Its completely worth it in the end & you won't be able to stop looking in the mirror at perfect, straight white teeth Biggrin

3 weeks? Not to be that guy but, stop, give up, fuck it. If you are on cycle, drop to a cruise dose. Get the gainz back later. There gets to be a point where you are just torturing yourself for no reason. Take this opportunity to just live normally for a bit and plan out a big mass gain bulk for after it's all done.

U can almost blend anything. Just your taste prefferance. I'm blending tuna sometimes with water just to get the proteins/calories needed. Tastes like 80 year old pussy( never tasted but will try if i get the chance) LOL
If the problem is getting the calories needed for maintain mass get a blender and start blending

When its fresh and cold with vanilla protein it tastes a lot like a creamsicle flavor. Just adjust the amount of OJ to get the consistency you want and you're golden

Look into Stan Efferding's recipe for Monster Mash. Basically lean ground beef/bison, jasmine rice, some finely chopped veggies, and broth then you use a serrated food chopper to pre-masticate it and shovel it down your throat. He originally came up with it when he had to have gum surgery and couldn't chew. He may have some other things in the vertical diet that you can incorporate, as well.
