Help getting TRT script

Hello everyone,
I am looking to get TRT through my insurance as it seems to be A) more reliable (especially with China situation) and B) cheaper. Now I have gotten bloodwork done and seen my levels were messy due to early life blasting and cruising. With that being said what route do you suggest, seeing a Urologist or and Endocrinologist?

DocMcGainsI looked up natural medicine clinics in my region that do various kinds of wellness usually not handled by PCPs, and then found one that was covered by my insurance. I scheduled an appointment with a provider and described my symptoms (ask ChatGPT for a script if you don't know it already...). Went for a blood draw (doctor ordered so covered by health insurance!) which confirmed low T (a year prior it had been mid-300s, so just barely within reference range; a year later it was in the mid-200s, so below reference) and then had a follow-up with the doctor in which we discussed treatment options. I asked for hormone replacement and he wrote the prescription. Four vials at 200mg/vial prescribed each month, with a starting dose of 80mg/week, which is where I started. I encourage you, and everyone else considering this route, start low and titrate up after regular bloodwork. I found at 120mg/week administered MWF (30mg/shot) my total test now sits just under 1000, which is great for me. I pay under $5 for the four vials each month. Do it right, save your money, and avoid the online TRT clinic racket.
I am very happy with the choice I made, and if you have good insurance you should go this route as well. If you don't, you might be stuck going with a pay-to-play clinic. Good luck!
Asking your doctor first is the best choice, mine took care of me, and my friends urologist took care of him. If you go To a major medical provider such as Kaiser, it’s probably not gonna happen regardless of how low you are. In that case, you can find a different doctor when your insurance changes, or go to a private TRT clinic. In that case, using any of the trusted sources here on this site would be cheaper.
Cheaper may not be the case, I get it through my insurance, but they wanted to give me some cream, I told my doctor no, I wanted injections, but, because of that I have to pay. $44 every three months. Which is about equivalent to what we find with most of the trusted suppliers found on this website if you include the discounts. Now my advice, because you’ll run into doctors who will refuse to prescribe for you even if you’re sub 300. Get on a standard schedule of test, stop for one month, let your levels crash, then get tested, if they want to run repeat tests, repeat the same schedule so you will have the same predictable result. When my doctor refused to prescribe for me when I was at 350, that’s exactly what I did.
Not sure how seeing a doctor/endocrinologist would be cheaper? And most clinics are around $200 plus $80-120 every month for T. Cheapest clinic I’ve seen was $5-600 a quarter but you provide your own blood work to them.
You have to see your PCP rather than trt clinic, if you’re lucky, your Doc will help you
Yea my PCP just gave me a sheet for a Endocrinologist to go too. But my levels are 280 from again early life use for years. To them that's normal range but I am still pretty young and if you take that into consideration then no way they are acceptable.

TRT clinic/Doc is not cheaper unless your insurance can get it for you for under $50 a vial. Even then, my experience with a primary care physician was a major pain in the butt. If you can avoid it, just get it on your own.
When I started TRT about 3 years ago Ins wouldn't cover. And it cost like $500 a month which got you a visit to the "doctor", bloodwork and a vial of Test Cyp. Thus why I then went rogue and did my own thing. I can get my own bloodwork done for less that $200 and has more tests abailable plus a vial of test for $50 at most I make out like a bandit.
TRT Doc is nic,e to go to when you start if you want to see what they test for, etc etc etc. Once you got the basics down I would go your own direction.
That’s the case for many of us, however, as long as you’re not worried about life insurance, you can be honest with your doctor about what you’re doing, and they will most definitely run your labs for you. Harm reduction. Will save you some cash.

I mean $40-$50 for a ten week supply of trt is pretty good especially not having to deal with doctors or overpriced clinics.
Yes. Most insurance won't cover anyways. My pharma test is the most expensive part of my steroid lifestyle. It's like $70 (with a coupon) for test Cyp 200. Id scoff at anywhere on here trying to charge so much.
It is for sure cheaper to just get Test from sources on here. I find good quality test pretty cheap.
Trt clinics are a rip off and Drs have too many hoops to jump through. Alot of them will only want you to be in the 500s to 800 max. They are clueless imo.
I go through a TRT Clinc, was going to eventually seen an endocrinologist.
Not sure on the whole insurance aspect. Some will cover it, some won’t.
